2 Sponsorship Opportunities Houston s 12K of Christmas is the first and only of its kind. It is 7.45 miles (12 Kilometers) of Christmas-themed fun! The run will start and finish in the beautiful Discovery Green and wind through the streets of Downtown Houston. It s a timed event that welcomes the serious runner and a fun event welcoming those ready to conquer their fitness goals. Yellowstone Academy Yellowstone Academy was established in July 2001 for the purpose of establishing a high quality faith-based private school for students living in poverty. After a year of intensive planning, Yellowstone Academy opened in August 2002 with 64 pre-school students. In 2006, Yellowstone Academy purchased a former elementary school building from the Houston Independent School District and in May 2009, Yellowstone completed construction of a new gym. Yellowstone has added a grade each year and now serves more than 300 children from Pre-K through eighth grade. In 2012, Yellowstone celebrated its 10th Anniversary as well as its first 8 th grade graduating class. The vision of Yellowstone Academy rests on the view that the situation in Houston s inner city is neither hopeless nor inevitable. We believe that poverty is more a function of circumstances than inherent attributes such as race or ethnicity. The good news is that circumstances can change, but the individual in these circumstances must also believe they can change and know how to make that change. Yellowstone Academy was created to provide a strong educational platform, coupled with programs to provide life skills and promote self-confidence and selfsufficiency so that our students have opportunities to break the cycle of poverty. Yellowstone Academy s goal is to help students be successful and ultimately become confident, independent, contributing members of society.

3 Publicity Publicity for Houston s 12K of Christmas includes, but is not limited to, press releases, newspaper advertisements, television and radio station support, and social media through Facebook and Twitter, in addition to local business distributions. We expect to have representation from a station, as a core sponsor, offering a live personality on the day of the event along with extended media exposure leading up to the event.
