LinkedIn is a crowded space for recruiters and job seekers, although it is evolving with more intuitive tools like candidates/jobs you might like. 4 APPLICANT TRACKING SYSTEMS Applicant tracking systems are software applications or recruiting software to automate recruiting functions such as online application processing, resume tracking and sorting, data searching, and contact management. There are many different ATS products available, but three of the top systems are Taleo, Jobvite, and icims. Taleo Taleo is a large software-as-a-service product for talent acquisition, compensation and performance management, and learning and development. Companies use its recruiting software to process their online applications, HRIS processes, and other modular units to manage talent acquisition. Oracle Corporation bought Taleo in 2012 for $1.9 billion. Almost half of the top career sites worldwide are powered by Taleo and Taleo s average customer return on investment is almost $5 milllion. Many companies, and especially large national or global corporations, use applicant tracking systems like Taleo to streamline their recruiting processes. These let them store applications and resumes into databases searchable by keywords and sort them by position and/or skills, as well as other useful features. It s turned paper applications and resumes into virtual candidate data that s more easily accessible during the recruiting and hiring process. Oracle recently acquired Taleo for almost $2 billion, so there is a lot of value in their product, at least for employers and recruiters. Taleo has a feature called Talent Intelligence with embedded analytics, automatic information-gathering throughout the entire recruiting process, and many valuable ways to manipulate and extract recruiting data. Jobvite Jobite was introduced in 2003 as a social media job announcement and employee referral system. It has grown into a top-notch ATS, recruiter CRM, and social media recruiting system. It s a softwareas-a-service platform with a modular format.
