1 The Hamilton Law Association exists to enable its members to become successful, respected and fulfilled in their profession.
T he Hamilton Law Association s affairs are governed by trustees and officers who ensure that Association undertakings are within the mandate and in the best interests of our legal community. The many valued volunteers who are members of the numerous committees within the structure of the HLA strive to represent our membership consistently and effectively. The Anthony Pepe Memorial Law Library, operated within the scope of the HLA, is one of the largest law libraries in Ontario and houses over 30,000 volumes. Our membership is comprised of over 900 members of the legal community in the Hamilton and surrounding areas. We offer a wide variety of educational programs ranging from small one-hour lunch seminars held in our courthouse to full-day events at downtown Hamilton banquet facilities. Most programs are geared towards a particular area of the bar and often attract professionals from other organizations, such as the financial and insurance industries. Several organizations in our community have found that our programs provide an excellent opportunity to promote their products and services, and numerous organizations sponsor many of our events year after year.
