From emergency relief to long-term development, Save the Children secures a child s right to health, education and protection. Save the Children Australia manages and implements programs in Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. We also support development programs through our global networks in selected countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. KEY PURPOSE OF POSITION The Gifts in Wills Manager is a member of the National Partnership Team, which is responsible for growing income from corporations, trusts and foundations, high value donors and Gifts in Wills (GIW). This position will be responsible for developing and implementing a GIW strategy to increase the number of supporters with confirmed GIW to Save the Children and ultimately will drive growth in GIW revenue. The role will include developing communication / marketing plans and promotional material for the GIW program, and developing and nurturing relationships with supporters with a confirmed GIW, those supporters with the potential to include a GIW and key advisors / influencers. The role will also ensure the efficient and effective administration of all estates in which Save the Children has been named as a beneficiary to maximise income from GIW. Establish recognition activities to acknowledge the major contribution to the community of those who include a GIW supporting our work. Raise all income in a cost-effective basis and in a manner which evaluates risk and protects the integrity of the brand. RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS Initiate, maintain and develop relationships with supporters who have the potential to include a GIW to increase the number of supporters with a confirmed GIW. Cultivate relationships with high value donors and key advisors through networking, telephone contact and home visits. Develop and manage opportunities for In Memoriam supporters. Provide timely response to, and handling of, donor requirements (correspondence, phone calls etc) Manage key relationships within Save the Children to ensure all parties work collaboratively. Develop and maintain accurate records within the donor database to identify existing supporters with a confirmed GIW and supporters with the potential to include a GIW. STAKEHOLDER COMMUNICATIONS the Raiser s Edge database, noting details of the GIW (where known), donations received or planned, personal visits and other relevant personal information (within Privacy guidelines). In conjunction with the marketing department, develop a GIW Marketing and Communications Strategy that successfully promotes GIW. Develop communication processes that effectively acknowledge the contribution of supporters with GIW and ensure they are recognised and feel valued. Develop relevant information packs and website information for GIW prospects, advisors etc Liaise with Marketing department on advertising and editorial placement, and implementation of promotional GIW articles in Save the Children s publications. Collaborate with Direct Marketing and Donor Relations teams to incorporate the GIW program into all aspects of the Donor Cycle. Implement and follow-up on Direct Mail campaigns and supporter surveys to identify additional interest in GIW from amongst existing supporters. Leverage opportunities to promote GIW to new audiences through the work of the Include a Charity campaign. Engage State Offices and Community Engagement teams in the development of the GIW program at a local level. Gifts in Will Manager Feb 2012 3
EVENT COORDINATION MONOTORING, ADVISING and REPORTING In conjunction with the Marketing department, develop a calendar of events to promote the GIW program and steward supporters with confirmed GIW. Prepare invitation lists and brief Marketing and state office staff on event management requirements, invitations, guest speakers etc Prepare a monthly report on the number of supporters within the GIW program, including numbers of confirmed GIW and changes in GIW status of supporters from Initial Interest, Consideration, Intention to Confirmed GIW. Work closely with the Director Services and the Programs Team to provide recommendations to the Executive Team about the use of significant GIW.
