1 Marketing and Campaign Manager Job description 3 roles available nationally: 1 based in London, 1 based in Birmingham and 1 based in Manchester Start date: Monday, 25 April About Teaching Leaders Teaching Leaders is an innovative not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to address educational disadvantage by growing a movement of outstanding middle leaders in schools in challenging contexts. The organisation was set up in partnership with four of the UK s most forward thinking organisations: Absolute Return for Kids (ARK), the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL), Teach First and Future Leaders. We currently realise our mission by delivering four specific training and development programmes for middle leaders in schools in challenging contexts: the TL Fellows Programme which is focused on retaining and stretching high-potential middle leaders; the TL Primary Programme which is focused on developing teams and individuals; our new TL Schools programme, which is focused on building capacity across groups of middle leaders in one school or across an alliance of schools; and our TL Aspire Programme, which is focused on developing high potential teachers to prepare them to take the step up to middle leadership. The Teaching Leaders Fellows programme was launched in 2008 with an inaugural cohort of 30 and has grown to work with over 1,000 Fellows across more than 500 schools in the South, Midlands & South West and North & North East regions. In 2013 the organisation secured two year funding from the National College for expansion to all regions of England. Our Fellowship has grown substantially year on year, with 400 middle leaders joining the programme nationally in The Teaching Leaders Primary programme was launched in 2014 and has now recruited 500 middle leaders from 200 primary schools across twelve locations in the North, South and Midlands. The TL Primary is a two-year development programme designed for middle leaders who work in primary schools in the most challenging contexts. By building the skills of this critical tier of leadership, the programme aims to have a measurable impact on pupil progress and attainment in English and mathematics. The Teaching Leaders Schools programmes are active in over 100 schools nationally, and offer a bespoke modular development programme for groups of up to 15 middle leaders or those aspiring to middle leadership in one or more schools.

2 The Teaching Leaders Aspire programme is a non-selective programme designed for groups of up to 16 teachers who have shown the potential to become highly effective middle leaders. It focuses on providing aspiring middle leaders with the key tools and theories needed to be a leader of teaching and learning. The Role As Marketing and Campaign Manager, you will lead regional campaign strategy and operations, securing meetings for the field force team to boost lead generation at influencer, school and middle leader level, and will ensure generated nominations and leads convert to sales and applicants across our suite of four programmes. You will have clear oversight of marketing and sales pipelines, tracking and accurately forecasting progress and towards targets on all programmes. In addition to leading campaign operations, you will explore innovative new ways of generating interest in our programmes, whilst refining existing processes. Your role will be office based, line manage one newly recruited School Relations Associate, and task manage existing School Relations Associates (SRAs). You will bring infectious positive and optimistic energy to the team, motivating the SRAs to effectively contact schools and leads, generating meetings and converting leads to applicants, through feedback, quality assurance, and support. With a strong track record in marketing communications, lead generation, PR and achieving ambitious sales targets, you will be set to deliver campaigns that get our regional School Relations team results and enable us to achieve our ambitious sales and recruitment targets. You will work closely with the national Communications Team, representing them in the region and ensuring national campaigns are regionalised for greater impact. You should be an experienced and articulate communicator with exemplary line management and campaign management skills. An astute strategic thinker, you will report to and work closely with the School Relations Associate Director and your fellow Marketing and Campaign Managers in other regions, sharing good practice and ensuring consistency of output. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership and Management Line manage newly recruited School Relations Associate (SRA), and task manage existing SRAs to deliver marketing and campaign operations Bring energy, enthusiasm and positivity to the team and office, supporting SRAs to effectively execute the school and lead contact process through motivating, quality assuring, and giving feedback on campaign activity Lead the day-to-day operations of campaign management including: developing and running school and lead contact/call processes; leading regional weekly lead tracker

3 meetings and participating in influencer/school tracker meetings; monitoring the SRA team s performance and motivating them to achieve targets Campaign Management Manage and refine our existing campaign processes, including lead and school contact via phone campaigns, e-marketing and social media generating meetings for the field force Develop integrated marketing campaign strategies and activity plans for our programmes in line with the national and regional School Relations strategies using channels effectively to achieve campaign targets Personally run key campaigns to target markets such as Alumni or Future Leaders Effectively work with key stakeholders to implement campaign activity including: Communications Team, Alumni Team, Regional Programme Delivery Teams, Leadership Development and the Systems Team Write and edit copy for a range of campaign and promotional printed materials and publications including e-marketing, social media, online tools, case studies, promotional flyers, bespoke influencer materials in liaison with Communications Team Campaign Reporting, Tracking and Analysis Develop sales strategies and set sales input targets in order to achieve phased regional programmatic recruitment and sales targets Ensure each campaign has clear metrics as agreed with the School Relations Associate Director and ensure campaigns are achieving appropriate return on investment in line with targets Provide School Relations Associate Director with weekly and monthly forecasts and optimisation reports of progress against targets Use our Customer Relationship Management system (Salesforce) to track and monitor success of campaigns ensuring the team are keeping Salesforce up to date and data is clean and live Participate in recruitment events and promotional activities as necessary Complete an annual marketing and campaign analysis and review to identify and inform future marketing and campaign strategy Relationship Management Build relationships with school contacts to achieve meeting and lead generation Support the School Relations function with phone meetings or presentations Be an exemplary team player, with the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues across Teaching Leaders; matrix working is central to this role

4 Branding and Materials Ensure brand consistency and integration throughout all Teaching Leaders communications within the region Effectively work with the Communications Team and other Marketing and Campaign Managers to build regional marketing materials (e.g. newsletters, flyers, web content, videos) to support regional and national operations PR and Communications Effectively work with the Communications Team and School Relations Managers to identify regional PR opportunities (online and offline) and write the relevant press releases to sell in to media Deliver exciting and robust regional communications, which deliver consistent and effective messaging across the region and are in line with the national communications strategy Personal Qualities and Experience Mission: a strong commitment to education, the non-profit sector and raising the aspirations, achievement and life chances of all children Essential: experience of meeting ambitious sales targets in a previous role Essential: experience of successfully developing and delivering integrated marketing campaigns across a number of channels and for a number of products, services or programmes in a previous role Essential: experience of successfully managing or leading a team in a previous role Essential: experience of, and ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders Essential: excellent written and spoken communication skills and previous experience of successfully developing communication materials, marketing campaigns, call campaigns and giving presentations in a previous role Essential: entrepreneurial, flexible and creative Essential: experience of campaign management; using different approaches and marketing channels to develop and market a brand/product Essential: significant experience of monitoring, evaluation and analysis in a previous role Essential: knowledge of or interest in the educational landscape Essential: experience of PR Desirable: good knowledge and understanding of the regional media landscape and contacts Desirable: previous experience working in the education or charity sectors Qualifications Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
