Our core values guide how each one of us works in our individual day to day job: Involving others in our work Treating everyone with respect Being the best at what we do Being responsible and accountable Job Purpose Responsible for the day to day running of the Donor Development department which receives donations from, and builds relationships with individual donors. To capture and record data from a variety of sources, to enable Children 1st to build relationships with donors and supporters. To support the Donor Development Manager and Database Officer, to ensure donor records are kept up to date. To be a supportive member of the Donor Development team and assist with meeting fundraising objectives. To support other Fundraising departments and functions as required.

2 Key tasks Office Administration Typing of general correspondence, thank you letters, sending out information and materials about Children 1st s work. Initial contact within fundraising office for all enquiries. Checking and processing of correspondence in the Fundraising mailbox. Processing of sales/orders received for fundraising merchandise. Responsibility for administering all bulk mailings sent on behalf of Donor Development team. Inputting and updating of data on Raiser s Edge fundraising database. Responsibility for Gift Aid claims for the fundraising department. Responsibility for Legacy administration. Responsibility for ordering of office stationery for the department. Responsibility for updating departmental procedures. Responsibility for updating content of the appropriate fundraising pages on Children 1st website. Mail opening and banking run on a rotational basis. Financial Recording of fundraising income on Raiser s Edge fundraising database. Responsibility for producing monthly income reports from Raiser s Edge fundraising database. Processing and recording of invoices for the department. Relationships To establish a close working relationship with the Donor Development team and be a positive and resourceful member of the overall Fundraising team, working on behalf of Children 1st. To attend fundraising and/or administrative meetings as and when required. ADDITIONAL DUTIES Any additional duties will normally be to cover unforeseen circumstances or changes in work, and will usually be appropriate and compatible with the regular type of work. If an additional task or responsibility becomes a regular or frequent part of the job, it will be included in the job description in consultation with the post holder. 4 PERSON SPECIFICATION POST: Fundraising Finances Administrator AREA ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE Qualifications Good standard of Education Secretarial or Administration Qualification Experience Experience of delivering a high standard of organisational and administrative practices Experience of working in an administrative role Experience of working as part of a small team Experience of databases and data entry Experience of dealing with telephone calls Customer Service Skills Excellent organisational skills including ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook Excellent communication skills Strong numerical skills working with financial information Knowledge of Raiser s Edge (Fundraising Database)
