1 National Rural Economic Developers Association 05 MARKETING KIT NREDA: Sharing Success and Inspiring Results The National Rural Economic Developers Association (NREDA) was formed to promote rural development opportunities through electric and telephone cooperatives. During the time of the Rural Electrification Administration (REA), cooperatives had been a long time advocate of marketing rural locations as a competitive and low-cost alternative for business investment. The creation of a national organization, structured to coordinate recruitment resources, would provide all members a greater presence to corporate America. In 9, a handful of cooperative members responsible for economic development met in Platte City, Missouri to evaluate this idea and its many benefits. In the spring of 99, NREDA was formally organized, and later that year held the first member meeting in Washington, DC. The next year Nashville, Tennessee, served as the conference city for the first annual meeting, attracting more than 00 attendees. From that small beginning, NREDA has matured into a professional organization providing members valuable assistance with their economic development, key account management, community development, infrastructure development, and other rural development programs.

NREDA News Brief Newsletter Members recieve a bi-monthly electronic newsletter that brings a wealth of information about issues, events, and resources to help them do their jobs. NREDA Annual Meeting & Conference Attend the national conference that offers insightful speakers, education sessions, face-to-face access to federal officials, networking opportunities, and fun. Educational Opportunities Webinars and professional development seminars on topics of interest to economic developers make learning and accessibility easy. Membership Directory Members utilize the online directory with listings of NREDA member contact information, crossreferenced by state, organization, and areas of expertise. Website Announcements, secure Members Only section with member search feature by members/state/expertise, current issues and events, links to industry-related web sites, job postings, and archived copies of the newsletter. Rural Focus No other organization matches NREDA s focus on rural economic development, needs examination, resources identification, and communication of what works. Personal and Professional Development Leadership, participation, and recognition opportunities on committees, at the annual meeting and on the Board of Directors. Sponsorship & Marketing Program The Sponsorship Program has several levels of participation. They include annual support of NREDA through the association s meetings (Annual Conference, webinars and other educational sessions such as REDLG 0), electronic newsletter advertisements and/or on the association s website, advertising in meeting attendee materials, or exhibiting as a regular NREDA Sponsor Partner. As a sponsor at any level - you will receive year-round recognition through mentions in the meeting promotions, meeting signage and on the association s website. 3 Promote Your Organization with NREDA NREDA Advertising Rate Card The NREDA Newsletter NREDA News Brief is published electronically 4 times per year. Both the electronic newsletter advertising and the website advertising includes a hyperlink to the organization s website. Newsletter Advertising Rates Website Advertising Rates $00 for 6 issues / $400 for 4 issues $500 for 6 mos. / $900 for mos. Newsletter Ad Specs Newsletter ads are two sizes: The banner ad (only one available ) is 45 pixels wide and up to, but not to exceed 00 pixels high. The sidebar ads (two available) are 7 pixels wide and up to 00 pixels high. All artwork should be saved at 7 dpi and submitted as a.jpg or.gif file. The file size must be less than MG and can be 4 color or B/Q. Ads not submitted to these specifications cannot be used. NREDA is not responsible for reformatting ads. The newsletter is sent to approximately 500 individuals and has an open rate of 5 percent. Ads are due 5 days prior to release dates of the 5th and 0th of each month. Website Ad Specs Website ads can be in one of two formats (graphic or Google-like text) and there are only three ad spaces available: on the Home page, the Events page or the About Us page. If submitting ad in graphic form, the ad should be no larger than 400 pixels wide and 5 pixels in height. The text based version should be 5 words or less with no graphics. Both receive a link to your custom-designed web page. www. nreda.org receives approximately 500 hits monthly.
