1 AFFORDABLE ART FAIR MILANO SUPERSTUDIO PIU Via Tortona Milano 6 TH 9 TH MARCH 2014 Dear gallery owner, Three successful editions of Affordable Art Fair in Milan that welcomed over than 200 international exhibitors and visitors have made the mark in Italy as the most innovative contemporary art fair in the country as well in the rest of world with global art sales of , which represent the strong demand for affordable art around the world. Following the great result of the last Affordable Art Fair Milan with over than visitors and an impressive 30% increase in artworks sold, making Milan an interesting proposition for exhibitors, we are so glad to announce the fourth edition of our unique international fair for contemporary art priced between 100 and 5000 euro, The fourth edition of Affordable Art Fair Milan will take place from Thursday 6 th to Sunday 9 th March 2014 (opening night on 5 th ). It will again be held at Superstudio Più, one of the best locations for events in the city (e.g. used during Fashion Week end Design Week). It is an exceptional venue with a unique atmosphere that is stimulating for both beginners and experienced collectors; it is also known extensively by our target market. For 4 days, a selection of 80 Italian and international galleries, will present contemporary artworks to both existing clients and a new group of art buyers. A large marketing budget and heavy investment in promotion through standard marketing channels and targeted partnerships will help to attract at least 15,000 visitors. Comprehensive marketing of the event will ensure high coverage in the Italian press, with strong public relations and targeted advertising to attract visitors. This will be an excellent opportunity to sell art and increase turnover, but also a superb way to: Increase the profile, knowledge and awareness of your gallery Introduce new customers to your gallery Entertain existing customers at exclusive evening events at the fair Build contacts with journalists, artists and other dealers

2 APPLICATION We require galleries to present a minimum of THREE LIVING ARTISTS, with original contemporary artworks under 5000 (including VAT). The full price must be shown next to the artwork. An artist can only be presented by no more than two galleries. Galleries wishing to exhibit the same artist should discuss and solve this matter together. Quality is paramount: the galleries will be selected by an international Advisory Committee with art experts. So, if you would like to participate at the Affordable Art Fair Milan 2014 please return the form as soon as possible. You will be notified of the success of your application once the Advisory Committee has reviewed. Once approved, we will send out a stand plan with placement. Stands will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so the sooner you apply the better! 4 STAND Stands are available in the following sizes: 15, 18, 21, 24,27, 30 and 36 sqm. Renting prices are specified below. Please check below the three stand sizes you wish to get, in your order of preference (1,2,3 1 being your favorite stand size). The price includes: The booth is a Ushape (3 walls) 3 meter high walls painted in white and including basic lighting Presence of your gallery in the catalogue Name of your gallery and link to your website on Signage bearing your gallery name 100 double invitations for the Private View and Thuesday Night + flyers 100 Single Tickets that allow free entran during the normal opening hours 2 for 1 digital invitations, valid during the normal opening hours, that can be mailed out to your clients. You will be able to order additional lighting, power sockets and walls via the exhibitor manual which will be sent to all selected galleries at a later date. PAYMENTS. DEPOSIT DUE WITH SUBMISSION 1000 This deposit will be refunded if the advisory committee does not approve your application.. If payments are not received by the due dates, your place may be offered to a gallery on the waiting list, and you will forfeit all payments received to date. 5 GENERAL CONDITIONS AFFORDABLE ART FAIR MILAN 2014 Article 1 General Terms The organizer (AAF Milan) sets the General Conditions, such as the place, the duration, the dates, the opening hours, and the ticket price of the AAF Milan and if necessary reserves the right to modify them. Article 2 Terms of participation The organizer, with the help of an advisory committee, will select all exhibitors for the show. The advisory committee studies all applications for the AAF and reserves the right to approve or not approve the gallery. The committee also reserves the right to refuse some of the proposed artists and, if these artists are exhibited during the fair, to remove the nonvalid works of art. Article 3 Exhibiting criteria Our key exhibiting criteria are: Exhibitors must be exclusively art galleries or art dealers with a regular exhibition programme All work must be priced under 5,000 VAT included. The full price must be shown next to the artwork. All art exhibited must be by living artists. A minimum of three artists must be shown on each stand. An artist can only be presented by no more than two galleries. Galleries wishing to exhibit the same artist should discuss this matter together. All art must be original; color reproductions of original work are not allowed. Not allowed at AAF Offset lithographs Giclées (although we will allow giclées when the original work is created by computer i.e. digital art) Prints run off a commercial printing press using a transparency of an original work, even if they might be signed and dated by the artist, typically in editions of 250 or more. Allowed at AAF Those prints made by the hand of the artist (etchings, screen prints, mono prints, dry point, lithographs, mezzotint etc) Those prints made with the artist s close involvement and overseeing of the printing process; the artist would usually have made the plates; edition size normally no larger than 150. Photography: original, fine art photographic prints rather than commercial, massproduced photographs are allowed at AAF. This means a high quality, controlled print process, usually overseen and authenticated by the photographer, in most cases signed and strictly limited (no more than 150 from one image regardless of printed size, but frequently much smaller edition sizes). Sculpture: Oneoff pieces or editions of 25 or less. Article 4 Code of Practice The stand must be occupied by the exhibitor during the whole opening hours, from the first day to the last day of the fair. Unless the organizer has agreed to this before, it is totally prohibited for an exhibitor to let, sublet or share a part or the totality of his booth to another person, should it be for free or not. Article 5 Payment conditions Deposit due with submission: Refunded if the advisory committee does not approve your application. Invoice for first payment 50% of stand price (minus deposit of 1.000) received by 31 st October Invoice for final payment 50% of stand price received by 31 st January Sending your application constitutes a strong and irrevocable commitment to pay the whole rental price for your stand. Once an exhibitor has been accepted by the advisory committee, all subsequent payments are nonrefundable. Nevertheless, if the selected gallery withdraws more than 45 days before the event opening, and provided the stand can be rented to another exhibitor, the organizer will refund the payments already made by the gallery apart from the deposit. After this deadline, the payments will not be refunded. Article 6 Objections In case of a dispute regarding the interpretation or execution of the General Conditions, the organizer and the exhibitor will do their best efforts to solve the dispute amicably and communicate all necessary information. If the dispute cannot be resolved within two weeks, the organizers can apply to courts. Italian law will apply. Article 7 Force majeure In case of force majeure or if, for any other unforeseeable reason, the AAF Milan cannot take place, the submissions will be cancelled and the payments, after expenses, refunded pro rata the payments made by the exhibitors.
