2 PRODUCT DESIGN MADRID: THE FAIR For the first time ever, Spain will host a fair exclusively devoted to Product Design. An open event where the designers and their products will play the leading role and the design brands will be observers and guide for these young talents. Product Design Madrid offers a push to the designers careers and their products It s the suitable place to start being part of the design community and display innovative pieces. The Architects Association of Madrid (COAM) will provide the designers with a part of its large new building in the city centre. During five days, Product Design Madrid will attract a good number of professional of the cultural field in order to promote the designers work. ORGANIZERS Product Design Madrid is an event organized by 6mas1 Arquitectura Arte Diseño S.L. in collaboration with Setcreativo S.L. 6mas1 works in the field of interior and project design and will guarantee the quality of the competitors. Setcrativo is event organizer and responsible for PDM communication. Despite of their youth, their backgrounds demonstrate expertise to reliably develop and carry out a new design event for Madrid. GOALS Product Design Madrid aims to exhibit and support the best products of young designers, both national and international. On the other hand, PDM wants to promote the city of Madrid as a promising destination for production and development of the industrial product design.

3 PRODUCT DESIGN MADRID: THE CONTEST PDM product fair includes a designers competition for all participants. A professional jury will select the ten best products seen at the fair and these will travel to Milan! From April 9 to 13, PDM will present them at the Temporary Museum for New Design at the premises of the prestigious SuperStudio in via Tortona. This event takes place within the Fuori Salone of the Design Week (Semana del Mobile), the most important design event of the year. The members of the jury who will select the 10 best designs will include: An international designer > Patricia Urquiola*, the renowned spanish designer. A representation of the Product Design Madrid committee. A representative of Milan s Fuori Salone > Gisella Borioli*, Chief Director of SuperStudio in via Tortona, one the most prestigious and active spaces of Fuori Salone Milan, at the heart of the Design Week. The PDM Media Partner > Marta Riopérez, Chief Director of Grupo Hearst, that publishes well-know design magazines such as ELLE and Nuevo Estilo. A representative of a design brand > Gandia Blasco*, a prestigious spanish design brand. *To be confirmed

4 PARTICIPANTS [ DESIGNERS ] The designers will be at the central position during Product Design Madrid. We admit participants from all countries having one or several innovative industrial products that still have not found a sponsor or brand to be commercialized. Number of exhibitors: 100. Age: between 25 and 40 years. Suggested profile: Holding university degree and interest in fields of design, art, architecture... [ DESIGN SCHOOLS ] Both the national and the intenational Schools of Design will also have the opportunity to show their students creations. PDM will reserve for them a specific area within the exhibition space of the fair. We currently keep contact with: Universidad Politécnica de Madrid* Escuela de Arte 12 Diseño Industrial (Art School 12 for Industrial Design)* Politecnico di Milano* IED, Istituto Europeo di Design* ELISAVA, School for Design and Engineering of Barcelona* [ MAGAZINES ] Those magazines specializing in the design field will have the opportunity to apply for a space to show their products during the fair and so widen their readers communities. [ BRANDS ] PDM fair will expand from its own limits in the COAM headquarters spreading the surrounding areas of the city centre such as Alonso Martínez, Chueca and Malasaña. PDM is working to programm a Design Route and so enhance the participation of the design brands in Product Design Madrid. Therefore the organization plans to involve local shops that will permit to place some products in their windows. 5 VISITORS Product Design Madrid is an innovative fair for Madrid s cultural scene and unlike the art fairs programmed for the same week: ARCO, ArtMadrid y JustMad, three well-know fairs that present a diverse selection of art galleries. During a whole week the city transforms into the centre of attention of the cultural industry and the perfect scenario for many exclusive events to take place. Last edition of ARCO had more than visitors, it s the most important fair in Spain. The young JustMad at Puerta de America Hotel, attracted visitors. And in 2013 the Art and Design Week will gather together national and international publics and personalities of both the cultural and the luxury field: Estimation of visitors: between and individuals. Age: years. Social class: medium, medium-high. Interests: in design, art and architecture. CALENDAR > February 12: 8.00 pm, Opening night for guests with the respective invitation. This event will include the opening ceremony of the fair at the Assembly Hall, where an internationally renowned designer will receive the award for his/her outstanding and exemplary career. A cocktail will be served at the terrace of the COAM. The exhibition will open for press, sponsors and special guests from 7.00 pm to 1.00 am. > February 13,14 and15: General admission for public to pm. > February 16: General admission to 8.00 pm. Announcement of the 10 best products of the fair in the presence of José Antonio Granero, Dean of the Architects Association of Madrid (COAM). PDM fair will take place at the premises of the Architects Association of Madrid (COAM), in the city centre (Hortaleza, 63). The exhibition space will take up more than square meters on both the main foyer and the garden level. This new and innovative building opened in February 2012 is a visible landmark that has 20 windows to the street (12 of them to calle Hortaleza and 8 to calle Santa Brígida). THE VENUE
