5 Our 1m state-of the-art sports facilities were officially opened by Rugby International Josh Lewsey in 2008 and many are now available for hire Sports Hall (16mx30m). The Hall includes a wide range of equipment including 5-a-side goals, basketball and netball courts, 4 badminton courts, cricket nets, 12 table tennis tables and a range of mats and gymnastics equipment. The Hall can be divided in two allowing hire of half the space. It is an ideal venue for children s parties and activity events where a large indoor space is required. Astroturf pitches The School has two Astroturf pitches for hire. One (30mx66m) is situated at the School and is suitable for a wide range of grass-based sports such as hockey, 5-aside football and tennis. The other (91mx55m) is situated at the New Field, a few minutes walk from the School. This full size pitch is suitable for hockey or football. For lettings enquiries for the full size pitch please contact jane Welch on or welchj@watfordboys.herts.sch.uk Fitness Suite For achieving optimum fitness, the Suite is equipped with the latest aerobic and weight bearing equipment including treadmills, steppers, cross trainers, free weights, rowing machines and exercise bikes. Playing fields Located at the New Field, the playing fields can be hired for a variety of sporting events football, hockey, rugby or sports days. Alternatively, the area can be used for outdoor shows, fetes and other events. Cricket Nets & pitch Located at the School, the outdoor cricket facilities are ideal for cricket schools, competitive & friendly matches as well as cricket practice.

7 Music The award-winning Clarendon Muse offers 2,000m of specialist music space for music events of all types. It hosted the BBC2 Maestro Programme in 2008 and other high profile musical events Concert Hall comprises a tiered 200 seat auditorium with high tech acoustics, 7m screen, projection, recording facilities, green room as well as specialist music equipment including a Steinway Grand piano. Hospitality Foyer with reception desk, plasma screen, kitchen, food preparation area and Box Office facilities. 24 practice rooms sound-proofed and of varying sizes, all rooms are equipped with a piano. ICT suite equipped with keyboards and computers running award-winning music software. Recording Studio linked to a large practice room as well as the Concert Hall, the Studio is equipped with a Tascam DM 4800 Console which is the ultimate digital console for professional users who demand a flexible mixing platform that configures to meet their needs. Lettings enquiries for all the music facilities should be made to the Watford School of Music at in the first instance. 8 Specialist facilities Drama The James Theatre has a tiered 266 seat auditorium and is a fully equipped theatre with front of house facilities. The Theatre has hosted dance and drama shows as well as concerts for local community groups and others. Dance The Dance Studio (8mx11m) is home to Aviv Dance Studios. It has a cushioned floor, balance bar and two fully mirrored walls suitable for dance and exercise classes.

9 Specialist facilities Cookery School The Cookery School can accommodate upto 20 people across 10 fully equipped workstations. It has adjoining classrooms and is suitable for masterclasses, workshops or demonstrations. Sixth Form Centre The Centre is a brand new flexible space which has hosted a wide range of events including lectures, exhibitions and conferences. It comes with two 40 plasma screens, ICT & data projection facilities.

10 Travel By road: Parking is available for 200 cars on site and there is unrestricted on-street parking during the working week. Disabled parking is available at the front of the School. By London Underground: Watford Underground Station (Metropolitan Line) is opposite the School grounds and a three minute walk from the School. By train: Watford Junction Station (London Overground, Silverlink and Virgin Trains) is about a minute walk away from the School. Taxis are available outside the station.

11 Information Facilities: All hire includes access to toilet facilities as appropriate. Parking is available for up to 200 cars. Use of equipment in all areas attracts an additional charge. Opening times: Mon Fri pm. Weekends 8am 10pm. Different opening times operate outside of term time. Please enquire at the time of booking. Licenses: It will be the hirer s responsibility to arrange for appropriate licenses relating to selling alcohol. Medical facilities: First Aid and welfare provision remain the responsibility of the hirer. Smoking policy: No smoking is permitted in any part of the School or grounds. Catering: Catering may be included in any hire at an additional cost. Security: We reserve the right to refuse any booking or admission on safety & security grounds. Insurance: Hirers must have proof of third party insurance whilst on the School premises.
