Outer London Weighting Period: Permanent Reporting to: Head of Recruitment Relationships Reporting to Job Holder: Student Recruitment Marketing Officer (Recruitment Relationships) (x4) Overall Purpose: Responsible for planning, developing and managing the portfolio of events and recruitment activities within the Student Marketing and Recruitment department. Leading on an overall customer communication and engagement plan, aimed at increasing conversion rates at all stages of enquirer and applicant journey. Managing a team of four Student Recruitment Marketing Officers responsible for the overall delivery of all events, communication plans and recruitment projects and ensuring all customer touch points reflect MDX commitment to excellent customer service and student experience. This role will require strong planning and organisational skills, good negotiation, communication and people management skills required to cooperate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (academics, services, suppliers, partner boroughs, etc). Recruitment Relationships Manager will be responsible for embedding customer satisfaction across the range of events and customer focused activities. Understanding of competitive environment, customer needs and ability to work creatively to transcribe ideas and objectives into operational plans, with clear timelines and focused deliverables is essential. Events Management: Development, management, implementation of and overall responsibility for the Student Marketing and Recruitment events focused on prospective and current students, including Outreach events. Responsible for overall planning and management of events framework and delivering against objectives specific to particular customer groups (UG and PG prospective student, current MDX students and pupils at target schools and colleges). Setting clear, ambitious and achievable targets for all recruitment activities and events; monitoring, evaluating and feeding the insight back to active plans, adapting the deliverables.

2 Managing the budget for Recruitment Relationship Teams, ensuring effective use of resources and appropriate resource allocation in line with overall Student Marketing and Recruitment priorities. Strong focus on streamlining event management processes across the portfolio. Managing relationships with key internal stakeholders, including MU Academics and services that play pivotal role in the success of recruitment initiatives and activities. Customer Service and Satisfaction: Managing a framework of qualitative and quantitative measures that would allow Recruitment Relationships team effectively embed, measure, monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction for all recruitment activities and events. Responsibility for active monitoring of customer needs and development of ideas and initiatives to ensure the above are met. Ensuring all touch points with customers have a clear focus, functional framework and Middlesex University messages are clearly embedded throughout the portfolio of recruitment activities and initiatives. Any other duties required by the Director of Student Marketing and Recruitment which are consistent with the grade of the post Customer Relationship Management Developing and implementing an overarching customer communication plan in relation to customer information needs particular to specific points in applicant or enquirer journey. Propose and agree conversion targets for all parts for the CRM plan, including event specific communication plans, Responsibility for regular updates on effectiveness of these plans (overall and particular parts) against targets and adapt all communication plans to reflect the changing needs of target audiences. Social Media Leading on strategy for the use of digital media, specifically social media, to ensure all leading customer communication channels are used appropriately, and in response to the needs of customers, Ensure that all engagement with all prospective and current students actively supports all other team activities, Embed service level standards and processes for appropriate use of social media. Portfolio Alignment Leading on the development of subject level events, agreeing key subject areas with relevant internal stakeholders, setting objectives for all activities and communication plans, that would reflect MU recruitment targets

3 Copywriting Overview and ownership of copy, where relevant to Recruitment Relationship Team, Ensuring all officers have a clear understanding of the motivations of the target market, Oversee all customer facing communication plans and messages that have clear content and (where applicable) call to action and actively encourage various target audiences to interact with MDX, to ensure recruitment objectives are embedded throughout all customer touch points, Ensure copy is informed by and strengthens universities overall brand positioning and reflects MDX values that correspond to specific target audience needs, Customer Benchmarking Lead on the development of customer benchmarking tools and analyses, to understand activities undertaken by competitors with a focus on recruitment, events, communication and overall customer touch points, Keep abreast of new marketing techniques to ensure MDX activities respond to target audience needs.

4 PERSON SPECIFICATION Job Title: Campus: Recruitment Relationships Manager Hendon Selection Criteria: ESSENTIAL: DESIRABLE: Hours: Leave: Relevant Marketing degree, or equivalent experience, Excellent interpersonal skills combined with assertive personality, Proven organisational and project management skills required to manage an extensive portfolio of events and activities, Successful experience in leading and directing multiple tasks in a busy environment, Knowledge of the HE sector and/or detailed knowledge of the target audience for recruitment to programmes Ability and experience in setting, monitoring and reporting against targets to key internal stakeholders Budget management skills with a focus on value for money/return on investment Ability to lead and direct a team Experience in use of innovative techniques to deliver against goals Knowledge of UK education system including Schools and FE colleges, Experience of UK student recruitment and marketing Flexibility and resourcefulness in work Experience of budget control and management Ability and willingness to travel to locations in the London Project management experience Understanding of UCAS and other admissions systems Knowledge of global HE systems The nature of the post is such that the post holder will be expected to work flexibly and for such reasonable hours as are necessary in order to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the post. Occasional work on Saturdays and in the evenings is required. 30 days per annum (grades 6 and above) plus six University days taken in conjunction with Bank Holidays No Parking at Hendon campus: There are no parking facilities for staff joining our Hendon campus, except for Blue Badge holders.
