Event Overview 2004 2014 Celebrating 10 Years! ABOUT DANVILLE d ELEGANCE FOUNDATION: Danville Concours d Elegance is a two-day fund raising event supporting the quest to find a cure for Parkinson s Disease and stop Parkinson s in its tracks. To ensure the largest amount of money donated to this charity, this event is planned, supported, and run completely by a team of volunteers, whose lives have been touched by Parkinson s Disease, and by the generous support of our corporate and personal sponsors. To date, this event has raised more than $2 million for Parkinson s research and patient care. It is estimated that 6.3 million people worldwide, of which 1.5 million Americans, age 50 and over, have Parkinson s and this number is increasing. While the majority of those diagnosed with Parkinson s are inflicted with late-onset (after the age of 40), early-onset (before the age of 40) impacts between 5-10% of the total Parkinson s population. Parkinson s research depends on National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants and private donations, so we need your help! Our two day event, now in its tenth year, begins with our Tour d Elegance which is an exciting round-trip rally style tour from Danville/Lafayette area, through some of the most spectacular winding roads in the greater Bay Area, including a catered lunch stop. Later Saturday evening is our annual Gala Dinner and Live Auction at The Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville, California. Our Gala dinner attracts over 300 prominent community leaders and corporate decision makers. The following day is our crown jewel, the Danville Concours d Elegance. This specialty auto show, held on the streets of downtown Danville, CA, is open to the public to raise funds for Parkinson s research and patient care. Over 8,000 people typically attend this free event, which includes over 250 performance and collectable autos, wooden boats, food, wine tasting, a silent auction, great music, raffles, and impromptu celebrity appearances. OUR MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the Danville d Elegance Foundation is to support organizations in the quest to find a cure for Parkinson s disease through research and patient care. Our two primary beneficiaries are the globally recognized Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson s Research and The Parkinson s Institute in Sunnyvale, California.
