1 Aladdin HASP SRM Key Prblem Reslutin Installatin flwchart fr EmbrideryStudi and DecStudi e1.5 Discnnect frm the Internet and disable all anti-virus and firewall applicatins. Unplug all dngles. Insert nly when prmpted. Install EmbrideryStudi/DecStudi e1.5 Plug dngle/dngles 1 when instructed CHECK: Cntrl Panel > System > Device Manager 2 Universal Serial Bus Cntrllers Aladdin HASP HL Key Aladdin HASP Key Aladdin USB Key Enable and cnfigure firewall /anti-virus Add c:\windws\system32\hasplms.exe t exceptin list Add c:\prgram Files\WILCOM\EmbrideryStudi_e1.5\BIN\*.* t the list f applicatins allwed t access the Internet Add prt 1947 t allwed prts if applicable Check if page lads n Internet brwser and that HASP HL Key is listed Rebt PC and Check if EmbrideryStudi/DecStudi e1.5 lads. *1 Tw dngles are required when ding an update frm an lder versin. Yu will be prmpted when t insert each f the dngles. *2 Check if there is a WARNING (!) icn next t the Aladdin HASP HL Key. Read further t reslve.

2 I. Nrmal Aladdin HASP Key peratin EmbrideryStudi and DecStudi e1.5 are shipped with the latest Aladdin HASP Keys with 3.21 versin firmware. EmbrideryStudi e1.5 is packaged with the Aladdin HASP SRM 5.41 installer while DecStudi e1.5 is packaged with Aladdin HASP SRM 5.50 installer. When crrectly installed, Device Manager reprts 3 items in the Universal Serial Bus cntrllers sectin: Aladdin HASP HL Key, Aladdin HASP Key and Aladdin USB Key. When incrrectly r incmpletely installed, warning icns appear n the device. The Aladdin HASP key installer includes the HASP License Manager applicatin: c:\windws\system32\hasplms.exe When this applicatin is running yu shuld be able t start yur internet brwser and lad the HASP License Manager Admin Cntrl Center by typing A gd indicatin that this is running prperly is that it is Started in the list f Services:

Errr Messages and ther symptms f dngle prblems Errr Messages "HASP key nt fund H0007" "Unable t access HASP SRM Run-Time Envirnment (H0033)" ES.exe has stpped wrking Cannt lad c:\prgram Files\Wilcm\EmbrideryStudi_e1.5\BIN\prduct.dll Culdn t lad the dll libintf.dll when starting Wilcm Design Explrer Other Symptms The EmbrideryStudi e1.5 splash screen appears but the sftware never lads. Usual lading time is apprximately 2 minutes. Windws Task Manager Prcess tab shws DESLOADR.EXE is listed and ES.EXE appears briefly but suddenly disappears. Windws Task Manager Prcess tab shws DESLOADR.EXE is listed and ES.EXE and CrelDRW.exe appear then an Exceptin Access Vilatin dialg appears and the sftware des nt start.

Hardware / Device Driver Issues A. nvidia Mtherbards with Windws Vista Errr message: "HASP key nt fund H0007" Using Aladdin HASP Driver 5.5 and 5.41, the Aladdin (3.21 firmware) Key cannt be detected in sme USB prts f nvidia Mtherbards. The prblem is seen n the system as a warning icn ver the Aladdin HASP HL Key device in Cntrl Panel > System > Device Manager: Wrkarund: Use a USB hub t cnnect the dngle. Nte: Aladdin is currently develping a new driver t address this prblem. B. Cnflict with ther USB devices On ccasin, the presence f ther USB devices may cause prblems with the Aladdin HASP key. Slutin: Remve cnflicting USB device/devices C. Incrrect Aladdin device driver installed The HASP key may nt functin if an incrrect versin driver is installed. Slutin: check latest dngle driver frm D. USB prt is defective r Aladdin HASP key nt prperly inserted. Check if the LED is lit n the dngle. If nt, remve and re-insert. Wait fr the perating system t detect the device. If it still des nt light up, try anther USB prt r use a USB hub. E. Faulty dngle On rare ccasins ne may get a faulty dngle. The dngle neither lights nr is detected in Device Manager even with prper driver installed. Request a replacement. IV. Firewall, Anti-virus, Anti-spyware applicatins Errr Messages: "Unable t access HASP SRM Run-Time Envirnment (H0033)" ES.exe stpped wrking Cannt lad c:\prgram Files\Wilcm\EmbrideryStudi_e1.5\BIN\prduct.dll Culdn t lad the dll libintf.dll when starting Wilcm Design Explrer Causes: a. c:\windws\system32\hasplms.exe is blcked by firewall r anti-virus applicatin b. Prt 1947 is blcked by a Firewall applicatin

