LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of this live conference, participants should be able to: Integrate into daily practice evidence-based recommendations on new and emerging therapies for common and uncommon dermatologic diseases. Implement updated strategies for managing acne, rosacea, and actinic keratosis. Explain the roles of biologic agents in the treatment of psoriasis and appropriately incorporate newer biologics into therapeutic practice. Describe the mechanisms of action, efficacy, and safety of the biologic agents used to treat psoriasis. Analyze treatment approaches for the pediatric patient with common as well as complex skin diseases. Incorporate the recent advances in understanding and treating pediatric dermatology issues such as atopic dermatitis and pediatric acne. Discuss new approaches to therapy including pathway targeted therapy in the treatment of melanoma. Analyze emerging treatments for tinea and onychomycosis. Appropriately incorporate into clinical practice one or more of the targeted treatments that act on the Hedgehog pathway in the treatment of basal cell carcinoma. Assess the role of diagnostic tools including dermoscopy and technology in diagnosis and detection of skin cancers. Recognize urticaria and how to deal with itch. Identify the factors that are important in selecting appropriate filler agents for treating different areas of the face and targeted planar depths. Compare and contrast the efficacy and safety of agents, devices, and techniques currently available in aesthetic and procedural dermatology. Determine the appropriate nonsurgical techniques for facial rejuvenation. Discuss the latest recommendations for patch testing/phototesting and explain how they should be used to improve the treatment of allergic conditions. Utilize enhanced practice management techniques and tools to increase office efficiency and facilitate patient care. About the SDEF MOC-D Program: General Dermatology Module The 25 self-assessment questions will cover medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and procedural dermatology including cosmetic dermatology. MOC-D Live Session: Monday, March 2, 2015 from 4:00-5:30 PM. Discussion will highlight the correct answer, why it was correct, and why the incorrect answers were incorrect. Discussions will be evidence-based and will include references. Audience members will be able to compare their answer to the correct answer, and to the responses of the entire audience to each question. Each enrolled audience member shall receive a certifi cate of participation from SDEF. Approximately 8-10 weeks after the conclusion of the conference, participants will receive a transcript of the MOC-D selfassessment discussions, as well as to the audience performance of the MOC-D selfassessment questions.
