1 Leukaemia Foundation Position Description Authorised By : Review date: POSITION TITLE: ACCOUNTABLE TO: LOCATION: EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Fundraising Campaigns Coordinator Fundraising Campaigns Manager Perth, Western Australia Part-time: 22.5h p/w POSITION SUMMARY: The income generation team is responsible for delivering a variety of fundraising activities within Western Australia. The main objective is to generate revenue, grow community support, and create an awareness of the mission and vision of the Leukaemia Foundation. The Fundraising Campaigns Coordinator will work as a member of the income generation team to support events and activities including World s Greatest Shave and Light the Night, as well as other national, community and statebased events and fundraising activities. POSITION DIMENSIONS: No. of reports 0 Budget Responsibility Geographical Spread N/A State wide Impact: Participants in national, state and community based fundraising and event activities, event suppliers and contractors, local government organisations, patients, carers and family members

2 MAJOR DUTIES: Administer and assist with the delivery of national events such as World s Greatest Shave, Light the Night, Aussie Muscle Car Run and other fundraising campaigns, activities and events Co-ordination of merchandise activities including stock control Assist with community relations activities when directed Maintenance and entry of data using the Leukaemia Foundation s database and events software and tools, such as CRM Answer queries, assist with banking and provide follow up with fundraising campaigns, activities and event participants Assist the fundraising team and the Foundation as a whole in developing positive relationships with individuals, community groups and businesses by answering queries from potential supporters in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner, and encouraging their involvement in the programs of the Foundation Assist with the co-ordination of volunteer activities relating to income generation campaigns and activities To provide support and assistance to other areas of the Foundation that may be required from time to time Any other task as requested by the Fundraising Campaigns Manager or General Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: QUALITY COMMITMENT Create relationships with community organisations, associations, businesses, individuals and media to raise awareness of the Mission and Vision of the Leukaemia Foundation to the highest possible standard. Promote, implement and manage the Foundation s agreed fundraising programs Ensure that all fundraising activities are approved by the State Office, which is responsible for all insurance and relevant legal Fundraising Acts. The philosophy, objectives and policies of the Foundation are upheld at all times with due regard to patient and organisation needs

3 Standards as set down by Workplace Health & Safety, Australian Standards and Foundation policy are met at all times PROFESSIONALISM Self motivated at the highest level Works with minimal direction Complies with policies and procedures of the Leukaemia Foundation Is aware of legal responsibilities related to the State regulations as attached to fundraising objectives Maintains all Foundations records as described and in keeping with the Foundation s Policies and Procedures Ensure that all income under your management is banked within 48 hours of collection and all expenditure is approved by the Fundraising Manager Demonstrates respect and sensitivity regarding requests of donors and community fundraisers and other external networks Demonstrates willingness to comply/resolve concerns, complaints or suggestions of staff, donors, community fundraisers and other external networks Maintains confidentiality with all involved Reports for work on time, notifying GM promptly of sick leave, and wears appropriate attire Adheres to work practices to meet with relevant Australian Standards and Workplace Health & Safety procedures Demonstrates an ability to appropriately plan work tasks and complete in a suitable time frame Ensures all accidents, incidents, difficulties, faults or breakdowns are reported immediately COMMUNICATION Communicates effectively with management and other staff, community organisations, associations, businesses and individuals Enhances communication internally and externally by attending meetings or reading minutes of meetings and is aware of current issues at the Foundation

4 Effectively communicates with local Media representatives in accordance with guidelines provided by the Foundation s Marketing and Communications Department Effectively promote and communicate, as required, the philosophies, services and activities of the Foundation Maintain and update Foundation s databases, forms/registers in accordance with legal requirements and the policies and procedures of the Foundation EDUCATION Maintains knowledge and skills by attending regular in-service education meetings relevant to work performed Seeks opportunities to attend external training and improve or gain new skills Uses the information provided to improve knowledge base TEAM Have a strong understanding of the Foundation s Mission, core values, fundraising goals and objectives and work co-operatively with the fundraising, administration and support services teams to support all fundraising activities. Works in collaboration with all staff as a team member across all Foundation activities Attends staff and team meetings wherever possible, or reads minutes if unable to attend Contributes to team activities and strategy days Assists with the quality improvement program as organised by Workplace Health & Safety Officer SAFETY Adheres to Workplace Health & Safety requirements as per Policy and Procedures of the Foundation

5 Is familiar with the Foundation s emergency procedures as they pertain to her/his level of experience Promotes safety awareness in the workplace Reports concerns and safety issues to the GM Reports all incidents to GM QUALIFICATIONS: Informal Qualifications Relevant work experience in fundraising, community services and/or event management and/or social marketing Experience Demonstrated ability to perform as part of a high functioning, busy team, whilst able to work autonomously with minimal supervision High level skills in the use of CRM tools, database management, and the online environment Excellent skills in time management, setting priorities, planning and organisation of duties and that of volunteers Ability to work with a wide variety of people and motivate others, including volunteers Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure, and manage a variety of tasks with competing demands Excellent problem solving skills and the flexibility to adapt to changing situations Ability to work flexible hours as the need arises from time to time, sometimes outside of normal working hours Current driver s license SELECTION CRITERIA: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal, time management and organisational skills

6 Demonstrated ability to perform as part of a high functioning, busy team, whilst able to work autonomously with minimal supervision Experience and ability to work with and coordinate volunteers Self-motivated with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision High level proficiency in the understanding and use of computer based technology, including but not limited to MS Office suite Sound understanding of database and CRM programs Previous experience in a fundraising environment preferable Diplomacy and tact in sensitive and confidential matters Willingness to work flexible hours Eligibility to live and work in Australia
