1 Position Description Position Title Division Business Business Unit Grade Accountant Shared Services Shared Services Financial Services Transactional Services/Accounting Services Responsible For Participation in the production of the monthly financial results and reporting as required. Ensuring all month end and year end tasks are completed by the required timeframes. Provide Accounting and other financial support services to Internal and external stakeholders. Participation in the Budgeting and Business Planning process of the Shared Services Division. Providing financial analysis and support to the Shared Services BU Managers and External Stakeholders. Provision of information to Audit (internal and external) reviews. Participation in the Shared Services delivery of year end reporting requirements for the business. Participation and responsible for a range of adhoc activities (including Project support) which ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of the Financial Services business unit Supervisor Senior Financial Accountant Has Reporting To Nil Main Activities Prepare and process monthly accounting journals in an accurate and timely manner. Completion of assigned balance sheet reconciliations for entities. Any variances are promptly investigated and explained, and where possible actioned/cleared in a timely manner Assist the Operations Finance Teams with investigations relating to balance sheet reconciliation variances. Participate in the delivery of monthly financial reporting for the Shared Services Division. Provide support to Shared Services Cost Centre Managers in the variance analysis of the Monthly Financial results against budget. Provide support in the budget and forecast process for the Operations Finance Teams

2 Assist the Senior Financial Accountant with Fringe Benefits Tax and Income Tax Return data collation & respond to queries as requested by the Group Tax Team. Provide support to the Assistant Accountant if required. Maintain working models for Inventory, Australia Post and Bank Fees and ensure monthly journals are accurate Work closely with the Corporate Accountant in respect Inventory (eg gift cards/tickets) matters Identify opportunities and produce necessary financial analysis and documentation to advise on business improvement opportunities, delivering increased cost effective services to contribute to increased business profitability. Involvement with the financial auditing of the Division and assist the Senior Financial Accountant in the timely follow up and resolution of audit issues. Provide month end support to the Group ICT and Distribution Accountants when required. Being aware of changes in accounting standards, and implement changes to procedures and practices as identified by the business; and develop plans and processes to ensure compliance with legislative requirements Co-ordinate and ensure completion of Shared Services ABS reporting services Involvement in Projects and initiatives to increase efficiencies across Financial Services (Including working closely with the Business Analyst Shared Services on specific projects). Other work and duties as required Provide coverage in the event there is insufficient resources in the Accounting Services Team Customers Provide stakeholders with financial management support to ensure sound financial practices and needs are met for effective decision making. Build financial acumen and discipline in the Division. Relationship Management Initiate and develop professional relationships (internal and external) and networks to ensure positive teamwork to facilitate the goals of the business. Participate in the development and execution of the Shared Services Service Level Agreement. Provide support in the Shared Services charge model for the

3 accurate, timely allocation of costs to the shared services clients (RAC Group businesses). Planning & Strategy Participation in the development of the Division s business plan, budget and forecast. Provide support in terms of financial analysis and advice to the Division and external stakeholders to assist in their planning and strategy. Provide variance analysis of the monthly and year to date result, to ensure the business is tracking to financial budgets/plans. Health and safety Employees are required to take reasonable care for personal health and safety and the safety of colleagues who can be affected by conduct in the workplace; Ensure hazardous conditions, near misses and injuries are reported immediately to an appropriate supervisor Typical Experience Accounting experience preferably within a medium to large organisation Qualifications & skills Tertiary Qualifications in Commerce/Business majoring in accounting. Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant (or near completion). Management and Financial Reporting Budgeting and forecasting Strong Analytical skills Analyse and interpreting financial data and information. Good verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Engaging in effective teamwork Achieving performance and financial targets Adapting to changing environment. Developing and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and external groups. Decision making All matters relating to the financial operations of the Division and with agreed matters in consultation with the Senior Financial Accountant.

Authority to make decisions in the absence of Senior Financial Accountant as delegated.
