Qualifications Has trusted Jesus Christ as personal Savior Has Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent experience Understands basic procedures and controls of accounting and financial systems including accounts payable, general ledger, and reconciliation of accounts Is proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and able to learn specialized software Possesses strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and planning as well as effective written and oral communication skills Possesses high integrity and can be trusted with confidential information Is able to prioritize multiple tasks and navigate within a changing environment Is a regular participant in Sunday worship and Bible Study, tither, and supporter of WTC s vision Has a teachable spirit and is able to work with others or independently as appropriate Has effective written and oral communication skills Major Areas of Responsibility Accounting and Finance Maintain accuracy of ACS financial data including contributions, online giving, and expense report data entry Review all invoices/requests for payment to ensure integrity and proper authorization and account coding Maintain vendor files and interact with vendors regarding billing or payment questions Reconcile bank statements and general ledger with income deposits and expense data Process returned items Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedule Assist with annual financial audit Budget Development Review and assist with budget worksheets/recommendations for ministry areas in conjunction with divisional directors in annual budget process Prepare reports analyzing historical data to support budget preparation Support Assist with the development and implementation of financial policies Serve as liaison with divisional directors and ministry leaders to provide budget information, answer questions, and resolve any financial issues Oversee storage of church financial records and arrange for proper and timely disposal in compliance with record retention regulations
