The College of Southern Maryland respectfully submits the following responses regarding the project cited above: 1. Will this room be treated as a data center required to meet all NFPA, and International Building Code requirements? Response: Yes. 2. Will all walls surrounding the room be required to be full height 1hr fire? Response: The new wall separating 008 from the adjacent lab should be full height and meet NFPA code. 3. Are there any special requirements for the ceiling material (low particulate tiles, etc.) Response: The ACT system should be removed as per RFP section Because there is a classroom next door to the data center should the devising wall be sound attenuated? Response: Per ANSI S , the dividing wall should be constructed such that the one hour-average A-weighted steady background noise level within the classroom is < 35 db. 5. We anticipate that the carpeted raised floor tiles will require complete resurfacing with the appropriate matching surfaces. Response: This does not appear to be a question. 6. Is there any consideration to utilizing down flow CRAC units with a floor supply plenum and a ceiling return plenum? Response: Please price as described in the RFP. Alternatives are welcome but should be priced separately. This dependent on the height of the raised floor plenum. 7. Will all the racks (first 10) need new L6-30 redundant power strips (rack PDU s)? Response: New PDUs will be required; the selection of PDU will be part of the work effort.

8. It is understood that the design will require (2) overhead Starline busways with ten (10) bus plugs in each. This will provide redundant feeds to each of the first ten (10) racks. Response: To carry the full load of the 30kVA UPS the busways require a 100A rating. Is this the expected rating or do you want a larger rating for possible future load increase? This will be part of the design effort of the project. Total of twenty (20) L6-30 bus plugs Is there any need for bus plug metering or will all load metering be done from the rack PDU s? No bus metering is required; some metering will be required by the PDUs. Are there any other special plug requirements for server chassis, SAN equipment, etc.? This will be part of the design effort of the project. 9. How far is the location of the power source for the new 30kVA UPS? What is the expect power factor (kw rating) of the new UPS (unity, 90% or 80%) This will be part of the design effort of the project. Will the existing UPS be fed from the existing source when relocated? This will be part of the design effort of the project. What is the power factor of the existing UPS (kw rating) at unity 30kW, at 90% 27kW, at 80% 24kW The UPS is Eaton model kb How far will the existing UPS feeder need to be extended? This will be part of the design effort of the project. 10. What size is the nearby generator? Response: The generator is a Generac model kW 188kVA nameplate rating Is there spare capacity for full build out of IT equipment and cooling? This is likely but must be confirmed as per the RFP. If the above information is not known should we provide a separate price for the new generator option? You should bid the project as specified including the evaluation of the

existing generator to support the new space. The cost of a new generator should not be in the base bid price but may be included as an Add Alternate. How much spare capacity should be allocated to the new generator? This will be part of the design effort of the project. 11. What is the total expected IT electrical load in kw? Response: See RFP section Growth of 100 should read Growth of 100%. 12. What is the expected load per rack at full build out? Response: See question 11. At full build out of 20 racks the redundant UPS supply will provide between 1.2kW and 1.5kW per rack. Is this is what is expected. The initial build-out is for 10 cabinets and should provide electrical capacity as per the RFP section 2.4. The L6-30 power supply can provide up to 4.9kW per rack. This does not appear to be a question. 13. It is understood that a dry pre-action system is required for the IT space. Response: Is the UPS room also expected to be part of the pre-action system? Yes. Is there any consideration for clean agent? If cost-effective, this will be considered. 14. Does the existing data center have special fire protection Pre-action of clean agent? Response: No. Can this system be expanded to include the new room or does a new Pre-Action system need to be sized to support the existing space. N/A 15. Confirm the future kw capacity of each cabinet will not exceed 5kW. Response: For the initial 10 cabinets, the average design load shall not exceed 5kW as per RFP section 2.4.

16. Confirm the dimensions of the server cabinets: 42u/79 H x 24 W x 48 D? 17. Is raised floor in the data center room a requirement? Response: No 18. Is this project state funded? Response: The project is partially state funded. If yes, will there be any state review requirements that need to be considered into the schedule? Anticipated review process College s Board of Trustees, Charles County commissioners, and the State DBM This project does not require the State s Board of Public Works approval. Please bid per the RFP schedule. 19. Section of the RFP Document and Drawing LP-T3.10DC refer to the new hot aisle containment. Is there a preferred hot aisle containment manufacturer? Response: No. 20. Section of the RFP refers to the planned expansion of 100. Please clarify units. Does this refer to a planned expansion of 100%? Response: Yes, 100%. 21. Is there existing building ventilation that can be utilized? Should new ventilation be provided? 22. What is the size of the existing generator? Response: Generac model kW 188kVA nameplate rating 23. What is the connected load/maximum demand on the existing generator or on the utility? Response: Unknown

24. Is there a desired reserve capacity on the existing or new generator? 25. What is the required run-time for the current or future generator? 26. Where can the new generator be installed? Response: Should a new generator be required, this will be part of the design effort of the project. 27. Should a clean agent system be shown as an alternate price? Response: A clean agent system is not a requirement, but may be bid as an Add Alternate. 28. What is the structural rating of the raised floor? Response: Unknown. Are there any concerns regarding existing or future cabinet weights? 29. Are there any College Design and Construction guidelines or standards in published form? Response: CSM Design criteria will be added as an addendum 30. The RFP states that if required, we will provide a new generator back-feed from Building CC to accommodate the additional power requirements. What is the distance from main electric room in Building CC to the electric room in Building BI? 31. Should the costs to replace the existing generator/add new generator be provided as an Add Alternate Price? Response: See question 10.

32. Please provide a location acceptable for the outdoor units. Response: We anticipate the outdoor units will be placed near the existing unit serving BI006 in the depressed courtyard outside BI 012 on the southwest corner. 33. Please define expandable HVAC system. BOD seems to be split systems option, could be XDP Liebert system designed off of final load in lieu of individual in-row systems. Response: The system should be scalable such that it meets the needs of the initial 10 cabinets and can be expanded later to support the future 10 cabinets. 34. Is glycol system acceptable with internal compressors in the rows? 35. Is there any manufacturer that is not acceptable for in-row systems? Response: CSM does not have a preference for manufacturers. 36. Who is the building controls vendor? Response: This building currently has no central management system. 37. Is it possible to get another site visit the various trades contractors beyond the telecomm division (HVAC, Fire Protection, Architectural, etc.)?
