1 Vide Recrder DIVAR AN 3000 and DIVAR AN 5000 families 1 DIVAR AN 3000/5000 firmware versin (date ) File name: DVR.V2.2.1.R bin This release includes the fllwing bug fixes: - There was a very small chance that the DST ffset wuld nt prperly switch during the DST transitin in heavily burdened systems. This has been reslved. - Smetimes the web lgin windw was nt in the center f screen. This has been fixed. - Reslved the minr issue that after an exprt f a cnfiguratin file frm DVR3000 t DVR5000 the setting f the baud rate f Keybard was left empty. Knwn limitatins / system behavir: - 64 remte cnnectins are nw pssible, but bandwidth limited remte cnnectins are still limited t 4. The reasn fr this is the extra prcessr lad required t limit the bandwidth traffic. - If a custmer uses prt 5000 as TCP-prt (pssible with FW 2.1 and later) and he dwngrades t FW 2.0 r lwer, than remte lgin is n lnger pssible. - In firmware v2.1 and later it is pssible t exprt mre than ne vide channel. Hwever playback f the exprt frm a memry device n the lcal unit is nly pssible fr the first exprted vide channel. With the new Exprt player yu can play all exprted vide channels simultaneusly via a PC. - The new features Prtect verwrite and Restricted playback are intended t lck small prtins f a vide (max. 1 t 2 hurs). If a user lcks larger prtins f a vide this will affect the perfrmance f the system. We strngly advise t nly exprt large prtins f imprtant vide t a DVD r a memry device instead f lcking it n the DVR. - The Mnitr adjust feature des nt fully adjust the margins ver the whle screen n a mnitr. Hwever the cmplete camera picture is still viewable. - The Exprt player is nt able t play the secnd hur in DST. Playback is nly pssible via the exprt player when the secnd hur has been exprted. Playback is pssible n the lcal unit fr the first and secnd hur. - Imprt f a cnfiguratin is nly pssible when the cnfiguratin exprt is made n a unit with the same number f channels. - When exprting files t a DVD+RW, the system will first frmat the DVD and then write the exprted file t the disk. A warning is shwn befre the frmat prcess starts deleting all files n the disk. - PC administratr rights are required t initially lad Web Client sftware. After installatin, the Web Client is nt restricted fr ther users. - Lading f the timelines in the Search/Play screen may take mre time if a large number f recrding files are laded fr the selected day. 2 Recmmended BVC versin: - BVC v1.7.2 is recmmended fr this firmware release. Bsch strngly recmmends upgrading t the latest firmware fr the best pssible functinality, cmpatibility and perfrmance. Page 2 f 16

3 2 Update prcedure T update the DIVAR3000/5000 t the latest firmware, please refer t the Operatr manual, sectin 7.5.4, r fllw the instructins belw: 1. Lad firmware v2.2.1 via a PC nt an USB memry stick (file name: DVR.V2.2.1.R bin) 2. Lg n as ADMINISTRATOR in the lcal unit 3. Access the Main menu by right-clicking the muse fr the Quick menu, and select Main menu. 4. Select the Inf menu (see belw). Page 3 f 16

4 5. Select the Versin menu (see belw). 6. Update the current firmware as fllws: a. Insert a USB stick with a preladed update file int the USB cnnectr n the frnt f the DVR. b. Select the update file DVR.V2.2.1.R bin c. Click <Start>t begin the update. d. Wait until the update is cmplete and the system is restarted. Alternatively, use the Web Client fr a firmware upgrade. 3 Divar 3000/5000 firmware versin histry 3.1 Versin File name: DVR.V1.0.0.R bin Versin is the Initial firmware release DIVAR3000/5000 supprts the fllwing PC sftware, mbile APPs and Web brwsers: - BVC v1.4 SR4 - iphne APP DIVAR Viewer v1.0 supprts live viewing and is available n Apple Stre - Andrid APP DIVAR Viewer v1.0 supprts live viewing and is available n Play Stre - ipad APP DVR Client v3.01 supprts DVR400/600/700/3000/5000 In this versin n playback is supprted fr DIVAR 3000/ Web brwser supprt fr Safari, Chrme, Firefx (QuickTime required; n playback supprted) and Internet Explrer 9 (including playback) Imprtant behavir / knw issues: - N Daylight Saving Time (DST) supprt in first release f DIVAR3000/5000 n lcal unit and BVC. Our advice is t select 'Display lcal time f device' in BVC user settings when the PC time is nt synchrnized with the device time. - Pre-alarm recrdings are nt visible n the timeline. Page 4 f 16

