2 Page 2 / 7 1 Descriptin The OBD Adapter v2 enables cmmunicatin between NEVO r Dieg gas injectin system and petrl cntrller that uses OBDII diagnstic interface. The applicatins f this cmmunicatin are as fllwing: reading parameters frm the OBDII system, and their visualizatin in the NEVO/DiegG3 applicatin, reading and cntrlling (including deleting) recrded and awaiting errrs (truble cdes) f the petrl cntrller, autmatic regulatin and adaptatin gas system n the basis f the crrectins read frm OBD (see NEVO r DiegG3 prgram instructins). Adapter OBD v2 can wrk as a standalne device r it can be cnnected t the gas installatin frm DiegG3 r NEVO family. When cnnected t NEVO r NEVO PLUS system Adapter OBDv2 requires NEVO r newer sftware. When cnnected t DiegG3 Adapter OBDv2requires DiegG r newer sftware. When Adapter OBDv2 is nt cnnected t gas ECU it wrks as an OBD scanner and can be cmmunicated by NEVO r newer sftware. Details abut usage f OBD Adapter v2 with KME gas systems are available in the instructins fr these systems. The use f Adapter with gas installatin allws it t autmatically adjust and adapt the gas system, using the data read frm the petrl ECU - OBD adaptatin (in the NEVO frm versin 4.0C, in DiegG3 frm versin 30J). Adapter may be als used fr the time f calibratin. In that case it is a tl facilitating the calibratin, and t sme extend autmatizing it. Adapter may als be installed in car permanently. In that case it wrks as an interface between petrl and gas cntrllers and enables the gas cntrller t intrduce cnstant, adaptive crrectin. The adapter may be cnnected t OBD using prtcls that are applied in mst cars prduced after year 2000: ISO9141, KWP2000slw, KWP2000fast, CAN_11bitID_500kbps, CAN_29bitID_500kbps, CAN_11bitID_250kbps, CAN_29bitID_250kbps.

3 Page 3 / 7 2 Installatin The adapter is designed t make its installatin as easy as it is pssible. The assembly requires nly cnnecting three plugs: tw t the cmmunicatin interface (ne t the PC and ne t Dieg), and ne t OBD. Adapter is installed serially int the cmmunicatin path between PC cmputer and the cntrller and shuld be munted inside the driver cabin, which requires putting the cmmunicatin wire thrugh int the driver cabin. Fr the cnvenience, extensin crds t cmmunicatin interface are added t the installatin set. The cnnectin diagram fr the standalne cnfiguratin is shwn n the figure belw. If the gas cntrller has and ld, nn-hermetic standard f the cmmunicatin plug, it needs t be replaced by a plug in a new, hermetic standard (trade number: ).!!! WARNING: In cars with flap n the OBD cnnectr, the flap shuld be remved befre cnnecting OBD mdule wires. 3 Operating the sftware 3.1 Sftware actualizatin Updating the sftware changes the OBD Adapter v2 firmware and stres the device t the factry settings f the laded versin. The current driver versin and date f cmpilatin is shwn in the frame. The bx belw displays a list f available updates.

4 Page 4 / 7 Fig. 3.1 Firmware update windw. Prcedure f updating is as fllws: If desired update file is nt n the list f available updates press Additinal updates... buttn and chse file frm yur PC. It will be added t the list. Chse update file and press Update buttn. First the windw with questin abut saving current settings t a file will appear. After saving r chsing nt t save the update cnfirmatin windw will appear (Fig. 3.2). T start actualizatin prcess press Yes. Fig. 3.2 Staring update cnfirmatin windw.

6 Page 6 / OBD tab OBD tab element are divided int grups: OBD Cnnectin Prtcl is used t determine the prtcl f the cmmunicatin with the OBD. Detect enables t autmatically detect the prper prtcl. Cnnect cnnects with the OBD using the chsen r the detected prtcl. Discnnect discnnects with OBD. Aut cnnect t OBD when turned n, this ptin makes adapter t autmatically cnnect t the OBD after engine starts. State bar indicates current OBD cnnectin status. OBD Scanner Live data pens Live data windw. Truble cdes pens Truble cdes windw. Read reads truble cdes frm petrl ECU. Clear clears ECU truble cdes. 3.3 Live data windw Live Data tab prvides functinality f cntrlling the readings frm OBD. By every value there is a check bx, which turning n causes cyclic reading f the chsen value and displaying it. If sme values are nt visible, they cannt be read frm the OBD interface in the particular car. Any value read frm OBD can be displayed n the chart f the NEVO system's recrder (Recrder tab).
