3 POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: Position Status: Hours: Location: Reports to: Salary: Qualifications: Full time 38 hrs / week The position is based in WCF s Bomaderry Office but will be responsible for delivering services to children and families in the Shoalhaven and Illawarra Operations Manager Contract by negotiation Appropriate endorsement by the Psychologist Registration Board Competencies: Ability to Perform psychological assessment of children, young people, their families and foster families; Implement behaviour management services consistent with WCF s Behaviour Management Policy; Deliver high-level training to WCF staff (Education and OoHC) and carers; Understand and implement evidence based therapeutic interventions; Undertake assessment on children involved in WCF s programs for the purpose of research; Develop, review and implement behaviour management plans for WCF s OoHC and Education programs. 4 Ability to Relate to children and young people who display challenging behaviours; Write high quality professional reports; Liaise professionally with other organisations; Function as part of a team. Must have - Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills; High-level verbal and written communication and computer skills and Current driver s license. Objectives: Ensure the provision of the highest quality psychological services to clients of WCF. Monitoring of any of WCF s psychological work that is contract to external agencies. Provide clinical advice to the management of WCF as required. Enhance the capacity of WCF to support children who have complex behavioural problems in both an educational and OoHC setting. Key Responsibilities: 1. Provide psychological services to clients Undertake and report on psychological assessments on children, young people and families; Design, evaluate and assist in the implementation of evidence based psychological interventions and other programs for children, young people and families; Prepare and assist in the implementation of individual case plans for all clients; Consult and liaise regularly with families, carers, advocates and significant others.. Objectives: Ensure the provision of the highest quality psychological services to clients of WCF. Monitoring of any of WCF s psychological work that is contract to external agencies.

5 2. Conduct research Conduct research in consultation and evaluation of William Campbell Foundation s programs. 3. Provide clinical advice to WCF staff and carers Contribute to the design and evaluation of William Campbell Foundation s programs; Debrief staff after critical incidents as required; Provide advice to William Campbell Foundation staff where required; Provide training and practical hands on strategies to support carers at various times if / when required. 4. Administration Maintain accurate and comprehensive records and case notes in accordance with policy; Ensure the security of client files. 5. Supervision and Teamwork Participate in monthly supervision with Supervisor; Attend team meetings or casework supervision meetings as required. 6. Training Provide and present training to WCF staff and carers; Attend relevant training as required. 7. Policies and Procedures Abide by WCF s Policies and Procedures. 8. Occupational Health & Safety Report safety hazards to the Operations Manager; Actively promote safe work practices in the workplace; Ensure all work is completed in a way that is consistent with WCF s occupational health and safety program. Child Protection Report to FaCS all cases of suspected risk of harm to children and / or young people as per WCF Policies and Procedures; Assist in the reporting and investigation of all relevant issues as prescribed by the NSW Ombudsman if required. 10. Other Duties Complete other duties as directed by Supervisor. Review Annual Performance and Salary Review by General Manager and / or Operations Manager. 7 SELECTION CRITERIA 1. Appropriate Psychology qualifications and registration. 2. Demonstrated experience working with children, young people and families. 3. Understanding of the requirements of the Office of the Children s Guardian with respect to the implementation of behaviour management within OoHC. 7. Demonstrated experience in working with children who exhibit challenging behaviours and an ability to undertake comprehensive assessments and develop behaviour management plans. 8.