5 - There is n alarm/mtin icn shwn during playback f alarm/mtin recrdings. - Exprting vide with ne r mre gaps will result in ne slid vide track. - N text search supprted n ATM/POS recrdings. - Intuikey keybard search, freeze and play functins are nt supprted. - The default fr the recrding schedule is set fr regular recrding fr all inputs. This means that all inputs are recrded, even when n camera is cnnected, and yu may use up extra recrding space. Yu can avid this by disabling the recrding schedule fr a camera that is nt available r nt cnnected. - The File Assciatin setting in Archive player is disabled in this release. - The Archive Player will nt be dwnladed frm the DVR when archiving is perfrmed via Web Client. Use the Archive Player available n the Bsch website (and n the prduct CD), r dwnlad it by perfrming a lcal archive. - The DVR recrds t different vide package files. During cntinuus recrding, yu can set the duratin fr every package ( Pack Duratin setting). This means yu can later chse in the Search/Playback screen t search fr a vide via the time line, r frm a list f all recrded files where vide packages fr Regular (R), Mtin (M) r Alarm (A) recrdings are indicated. Yu can simply click n the required file t view this recrding, r yu select ne r mre files fr archiving. 3.2 Versin File name: DVR.V1.1.0.LB.R bin (date ) This release includes the fllwing new features/imprvement: - Supprts a full bandwidth cntrl. This means that, when the bandwidth limitatin is active, all DVR netwrk cmmunicatin will be limited t the selected bandwidth setting. - Bandwidth limit can be set t ff (default), 256 kbps, 512 kbps and higher. Fr example, when the bandwidth limitatin is set t 256 kbps, than the netwrk traffic will nt exceed the 256 kbps. - In this versin the bandwidth limitatin can be set active via a BVC site.xml cnnectin. Therefre BVC will infrm DVR if it shuld stream with r withut bandwidth limit. - Secnd encding stream will be cnfigured autmatically t accmmdate the selected bandwidth limit. Fr example if bandwidth limit is set t 256 kbps than encding settings f all cameras will be set t 64 kbps fr the 2 nd stream t ptimize viewing f fur cameras. - BVC playback, under lw bandwidth cntrl, streams I-Frame nly t save bandwidth. - BVC exprt, under lw bandwidth cntrl, streams all I- and P-Frames. Even thugh this is a slw prcess, n frames will be drpped. - BVC sftware versin 1.4 SR5 (v ) is supprting this firmware v1.1.0 Imprtant behavir: - Remte playback under bandwidth cntrl: Recrdings with 30IPS 4CIF reslutin culd leads t a situatin where playback is quite difficult t stream in single speed I-Frames with bandwidth limit set t 256 kbps. 6 This because sme I-Frames, especially with a lt f mtin, are already bigger than the 256 kbps. In this release this is slved t start BVC playback with half-speed when the recrder is under bandwidth cntrl. This is the default playback speed and can be changed by the user by pressing FWD s that playback ges t single speed. - Remte live viewing under bandwidth cntrl: Lwest bandwidth limit can be set t 256 kbps. Fr live display the 2 nd stream is autmatically set t 64 kbps per camera. Fr single view the live picture quality can be imprved t select 256 kbps per camera. 3.3 Versin File name: DVR.V1.2.0.R bin This release includes the fllwing new features: Bandwidth limit: - T use this feature, firmware v1.2.0 must be installed in the DVR, and BVC sftware versin 1.4 SR6 (v ) must be used. - The bandwidth limit nly applies t netwrk cnnectins utside the sub-net f the DVR (WAN). Bandwidth limit des NOT apply t netwrk cnnectin n the same sub-net as the DVR (LAN). - The DVR will check autmatically if a BVC r Web Client netwrk cnnectin request is sent frm a PC lcated in the same sub-net as the DVR (n bandwidth limitatin), r frm utside its sub-net (bandwidth limitatin). - In the fllwing Netwrk screen, the bandwidth limits can be set t N (default), 256 Kbps, 512 Kbps, 