1 TRINITY GRAMMAR SCHOOL POTENTIAL PASSIONS PURPOSE NON-ACADEMIC POSITION ELEARNING FACILITATOR The School is seeking to grow the existing elearning team in order to better support innovative teaching and learning. The elearning Facilitator is a true team player. Flexible and agile, you will bring integrity and good humour to the role. You are most likely a doer not a delegator; you are a natural problem solver who thrives on working with people and regularly goes above and beyond. As a core member of the elearning Team you will be expected to support and drive the uptake and use of educational technology and to provide customer service focused support to our staff and students. You will be excited by technology and innovation yet be able to communicate your passion empathetically and in plain English to staff and students who may not share your passion. In supporting a school-wide strategy for the use of innovative technologies, applications are sought from Educators, EdTech professionals or individuals from other suitable backgrounds. Desirable skills and experience: Experience providing ICT user support or training. Exemplary interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability in delivering presentations and group based training sessions. Strong customer service orientation The suitable candidate may be selected from a background of either: Education professional with a passion for supporting end users with educational technology. ICT professional with a customer service focus, and a demonstrable interest in the innovative use of technology for teaching and learning outcomes. General Information Trinity Grammar School is the largest Anglican Boys day and boarding School in NSW with an enviable reputation and tradition for serving the educational needs of boys and young men over a number of generations. The School has campuses located in Strathfield (Preparatory School), Summer Hill (Senior, Middle and Junior School) and Field Studies Centre at Woollamia. Since its founding in 1913, Trinity has forged a reputation for outstanding academic results, a caring pastoral programme and an emphasis on both traditional and community sports. Trinity has an enrolment of some 2000 boys. The Senior School is a member of the Combined Associated Schools of New South Wales and joins in the CAS Sports competition, while the Preparatory School and Junior School are members of the Independent Primary School Heads of Australia and participates in the IPSHA Sports and Cultural activities.

2 All members of staff are appointed by the Head Master and they are responsible to him for the overall performance of their duties. The Head Master delegates his authority to senior staff members for the effective management of the School. Mission Statement The mission of Trinity Grammar School is to provide a thoroughly Christian education for its boys, imparting knowledge and understanding of the world we live in, and recognising the importance of spiritual qualities in every sphere of learning and living. The School actively encourages its students to grow in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and man. The Role The elearning Facilitator role sits across the School s three campuses with a focus on the needs of K-6 staff and students. As a member of the elearning Team you will be expected to support and drive the uptake and use of educational technology and to provide customer service focused support for our staff and students. You will be a natural problem solver who thrives on working with people. You will be required to learn new technologies quickly and to encourage staff adoption in an empathetic and supportive way. You may come from an education, technical or training background and will have a passion for innovative technologies and their potential in teaching and learning. Core Responsibilities: Facilitate, support, and encourage staff to embrace advanced technologies in their teaching practice. Support teachers P-12 in the use of learning technology and new learning strategies in both individual, small group and whole staff settings. Assist in the planning and development of an ICT Professional Learning Program for Staff. Provide guidance in the use of hardware including laptops. A dynamic and flexible team player, the elearning Facilitator provides a single point of contact for teaching and administration staff on Technology solutions. Internal: Teaching and non-teaching staff, Students External: Third Party Providers, professional organisations, parents FTE: 1.0

3 Responsibilities The elearning Facilitator will be a member of the elearning team that is responsible for the day to day elearning needs of the School. The role supports staff and students in the effective integration of technology across all facets of teaching and learning. Experience in an educational context is preferred, though not essential. The successful applicant will demonstrate a thorough understanding of technology enabled pedagogy supported by a flexible can-do attitude. The successful applicant will be an exceptional communicator with high-level interpersonal skills and a genuine love for working with, and helping people. He or she must exercise his or her duties and all aspects of their role from within a Christian framework, promoting positive Christian values. Academic Support Student Support Administrative Communication To support, encourage and facilitate staff to embrace advanced technologies in their teaching practice and to apply these skills to enhance student learning. Support teachers P-12 in the use of learning technology and new learning strategies in both individual, small group and whole staff settings. Facilitate staff ICT professional development (before or after school techclub meetings, staff conference days, staff meetings, faculty or stage meetings) Facilitate the sharing of new teaching strategies and technologies. Co-ordinate learning technology professional learning, including new teaching staff technology induction. Assist in the creation of Digital Citizenship materials. Assist in the delivery of the Digital Citizenship component of the Lifeskills programme. Coordinate the technology induction process of students new to the School. Assist and support any relevant co-curricular activities/clubs for students. Manage the user side of the School-wide Learning Management System. Manage and respond to support/training requests. Keep up-to-date with learning technology trends in education and facilitate the introduction and implementation of new learning technology into the School. Make informed recommendations regarding equipment needed to further enhance the use of learning technology. Liaise with ICT staff to ensure planned and resourced support of new learning technologies and learning activities. Other duties as determined by the Head of elearning. Maintain excellent communications across all principal relationships. Attend elearning and ICT Team meetings as required. Communicate the successes of teachers using technology. Develop and maintain documentation and electronic resources to support and promote the use of ICT. Attend and present at parent information sessions, staff meetings and other relevant functions. Contribute to school social media accounts and publications in order to share the positive impact of educational technologies.

4 Qualifications Experience/Skills Personal Attributes Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Education, Information Technology or equivalent. Desirable: Experience in educational institutions demonstrating a sound knowledge of educational technologies. A good understanding of technology trends. Hands-on experience in the ICT Support based role. Experience with Windows, Chrome and Apple OSX based operating systems. Essential: A can do attitude and be a hands-on proactive team player. Ability to perform all tasks with attention to detail. Ability to prioritise work schedules by being self-directed and motivated. Aptitude to learn new software packages, applications and services. Exemplary interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Highly developed customer service mentality. Proficient in the use of Google Apps, Microsoft Office365, and other educational cloud based applications and services. Other Relevant Information This role involves occasional after hours and evening duties (both remotely and onsite) for events such as parent evenings, staff professional development, systems upgrades and maintenance. This is a non-teaching, professional ICT role that offers flexible working hours in order to meet the needs of staff and students. Performance Indicators Performance Indicators are a means of assessing and evaluating the characteristics of services, processes and operations of the role. These include: Delivery: Ensuring that the project deliverables are met in a timely and professional manner Customer Service: Dealing with clients in an appropriate, polite and professional manner. Technological Capability: The ability to manage, design and implement various technology solutions and challenges. Adaptability: Demonstrates confidence, maturity and flexibility in response to work challenges whilst being open to feedback and change. Confidentiality: Ensures to maintain the upmost of confidentiality of all information and only disclose to others when appropriate. Protocols: Complies with codes of behaviour, policies, procedures and business etiquette.
