Welcome to RHULSPORT RHULSPORT and the Students Union bring together all sports at all levels of ability from the elite athletes and performance sports teams to opportunities for general participation. Our facilities are open to all Students, Staff and local community residents as part of a membership or on a pay to play basis. We hope that through this brochure you will find all the information you require to plan your visit. Every effort has been made to maintain the accuracy of our prices, schedules and information in this brochure. We also have a multi-purpose studio for general use along with holding some of the exercise classes. Our class timetable can be found on pages 6-7. You can buy your gym membership directly from the Sports Centre reception or it is available to buy online now at: www.rhul.ac.uk/sports/fitnesssuite For the 2013/2014 academic year we have the following options. Each option is for a full 12 month period, unless otherwise stated. You will spend a full hour with an instructor who will run through the exercises and techniques of the programme as well as provide some nutritional advice to help you reach your goals. You will also be given a card detailing your personal workout programme, allowing you to tailor your training around your own schedule. Follow up sessions and re-programmes also available. Class descriptions Ab Attack 30 minutes of pure abs to tone and strengthen your core Aerotone A combination of choreographed heart raising movements & toning exercises Boxercise A high energy class, involving movements based on boxing Work hard for short periods with mixture of aerobic, resistance and core exercises guaranteed to work the body from head to toe Functional Move quickly around a range of exercise stations using speciality equipment like TRX, kettle bells, medicine balls and power bags HIIT High Intensity Interval Training class is a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout. This interval-based class combines full-body strength training with high intensity cardio bursts designed to tone your body, improve your endurance and clear your mind in half the time LBT An easy to follow, low impact class concentrating on the Legs, Bums and Tums Pilates Consists of slow flowing movements, concentrating on balance and co-ordination. Once you have this membership you can join as many clubs and societies as you wish, although we advise you not to rush into joining too many before knowing your timetable.
