PE Audit of Equipment
Equipment Current Status q Overall the school is well equipped with the majority of equipment in a new or good condition. q There are sufficient resources for the major team sports (Tennis, Rugby, Basketball, Cricket and Rounders). q Teaching resources are available, although these are not organised well. q Until now the PE equipment has been kept under lock and key. q Equipment is kept in a disorganised way which isn t easily accessible. Noticeable Gaps q No line markings in either halls. q Significant gap in equipment provision for Gymnastics, Football and Netball. q Poor storage of equipment. q Low level of staff awareness of PE equipment and resources available. Actions to be taken q Discuss with SLT possibility of marking halls. q Order in missing equipment. q Order new storage and arrange for setup and transfer of equipment. q Use and staff meetings to update staff and make people aware of resources and equipment available.
Pupil Voice
Pupil Voice A selection of children were interviewed from Year 1 to Year 6 to find out the current opinion on PE. PE Lesson Sports Day q The majority of children sampled said that PE was one of their favourite subjects. q The most enjoyable aspect of PE were the warm ups, feeling energetic, and the various games that are played during the lesson. q Most pupils did not find PE challenging with 52% stating that it was too easy. q Nearly all pupils wanted to have more PE lessons, most commented that they are currently only taught by Mr Smith. Teachers were not teaching the PE themselves due to lack of time, hall space and poor behaviour from pupils. PE Kit q All children were very upset that Sports Day was cancelled last year. q They stated that competition, racing and being able to show off their skills in front of parents were the best parts about Sports Day. q All children said that they would like to have Sports Day this year and were happy to compete in House Colours. Improvement to PE q The main reasons for forgetting PE kit was due to a rush on Mondays or not knowing when their PE day is. q Children said that they often had to sit out and watch or read a book if they had forgotten their PE kit. q The majority of children wanted to play more games within lessons. q They also felt that the school needed more equipment. q They would like to be taught PE by their teachers as well as Mr Smith. 19 children from Year 1 to Year 6 were interviewed.
How does PE make you feel? Sweaty Excited Joyful Active Energetic PE Hot Strong Great Happy Tired Pupil Voice from Year 1 to Year 6 pupils.
