Index TV-Cables (04-09) The standard TV cables contain a range of custom designed multi conductor cables for use with underwater TV systems and other equipment. These cables contain a variety of coaxes, twisted pairs and power conductors to allow cameras, lights and pan & tilt units to be powered, controlled and video images carried to the surface. The cables all have Polyurethane outer jackets, allowing them to be easily moulded to connectors to make underwater cable harness assemblies. Combined Power/Signal Cables (10-15) Cables in this section contain a mixture of power conductors and shielded twisted pairs cabled together within a Polyurethane outer jacket. From the simple, two power conductors and one shielded pair, to the more complex cables, there is bound to be a cable that will meet your needs. These cables are ideal for the construction of harness assemblies for transmission of data from point to point. Instrumentation Cables (16-25) The instrumentation cables contain a number of cables for a variety of purposes. From one shielded twisted pair to several shielded twisted pairs or single conductors with overall shield. Cables in this section have Polyurethane outer jacket, allowing them to be easily moulded to connectors to make underwater cable harness assemblies. Fibre Optic Cables (26-30) in these cables has undergone many years of development and has a long track record of successful operation down to 6000 meters water depth. The individual elements are combined and packaged within a Polyurethane outer jacket providing additional protection range. Special Cables (31-32) Our program for these cables covers most of the market demands. These include long steel armoured tow cables for sophisticated military arrays to short lengths of instrument cables for CTD probes. Fibre optic cables are playing an increasingly important role in this section of the market and our in-house engineering can support our customers with cable and termination designs and advise on tow characteristics etc. Non Stock Cables (33) Sonar & Acoustic System Cables Video System Umbilicals ROV and Trencher Umbilicals Dynamic Cable Ancilliary Products Terminations (34-35) Our standard shackle or fork terminations are safe and reliable methods of connecting cable to towed underwater vehicles or for lifting a heavy object, such as a down-hole camera system. Terminating and moulding the cable to a connector ensures a watertight connection from cable to system. MacArtney stocks standard terminations for steel armoured or Kevlar armoured cables with diameters of 6 to 14mm and loads of up to 1500kg. We also have extensive experience of designing terminations for loads of up to 100 tonnes.

Non stock cables Sonar & Acoustic System Cables Historically side scan sonar systems were towed by multi-core steel or aramide armoured cables. Although these cable types are still an industry standard, there has been an upsurge in acoustic, digital and telemetry technology which demand a new approach to cable engineering. We supply the complete range of cables for acoustic applications including armoured coaxial cables for side the most advanced acoustic systems. Video System Umbilicals The advances in underwater vision systems have developed dramatically over the years. This has led to new designs in cables using sophisticated transmission systems with multiple broad band channels. We supply traditional diver, sewer inspection and well head TV system cables, however, we are transmission systems for security systems, ROV & ROTV systems, underwater trenchers and ploughs. ROV and Trencher Umbilicals As ROV systems get larger, more powerful and operate in deeper waters, the demand on the cable system becomes a critical issue. Fibre optic, high voltage umbilicals are now common place and we supply standard and special designs to this market. These include steel armoured lift umbilicals and aramide reinforced tether cables. Also part of our program are neutrally buoyant tethers for Tether Management Systems and smaller ROV systems. We have also designed and built special cables for long excursion (tunnel inspection). Dynamic Cable Ancilliary Products Traditionally dynamic cables and terminations have been considered to be the weak link in the reliability ofunderwatersystem s.m acartney has always viewed a dynamic cable as a system which includes connectors, mechanical terminations, protection, buoyancy, sheaves, handling systems etc. To support our in-house engineered designs, we also supply a complete range of winch systems, slip rings, cable moulding, underwater electrical and optical connectors, mechanical terminations, penetrators, cable buoyancy, sheaves and cable status indicators fully supported by our in-house 33

Terminations Standard Steel Termination Our standard shackle or fork terminations are safe and reliable methods of connecting cable to towed underwater vehicles or for lifting a heavy object, such as a down-hole camera system. Bend Restrictors & Bend Stiffeners Bend restrictors and stiffeners are designed to minimse sharp cable bends, protecting them from stress damage and kinks. They mechanically limit the bend and prevent unwanted tension. Chamber Terminations MacArtney chamber terminations connect a cable to a specially designed connector. The chamber transfers the entire force from the cable to the steel parts of the termination, maintaining the safe working load of the cable throughout the connection. The chambers makes it possible to replace the connector or cable relatively easily re-using the metal termination parts. Oil Compensation either with an internal bladder or an external reservoir. They can be PE Mouldings PE moulding is a secure and economical method of connecting PE jacketed cables and connectors without the need for an oil compensated system. A special hot moulding machine forces PE moulding material into the moulding form under high pressure, 34

Extension & Take Out of Fibre Optic Extensionand takeout terminationsareusedwhencableshave been damaged or if they need to be extended to reach new locations. main cable. The terminations are usually designed to have the same working load and depth rating as the cable, and are often designed with a lifespan of 10 to 15 years in seawater. Penetrators MacArtney makes a broad range of standard and customer-designed penetratorsforuseatalwaterdepths evenfuloceandepth. Penetrators are designed to connect systems to infrastructure, and optic transmissions. They are available with or without internal water cables, or combinations of both. MacArtney penetrators are available with a range of housing types or with custom made housing. They are delivered with 1 metre pigtails and ST connectors as standard. Optolink Fibre penetrator withstand the challenges of system infrastructure at pressures of up to 600 bars. It is completely blocked on both sides, so even if the cable is damaged, water will not enter. It is available with 3 types of housing; custom made housing. They are interchangeable and can be replaced delivered with 1 metre pigtails and ST connectors as standard. FITA Field Installable Termination Assembly system that assembles a harness cable or array of harness cables to a cable, typically from subsea control systems to an umbilical. The FITA can be assembled on site without the need for mouldings. termination entirely watertight at every level. FITA terminations are oil compensated, maintaining the same pressure inside the termination as outside. This allows them to operate at 600 bars without the need 4-6 months. 35