5 c. HASP License Manager Service is stpped. Preliminary Test: Disable all anti-virus and firewall applicatins. Nte that sme applicatins such as Nrtn, McAfee, and AVG 8.0 have bth anti-virus and firewall settings that may need t be individually disabled. If the HASP License Manager Cntrl Center des nt appear in the brwser when typing then we knw that the Anti-virus r Firewall applicatin will have t be cnfigured. If the Cntrl Center still des nt appear, check fr ther firewall r anti-virus applicatins that may be running and disable them r turn them ff. Slutin: 1. Add c:\windws\system32\hasplms.exe in the Exceptin list f the anti-virus and firewall applicatin 2. Add prt 1947 t the Exceptin list 3. Restart the HASP License Manager Service (Cntrl Panel > Administrative Tls > Services) Imprtant: Yu must perfrm an installatin Repair t re-register EmbrideryStudi sftware cmpnents. (Cntrl Panel > Add/Remve Prgrams) Example f Firewall Exceptin:

Mre detailed trubleshting (adapted frm Aladdin knwledgebase) "Unable t access HASP SRM Run-Time Envirnment (H0033)" Descriptin: This errr means Cmmunicatin errr between the prgram and the lcal license manager This errr can be caused by a number f things including the HASP SRM runtime is nt installed prperly, Persnal Firewall Sftware blcking cmmunicatin with the HASP LMS service, r anther piece f sftware is using the same prt that the HASP License uses (prt 1947) Slutin: T trubleshting the errr fllw the steps belw until the cause fr the errr is fund: 1. Open a web brwser and cnnect t This is the HASP SRM Admin Cntrl Center. If it s pssible t cnnect t this then the SRM Runtime is installed OK and the prblem lies elsewhere and yu can disregard the rest f this dcument If yu get a message page cannt be displayed then it s pssible the SRM Runtime is nt installed (g t step 2) r blcked (g t step 3 and 4) 2. G t Start > Run and type services.msc and press OK The list is alphabetical. Search fr HASP License Manager in the table and then check that it s status is Started If this entry is nt listed then the HASP SRM Runtime is nt installed. Please reinstall it. If the status is nt Started check the event lg fr entries relating t the HASP License Manager service that will give an errr message and further diagnstic infrmatin 3. Check yur persnal firewall sftware. There are many types f persnal firewall sftware including Nrtn Internet Security (the Firewall is ne cmpnent f this sftware), Znealarm and thers. By default mst persnal firewall sftware will request permissin t allw access fr the HASP Licence Manager the first time it is run. If access is allwed there will be n prblems. If access is denied yu will encunter cmmunicatin prblems. T reslve such prblems either disable the Firewall cmpletely (Nte: this ptin has risks. Please cntact yur firewall vendr fr details) r create a rule/exceptin in the firewall t allw the HASP Licence Manager (if there is an ptin t create a rule/exceptin based n a prt number, allw prt 1947) As there are many persnal firewall prducts n the market it is nt pssible t list all the ways t cnfigure each piece f sftware here. Please cntact yur firewall vendr fr details n hw t create exceptins r rules as detailed abve.

7 4. Check that there aren't any applicatins that use HASP registered prt (Prt 1947). If yu find such a prgram, disable it and run the HASP applicatin again Applies T: General issue, nt related t any specific versin f HASP SRM PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS Prblem: HASP HL key drivers d nt install. Prbable cause: Presence f lder HASP HL key drivers installed n the machine Slutin: Uninstall the lder drivers. Click Start > Run r press the Windw Key + R Type: c:\prgram Files\Wilcm\EmbrideryStudi_e1.5\BIN\haspdinst.exe -kp -purge and click OK. Wait fr message that peratin was successful. Caveat: This uninstalls ALL ther HASP drivers. Make sure yu have n ther HASP key that requires an lder driver. Install the latest driver. Prblem: "HASP key nt fund H0007 Cause & Slutin: A. The HASP HL key LED is nt lit 1. The key is nt cnnected r nt prperly cnnected t the USB prt. Discnnect, pause a few secnds, then recnnect. If the LED lights up, the applicatin shuld be able t access the key. Yu may need t wait a few secnds fr the device t be cmpletely installed by the perating system. 2. The required HASP HL key drivers are nt installed. If yu are running HASP SRM n a Windws platfrm, check fr an entry fr HASP SRM in the Device Manager utility. If there is n entry, yu must install the drivers. 3. Check if the USB prt is functining crrectly. Discnnect all ther USB devices frm their respective prts. Cnnect the HASP HL key t a different USB prt. Try using a different USB device in the prt frm which the HASP HL key was nt accessible t test if the prt is actually wrking.

Check if the HASP License Manager Service is running G t: Cntrl Panel > Administrative Tls > Services Vista Tip: Quickly check if the service is running by starting Task Manager and pening the Services tab. Prblem: Yu receive an errr message indicating that HASP License Manager was nt fund. (H0033) Cause: HASP License Manager was nt laded r the service is stpped. Slutin: Restart HASP License Manager in the Windws Services windw. If it des nt start, smething is blcking c:\windws\system32\hasplms.exe. This is prbably a firewall applicatin.
