1 POSITION DESCRIPTION LAWN AND GARDEN MAINTENANCE WORKER Position Title Lawn and Garden Maintenance Worker Employment Instrument ADSSI Employee Collective Agreement 2009 Functional Area Customer Service Financial delegation In accordance with delegations policies, dayto-day consumables and equipment servicing Organisational Context Organisational Relationships ADSSI Limited trading as Adssi HomeLiving Australia is a not for profit organisation that provides practical HomeLiving services that promote choice, lifestyle and independence. Our primary purpose is to make a difference in the lives of people in our community, particularly the frail aged, people living with disabilities and dementia, their carers and others who may be disadvantaged. Position reports to: Team Leader Business Operations Positions supervised by this position: Work experience trainee, volunteer, assistant Key Relationships/Interactions: The position works closely and collaboratively with the Team Leader Business Operations and possible future gardening assistants. Position Summary The Lawn and Garden Maintenance Worker is responsible for providing an effective lawn and garden maintenance service to both funded and commercial clients. Qualifications and Experience Certificate II, III or IV in Horticulture with a minimum of 12 months experience maintaining gardens A demonstrated energetic and enthusiastic approach to building a business Physically fit, energetic and able to work outdoors in hot and cold conditions Flexible to work around adverse weather and to work extra hours where required Demonstrated plant identification knowledge Ability to complete risk assessments and work to safe work method statements Ability to quote on jobs Pest and disease control experience Demonstrated experience using self-propelled mowers, brush cutters, blowers, edgers, small chainsaws and hedge trimmers safely in a commercial environment Demonstrated light home maintenance experience Current drivers license and ability to reverse a trailer safely and competently 1 P a g e

Flexibility is required to plan to work outdoors early in the morning and later in the day with a mid-day break to avoid high UV exposure Adverse weather such as rain may require that the work is spread over a 60 hour fortnight in an irregular pattern Selling extra services to clients is an essential component of this role along with quoting Duties will include, but are not limited to: Gardening General garden maintenance in clients homes and at Adssi HomeLiving Australia Mulching Lawn mowing and edging Pest and weed control Pruning and hedging Garden tidies and rubbish removal Routine equipment maintenance 2 P a g e

3 Maintenance General maintenance in clients homes and at Adssi HomeLiving Australia Assist the Building Services trades Window cleaning Routine maintenance High pressure cleaning Painting Replacing light globes Moving furniture and equipment Ad hoc maintenance and repairs as required Compliance and continuous quality improvement Work Health Safety and the environment (WHS&E) Collaborate in the setting of KPIs for the position Meet all agreed KPIs Foster a working environment that values best practice and continuous quality improvement Ensure quality performance in all service delivery by participating in quality audit procedures such as spot checks and client feedback processes Participate in the complaints, compliments and feedback process to ensure timely resolution and contribution to continuous quality improvement Contribute to the review, analysis and improvement of the team Ensure the secure storage of client records to protect confidentiality Ensure that the gardening staff is engaged and productive through the completion of 11 (pro rata) support meetings with individual team members as well as an annual round up meeting Comply with the Work Health Safety Act and Codes of Practice Ensure that relevant Safe Work Method Statements and Material Safety Data Sheets are kept up-to-date Take care of self and others Participate in the Adssi HomeLiving Australia rehabilitation program Ensure that incidents, accidents and hazards are identified, recorded and managed in accordance with established policies and procedures 3 P a g e
