Websites have seen success when content is well written, with attention to grammar and spelling. Content: Keywords Keyword research is the foundation of all on-site SEO. Content: Engagement Engagement is about whether visitors spend time reading your content or bounce quickly away and is based on several factors: Meaningful content Look good and easy readability Page layout Font selection line spacing. Navigation Must have fresh, consistent blog posts &/or social media updates. These will all help with visitor engagement metrics such as time on page/time on site. HTML: Titles, Descriptions, Tags and Headers Title tags that are optimized for important keywords and write unique descriptions for every page around 150 characters. Architecture: Speed Most websites are not going to see an SEO benefit from increasing the speed of their website. Architecture: Mobile Since the tide has shifted towards mobile, websites must be mobile friendly. All these items must be properly optimized so that Google can find the website and it s content and index it.

If your site is not coded to be Responsive, it will no longer be accessible from phone or tablet search results. This impacts you and your business...dramatically. If your site and it is not currently Responsive, you stand to lose all traffic to your website from phones and tablets. Google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly

Google likes to see Multiple listings of the same name, address, website and phone number. Need to optimize Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yelp, and up to 100 additional online directories with 21 steps including but not limited to a keyword rich business description, photos, coupons, special offers, announcements and reviews.

17 Link Building You may have a beautiful website, but if no one is linking to you, then you re nearly nonexistent in digital terms. While this logic is simple, the actual process of getting those links to your website a practice known as link building

18 Link Building When we say inbound link we re talking about any hyperlink that sends users from one website directly to yours. As you can imagine, inbound links can appear in an infinite number of ways such as shared content on Facebook, retweets on Twitter, referrals via a URL in a YouTube video, a pin on Pinterest re-pinned 100 times over, a strategically placed read more link in an marketing campaign, and many, many other options. Inbound links can be paid or unpaid. Straight to your front page or to an individual blog post. They can be sent through an image or through a text link.

19 Link Building There s no cheap or easy way to get ahead with link building, they must be high quality inbound links. Google search algorithms have become amazingly complex while remaining proprietary. The process takes many months, and immediate results are rare. Examples of where inbound links are created: Forums Comment marketing (community building) Word of mouth Blogging Social networks News sites Q & A sites Direct referral links Social Bookmarking

20 Link Building The benefit of link building is that Google recognizes all of the inbound links and then ranks your website higher in the Search Engine Results. With an effective link building campaign, a website can go from irrelevant to front page results.

29 Craigslist Craigslist is the 7 th most popular website in the U.S. In addition, your ad can rank on the front page of Google. It s free but be sure to write and post a keyword rich compelling ad along with links to your website and include photos and remember to re-post twice a week.
