Required for RMSAA, CAA, and CMAA LTC 640 Athletic Administration: Role of the Urban Athletic Administrator Sunday, October 9 th, 5:00pm to 9:00pm, presented by Scott Evans, CMAA This course will provide insight and strategies for the leadership of athletic administrators in urban area schools. Additionally, the course will also focus on concerns and or challenges regarding the value of sports programs in urban area schools. LTC 700 Athletic Administration: Philosophy of Developmentally Appropriate Middle School Programs Monday, October 10 th, 1:00pm to 5:00pm, Presented by Daren Jones, CAA This course provides insights and strategies for the leadership of developmentally sound educationally compatible middle school level athletic programs. Middle school philosophy is discussed along with the relationship it has to the psychological and physical development of the middle school child. This course also focuses on concerns and/or challenges raised about the value of middle school sports programs in today s education setting. Required for RMSAA LTC 501 Athletic Administration: Philosophy, Leadership Organizations and Professional Development Monday, October 10 th, 5:00pm to 9:00pm, presented by Bruce Carver, CAA This flagship course of Leadership Training serves as an overview for interscholastic athletic administration. This course introduces the philosophy of education athletics and then focuses on the roles of the NIAAA, the NFHS, the State Athletic/Activity Associations, and the State Athletic Administrators Associations. The course also previews the NIAAA leadership Training and Certification Programs and includes study materials for the CAA Certification Exam. Required for RAA, RMSAA, CAA, and CMAA. LTC 799 Athletic Administration: Standards of Excellence in Interscholastic Athletic Programs Monday, October 10 th, 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Presented by Doug Killgore, CMAA LTC 799 has two purposes and potential benefits for HS athletics directors. For newly or recently appointed AD s the course provides an overview of 11 NIAAA LTC courses including key concepts, strategies and best practices. Where working to improve a program or looking for long-range planning guidance, this overview can be of value. At the close of each of the nine chapters, other LTC s are cited for more detailed information. For more experienced directors, the same planning and guidance benefits can be derived. However, an additional benefit and incentive can be realized by seeking NIAAA Recognition of Program Excellence as an exemplary athletic program. For this purpose, the course provides an assessment instrument that describes in detail important components of an educationally sound interscholastic athletic program.
