2 Welcome Hello, and welcome to Creative Bridge. Creative accounting is generally frowned upon of course, but we re looking for a management accountant who is solid on their figures but also up for a new challenge of line management and helping to shape a vibrant, friendly creative business. We re looking for a confident person to produce our accounts, manage our payroll and contribute to supporting the growth of a new team member and our income. This is a chance to make your mark, take that next step in your development and grow into a broader management team member. Based in a country house near Lutterworth in Leicestershire, we re a friendly, full-service marketing and communications agency that s focused on being our clients first call and favourite place for all their needs. Our new management accountant will: Produce our monthly accounts, including profit and loss and ongoing forecasts Manage our cashflow Ensure all billable costs are timely invoiced and collected, with the help of our customer service executive Monitor our margins and report on project profitability Manage our payroll Support our executive and management teams in making financial and resource decisions, by telling us the financial implications and consequences Keep our spending in check, working to our Board-approved budget Review budgets, alongside our executive and management teams Build relationships with our company secretary, auditors, insurers, lawyers and our bank Investigate any project variances and submit variance reports Investigate any activity or costs not billed to the client Maintain and draw up new contracts and letters of agreement, with support from the executive team and other senior staff Tell us where our financial systems could improve and make recommendations for better ways for us to monitor and measure our performance.

3 If you re the person we need for this role, you will have proven experience in a management accounting role, if you re qualified in accounting, and if that s at a creative agency all the better but it s not essential. 5 about the job The successful postholder will: Primary tasks: 1. Produce accurate and timely management accounts, forecasts, and other performance, financial and statistical information, to support the management and growth of the business 2. Oversee and undertake the effective invoicing of activity, credit control and the payment of creditors 3. Effectively produce, monitor and manage the company s cashflow, ensuring that the business operates within its overdraft facility and that cash resources are maintained to best advantage 4. Administer the company s ordering, quoting and pricing systems, acting as a signatory for expenditure and pricing of work 5. Administer the company s payroll and staff expenses efficiently and effectively 6. Prepare VAT returns and build a strong knowledge of VAT linked to our product and service offer 7. Establish and maintain an excellent relationship with the Company Secretary and P3 Group Finance Director, ensuring that any P3 group requirements for financial information are fulfilled and looking to take on the role of Company Secretary in time 8. Liaise effectively with key external bodies, including accountants, auditors, bank, lawyers, insurers and tax authorities. Other financial activity: 9. Have an up to date awareness of accounting, legal and best practice 10. Coordinate and administer the production of the annual budget 11. Ensure that the company s accounts are produced and audited in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements 12. Ensure that the company fulfils its taxation liabilities and has the necessary insurances in place at all times Other activity: 13. Oversee the work of the customer service executive, in relation to the effective day-to-day operation of the office, including its health and safety obligations, its IT, furniture and equipment and office consumables 14. Oversee the effective administration of HR matters with the support of the Managing Director on matters of policy, and the customer service executive on implementation, to include recruitment, training, attendance, performance, management and departure of staff 15. Input to the ongoing review and development of the company s on-line policy and procedures manual, leading regular reviews of all key documents 16. Attend and report to the executive and management teams of the business, and the board of management 17. Work with others, both internally and externally, in a co-operative and confident capacity, including our funders, landlord and auditors 18. Work in accordance with the company s quality standards, procedures and budget at all times 19. Be self-sufficient in administrative terms, ensuring that client contacts, schedules of work, files and records are kept up-to-date and that work is effectively programmed and delivered in accordance with agreed timescales.

6 our perfect candidate Essential skills and experience: A minimum of three years experience in an accountancy role Part or fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent Full working knowledge of Sage A strategic thinker and great planner Desirable skills and experience: Experience of working with a creative agency Management of staff HR administration Facilities management. Lots of experience of working with numbers Evidence of ability to create, nurture and develop relationships Thrives on working to targets and managing budgets A self-starter.
