1 Third Annual Chicago Cardiovascular Update July 10 12, 2014 Chicago, Illinois Special Guest Speaker: John Gordon Harold, MD Immediate Past President American College of Cardiology Course Directors: Sponsored by: of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Office of Continuing Medical Education Co-sponsored by the American College of Cardiology
2 Dear Colleague, We are pleased to invite you to the Third Annual Chicago Cardiovascular Update. Building on our past success and your thoughtful feedback, we are once again bringing to the community a scholarly update in cardiovascular medicine presented by highly regarded national experts both here at Northwestern University and beyond, in an interactive format and taking advantage of the great summer experiences in Chicago. As has become our profile, we will adopt an evidence-based guideline driven update of the critical domains in cardiovascular medicine. We will especially focus our update on atrial fibrillation, valvular heart disease, hypertension, heart failure, prevention and acute coronary syndromes. Significant new statements from addressing these areas, especially the cardiovascular disease prevention guidelines, will represent the platform for most of our discussions. We are once again benefitted by the presence of lead authors and writing group committee members who are on our faculty and others with whom we frequently collaborate. We have scheduled a two and a half day meeting that will allow ample time for discussion including small group networking sessions. As before, we will use cutting edge audience response technology to allow real-time questions and answers. We hope you will join us for this Third Annual Chicago Cardiovascular Update and that you and your family will share a fabulous summer weekend in Chicago with us as well. This will be THE cardiovascular CME program to attend this summer we look forward to seeing you! Best regards,
