1 Job details Job title: Communications Manager Responsible to: Head of Communications Responsible for: Posts in the Communications Location: Liverpool with travel across all locations Overview of the role The overall purpose of the Communications Manager role is to work in partnership with the Leadership team and managers across the business to develop a strategic approach to all marketing communications to support the successful delivery of corporate objectives. To work with the Head of Communications and key stakeholders including the media on the development and implementation of al strategies. Developing and delivering appropriate communications campaigns flowing from these strategies for dissemination both within and outside of the organisation. To ensure that the communications service is responsive, cost effective and provides innovative solutions that strengthen, the organisation s reputation. The post holder will deputise for the Head of Communications and will provide management support across the whole communications ; this includes managing staff and being responsible for all areas of performance within the team. Main responsibilities and accountabilities Leadership Provide management to staff within the As part of the communications management team to work to embed Plus Dane s vision, values and chosen organisational culture Consult with, influence and build strong relationships with key external stakeholders Strategy With the Head of Communications lead on the development and successful implementation of strategies, business and financial plans in the Communications Shape the communications service to meet the needs of customers, stakeholders (internal and external), including partnership working, employee engagement and identifying innovation initiatives. To work with the leadership team to help shape Plus Dane s overall corporate strategies and business plans. To develop effective issue based media strategies that protect the reputation of the organisation

2 Performance management To holistically manage performance of the team and to develop and ensure KPIs are met To set and be accountable for the performance of the team and be accountable for the achievement of targets, goals, objectives etc. Ensure a strong internal communications culture across Plus Dane through the development and management of an internal communications strategy Lead on initiatives to deliver business improvements within the Communications Promote a customer and performance focussed culture within the Communications Responsible for the delivery of all programmes of work within the Communications Finances, budgets and resources Accountable for the delivery of budgets within the. Ensure all of Plus Dane s assets and resources are used efficiently and effectively and delivered in line with the Value for Money Strategy. Governance Ensure that Plus Dane operates within all regulatory guidance, statutory and legislative requirements. Responsible for the identification and management of risks within the and support risk management activities across the rest of the organisation. Management Provide clear management and direction to all staff within the. Encourage and promote cross al working between teams across Plus Dane. Functional Responsible for delivering and supporting the delivery of all communications programmes of work across the organisation Other Provide expert professional advice to the Board, Leadership Team and staff as required Ensure all work is aligned to the vision and values of Plus Dane Ensure that all al strategies, policies, processes and guidance notes are up to date in line with best practice / current legislation. Carry out all other duties as may be reasonably assigned from time to time with the level of this job description
