1 Role Profile Job Title Role Profile Title Fundraising Operations Manager (South and East England, including London) Fundraising Operations Manager Role Profile Department Fundraising Operations Team, RSPB Fundraising Direct (RFD) Location South and East England (Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, west Dorset, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, South Oxfordshire, South Buckinghamshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Greater and Central London) Reports to General Manager Direct Reports (including Volunteers) Area Managers x4 Salary Range 35,000-42,000 per annum Closing Date Friday 1 st July Interview Date w/c 11 th July Job Purpose To lead, manage and motivate a team of four Area Managers (and by extension Face-to-Face Field Fundraisers) operating within RSPB Fundraising Direct to deliver high quality, high volume new membership-based supporters for the RSPB. To ensure the team operates at all times within best practice and compliance guidelines. To drive cultural and operational change in a fluid marketplace. To represent the fundraising team on the Senior Management Team.

2 Key Result Areas Successful fundraising performance, with the South Central, South East, East and London regional teams all achieving required KPIs Fundraising team achieving and exceeding expected standards of compliance and behaviour Delivering and exceeding own individual key objectives (KPIs) set by the General Manager Role modelling RSPB cultural values Successful delivery of allocated projects Positive feedback from internal colleagues (SMT, Venue Team, Area Management team, Support Services and Fundraisers) Key Contacts and Working Relationships Internal External General Manager to agree objectives and overall fundraising strategy Other RSPB membership recruitment teams Area Management Team to lead, motivate and develop the Field Fundraising team Venue & Support Services Team Store and venue managers: developing new and maintaining existing private site relationships for fundraising purposes and opportunities. Senior Management Team RSPB HQ / Region and Country colleagues.

3 Financial Responsibility To operate and be responsible for financial due diligence and operating performance within agreed levels of authority. Essential qualifications Educated to A level standard or above. Other leadership/management training, development or qualifications are advantageous Essential knowledge Excellent understanding of face-to-face fundraising or face-to-face sales Excellent understanding of field-based/remote management techniques Excellent understanding of performance management best practice Strong understanding of training and learning programmes, and long term individual development Change management best practice Comprehensive use of Microsoft packages, including Word, Outlook and Excel. Main elements of the regulations relevant to sales management and charity fundraising, specifically IOF and PFRA guidelines Employment law best practice Basic understanding of issues facing the environment and nature conservation Good understanding of RSPB key campaigns, projects and initiatives. Essential skills Creative thinking and an open mind Ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve their targets Ability to innovate and adapt to new circumstances in a changing environment Ability to communicate articulately both verbally and in writing. Ability to prioritise and manage own workload effectively. Ability to identify strengths and development needs, and give appropriate feedback. Excellent presentation and training delivery skills Ability to clearly articulate detailed reporting both verbally and in writing.