1M, 2M, 5M r 10Mbps. 7 - This new feature supprts full bandwidth cntrl. This means that, when the bandwidth limitatin is active, all DVR netwrk cmmunicatin utside the sub-net will be limited t the selected bandwidth setting. Fr example, when the bandwidth limitatin is set t 256 Kbps, then netwrk traffic t cnnectins utside the DVR sub-net will nt exceed the 256 Kbps. - When the bandwidth limit is set t a value, the encding settings fr the 2 nd stream will be ptimized t stream live vide fr the selected bandwidth value. Fr example if bandwidth limit is set t 256 Kbps then encding settings fr all cameras will be set t 64 Kbps fr the 2 nd stream t ptimize viewing f fur cameras. Fr 512 Kbps this will be 128 Kbps fr all cameras. - Check the Aut encde setting fr 2 nd stream bx t enable autmatic selectin (the 2 nd stream settings can always be manually changed). Live display in BVC - Under lw bandwidth cntrl, the BVC r Web Client will request the 2 nd stream by default. - Even when the peratr n the BVC r Web client manually selects the main stream, the bandwidth cnsumptin will never be higher than the selected value. This may delay streaming f the higher bit-rate f the main stream. Playback in BVC - During BVC playback under lw bandwidth cntrl, nly I-Frames are streamed t save bandwidth. In full screen, an I-Frame will be streamed every secnd. - In 2x2 playback, the system streams ne I-Frame every 4 secnds. - When the recrder is under bandwidth cntrl, BVC playback starts at half-speed by default. Recrdings with a high update rate and reslutin culd cause difficult playback streaming fr single speed I-Frames when the bandwidth limit is set lw (e.g. 256 Kbps). Sme I- Frames, especially thse with a lt f mtin, are already bigger than the 256 Kbps. The default playback speed can be changed by the user pressing FWD s that playback ges t single speed. Step-by-step playback in BVC - When playback is paused, the P-Frames will als be laded s that it is pssible t step frward and backward thrugh all recrded frames. - Because f the lw bandwidth setting, it may take a number f secnds t lad all additinal P-Frames. If immediate stepping is started after pausing, nly I-Frames will be initially started. After a few secnds, the P-Frames will be laded. Exprt in BVC - BVC exprt, under lw bandwidth cntrl, streams all I- and P-Frames. This is a slw prcess but n frames will be lst. Page 7 f 16

8 Intuikey keybard cnnectin One Intuikey keybard can cmmunicate with a maximum 16 DIVAR 5000 units (nt supprted n the DIVAR 3000): - Keybard address must be set fr every DIVAR First camera ffset must be set fr every DIVAR Camera 1 f the DIVAR 5000 will be called n the keybard by selecting the prgrammed First camera ffset number. Fr example, set the ffset t 101 in the DVR s when yu select 101, camera 1 is displayed in full screen n mnitr A f that selected DVR. Press 112 t display camera 12 in full screen. Page 8 f 16

This t prevent deleting f vide by n incrrect large time change backwards. - Certain passwrds were nt recgnized within IE Web client. This is slved in v WAN cnnectin issues with BVC 1.4 SR5 in cmbinatin with firmware have be slved in firmware v1.2.0 and BVC 1.4 SR6. - DVR Client ipad APP was nt able t cnnect with DVRs running n firmware v This is slved in firmware v Rebting f DVR culd cause smetimes in switching frm NTSC t PAL. This is fixed s that if DVR is set t NTSC it always stays in NTSC after rebt. - Issue that timeline f BVC 1.4 SR5 was 1 hur ahead cmpared t time stamp in recrded vide by using GMT -5 is slved in BVC 1.4 SR6 and firmware v Versin File name: DVR.V1.3.0.R bin If used in cmbinatin with BVC, this firmware (v1.3.0) requires BVC v1.4 sr7 (v ) r higher. This will be crrected in the next release. 