2 BASKETBALL LOYOLA Basketball Club in collaboration with CHS & SMC Experience life through playing basketball The Loyola School of Basketball, launched in 1998, offers a professionally run developmental Programme for both beginners and established players which includes skill training, movement and co-ordination, learning of the basic fundamentals of Basketball, while also participating in tournaments and foreign camps and in the local MBA leagues/competitions. 3 FENCING Coaching provided by En Garde Fencing Club En Garde Fencing Club has been organising fencing lessons for Chiswick House School and St Martin s College pupils since The three instructors, Kenneth Spiteri, Daniel Sammut and Antoine Bonello hold the Diploma as Maestro di Scherma from the Accademia of Naples, whilst they are also Masters of the International Academy of Arms. 4 FOOTBALL Coaching provided by Football Frenzy Mr Jon Mottershead and his team of coaches from Football Frenzy have been giving football classes to Chiswick House School pupils for a number of years. CHS and Football Frenzy have now joined forces to offer after school sessions to Chiswick House School and other pupils. Junior School Pupils (5-10yrs) Tuesdays 14:30-16:00 Starting 8th January Fee 65 Soccer Tots (3-5 yrs) Thursdays 13:00-14:10 (For CHS KG pupils) Starting 10th January Fee 65 All Sessions are held at Chiswick House School and are open to boys and girls. 5 TAEKWONDO Coaching provided by St Martin s Taekwondo Academy St Martin s Taekwondo Academy (SMTA) was founded in 2004, on the initiative of Mr Joe Azzopardi who has been involved and instructing Taekwondo during the past 15 years. Mr Azzopardi is 4th Dan Black Belt and a WTF recognised Master Instructor. SMTA was the irst sports school recognised by KMS and is also the largest Taekwondo Academy in Malta preparing students from white to black belt level with periodical gradings recognised by the World Taekwondo Federation. An ongoing programme by the Academy s L.T.A.P. (long term athlete development) guides students with competition potential to be integrated as National Athletes. SMTA participates annually in the British International Taekwondo Open Championships achieving prestigious results. 6 TENNIS Mr Rob Tarpey, National coach for the Malta Tennis teams, will once again be the coach in charge of the Tennis programme as part of the Chiswick House School and St Martin s College extracurricular programme. His expertise and enthusiasm have managed to bring out the best in all those who have attended our tennis programmes. Lessons are open for students aged 7 years and upwards, and all lessons are held at the St Martin s College tennis courts. Lessons are held on: Mondays at 15:05-16:05 for SMC students (Beginners) Mondays at 16:05-17:05 for CHS pupils (Beginners) Monday Sessions January: 14, 21, 28 February: 4, 11, 18, 25 March: 4, 11, 18 Mr Rob would like to introduce Mini Red, a tennis programme aimed at young children aged 8 and under. Lessons are held on Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 10:00 and from 10:00 to 11:00. Our main objective is to introduce gymnastics to children aged 3 years and over. Lessons are based on Fun, Fitness & Fundamentals!
