BACKGROUND This role sits within our ambitious and successful Fundraising department. We have seen significant year on year income growth in recent years due to the hard work and commitment of our experienced team of fundraisers based in London and across the UK. The role forms part of the Corporate, Trusts and Major Donor team, whose focus is on sourcing, securing and maximising support for JDRF from companies, grant-giving trusts and foundations and individuals who have the capacity to give at a high level. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To work with the Senior Trusts Fundraiser, Senior Manager- Corporate, Trusts and Major Donors, Senior Corporate Fundraiser, Major Donor Manager and Account Manager to: Research grant-giving trusts, support applications and provide stewardship to ongoing supporters Identify and research corporate new business opportunities, support with applications and manage any assigned relationships/partnerships Support and develop the JDRF Patrons Programme and related events Support the 2016 BlackRock Charity of the Year partnership

3 KEY TASKS To research companies, trusts, and potential Major Donor supporters in order to expand the pipeline of future supporters. Qualify pipeline opportunities, with support from the rest of the team, to maximise the likelihood of success from an approach. To work with the rest of the Corporate, Trusts and Major Donor team in drafting proposals and applications. Manage the monthly trusts mailing programme, securing the planned income target. To follow up all relevant leads, developing these towards the teams income target and plans. To manage and develop any allocated relationships or partnerships. Support team events, including twice-yearly Patrons events and corporate business networking events. To support the Corporate and Trusts team in working closely with Regional Fundraising, including identifying opportunities from existing regional contacts and developing appropriate contacts into a national relationship. To support the day to day running of the Corporate and Trusts department by providing administrative support e.g. financial administration, office administration and database management. To represent JDRF in a prepared and professional manner when attending external meetings and events involving corporate, trusts and major donor supporters. Carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post.

4 PERSON SPECIFICATION Criteria Essential Desirable Experience: Demonstrable experience of developing relationships with key supporters and individuals. Experience of researching and developing new business opportunities. Experience of working as part of a team. Previous Experience working in fundraising, marketing or sales. Skills: Personality: Excellent research and administrative skills. Ability to work independently under own initiative and cooperatively as part of a team. Skilled at developing and maintaining internal and external working relationships at all levels. Ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent attention to detail. Confident, determined, friendly, positive and professional. Results driven. Willingness to develop a sound knowledge of fundraising law and practice Experience of inputting to and running reports from a recognised database. Ability to develop ideas and be creative. Ability to monitor income and expenditure budgets. Education: A-level or equivalent qualification. Member of Institute of Fundraising. Other: Flexibility and willingness to work some unsocial hours. Knowledge of type 1 diabetes, diabetes research and JDRF.