3.5 Versin File name: DVR.V1.4.0.R bin If used in cmbinatin with BVC, this firmware (v1.4.0) requires BVC v1.4 sr7 (v ) r higher. This release includes the fllwing new features: - Quick start playback icn added in Search/Play screen. When this icn is pressed, a dialg bx will appear asking yu t select date/time and camera(s) t be played. Press start, and the selected camera(s) will be played in a crrespnding multi-screen. - Autmatic jump back t the previus (multi-)screen after an alarm camera was displayed n Mn. A - Display multiple alarm cameras if they are simultaneusly in alarm. Fr example, ne camera in alarm is displayed in a full screen; 2 active alarms will be displayed in a Quad screen. If mre than 4 cameras are in alarm, they will be displayed in a 3x3 r 4x4 multiscreen. - It is pssible t dwnlad the exprt player via the DIVAR web client using the new buttn Player Dwnlad. - HDD disk errr message in left tp f screen when ne f the drives is in errr. Bug fixes: - Remte playback via the Web Client in firmware 1.4 was nly pssible when lgged n via the master ADMINISTRATOR accunt. Remte playback is nw pssible fr ther lg-n accunts. - A text errr in the French lcal user interface meant that settings fr mtin recrding culd nt be entered in the Encde menu. 14 - Opening a very large file in the Exprt player may take a number f secnds - If used in cmbinatin with BVC, this firmware (v2.1.0) requires BVC v1.4 sr7 (v ) r higher Recmmended BVC versin: - BVC v1.7 (expected end Nvember, 2014) is recmmended fr this firmware release. 3.8 Versin File name: DVR.V2.2.0.T bin This release includes the fllwing new features: - Imprved lw bandwidth feature It is nw pssible t define a list f IP ranges which always have their bandwidth limited and a list f IP ranges which will never have their bandwidth limited. These lists verrule the autmatic detectin f LAN and WAN subnets. Page 14 f 16

15 Default setting is same as the autmatic detectin f LAN and WAN subnets in previus releases. - Supprt up t 64 remte cnnectins In previus firmware releases the max. number f remte client cnnectins was limited t 4. Nw this limitatin is extended t 64, hwever mre than 4 remte clients can lead t perfrmance limitatins. Therefre Bsch strngly advice nt using mre than 4 cnnectins simultaneusly. If the maximum available bandwidth fr streaming is used (60Mbit/s) users can still lgin, but will nt receive a vide stream until bandwidth is available again. - Custmer lg supprt A custmer can nw shw his wn lg n the lgin screen and playback disclaimer f the LUI and WEB. The lg will be stred with the cnfiguratin file and can be exprted/imprted like ther cnfiguratin settings. The lg file can have a maximum size f 500kb and the reslutin has t be smaller than 260x150 with a frmat f 8/16-bits bmp. - Restrict / Prtect / Delete vide user right management User right management has nw als be implemented fr the restrict and prtect features as well as fr deleting vide. Each individual feature can have its user rights cnfigured separately. - ASF exprts als nw supprt audi playback with windws media player. - DIVAR Viewer App playback disclaimer supprt The DIVAR Viewer mbile apps v3.1 nw als supprts the ptin t display playback disclaimers. - CGI interface publicly available External CGI cmmand interface is available fr IPP prgram members. - Translatins Implemented translatins fr all languages f FW v2.1 features. New FW v2.2 features are nly available in English until FW v2.3 release. - Mass remte firmware upgrade The latest BVC / CnfigManager releases supprt upgrading the firmware f multiple DVR s at the same time. We recmmend using BVC v release with the included CnfigManager fr this. Bug fixes: - Latency issues fr PTZ cameras while using the Bsch Intui keybard have been reslved. - Hang in exprt menu due t the autmatic file size calculatin has been fixed. The size calculatin is nw dne when pressing the add buttn instead. - Default exprt player language is nw the same as the current DVR language. - Several perfrmance and stability imprvements in exprting t a DVD have been made. - An errr in the encryptin algrithm has been reslved, which prevented the use f certain passwrds because the encrypted passwrd wuld lead t ASCII characters which were nt allwed in HTTP cmmunicatin. - LUI exprts can nw be 4GB FAT32 size again instead f 2GB in FW Italian translatins n the LUI are crrect again. They were missing due t a bug in FW Multi-screen n mnitr B is nw crrectly stred and will be restred after a rebt instead f defaulting back t 4x4 after a rebt. Page 15 f 16
