The Internet Datacenter has two (2) 4000 AMP, 480 volt commercial power services feed for each building, fed from two separate power grids. Each generator has 2500-gallon fuel oil storage tank built into the base (7500 gallons reserve). Building B has two 1750 kw diesel generators, each with a 5000 gallon belly-tank, providing standby power to Bldg. B, plus, the use of Generator #3 from Bldg. A as a swing generator that can be used by either building as needed. In addition to the belly fuel storage tanks on each generator, all five generators are fed from two 16,000-gallon on-site, aboveground, fuel storage tanks with UPS power to the fuel pump. Geographically diverse fuel vendors are under contract to deliver fuel should refueling be necessary. There are two (2)-UPS systems; one consists of two redundant systems operating in parallel with three (3) - 400kW/500kVA modules each. Power is supplied to the UPS systems through commercial power feeders and standby generators. The UPS system is designed to support its full load for 15 minutes via its internal battery plant. This facility has enhanced data center grounding system. A perimeter ground ring is tied into driven ground rods. The UPS systems, equipment cabinets, racks and associated metal parts are tied into the ground ring. In case of a commercial power failure, the standby generators provide power to the Data Center within one minute of a commercial power outage. The one-minute gap is covered by the UPS system. During an extended commercial power outage, the diesel generators can provide power for a minimum of 72 hours using the fuel stored at the site. The quantity of generators represents N+1 redundancy in the generator plant. There are connection points, processes and procedures to hook up additional portable generators from AT&T s fleet of portable equipment to further ensure generator capacity and redundancy. There are eight (8) chillers, each with two 61 ton compressors (122 tons total/chiller), and eight air handling units (each backed up by two chillers) located around the perimeter, delivering conditioned air to equipment cabinets/ racks through supply air ducts and diffusers. 122-ton chillers supply chilled water to the air handling units. Conditioned air from the air handling units is discharged from overhead ducts. Designed to N+1 specifications required Industry Tier 4 Standards as outlined in the Uptime Institute Report. If a chiller fails, a standby chiller will carry the load until the chiller is fixed. The standby chiller is designed to operate continuously. The Center has pre-action dry pipe fire suppression system. In the data center equipment area. Nonequipment areas have wet sprinkler system. The Center has a state-of-the-art VESDA (air sampling) smoke detection and alarm system. It is 100 times more sensitive than conventional fire detection systems. Detectors are grouped into zones. When one or more detectors in different zones detect smoke, the fire alarm panel opens the deluge valve to fill the sprinkler piping with water. In the event of an actual fire, the seal on the sprinkler heads will melt and discharge water on the affected area. Water will not be discharged in unaffected areas. 2

3 Architectural Section - continued Security Building Access: Security staffing 24x7, closed circuit monitors, secure key-card access, biometrics scanner, a mantrap, and alarmed doors. Guards maintain access from the loading dock and access requires a card key. Security personnel also monitor the building and use an electronic watch monitoring system that identifies when and where guards have patrolled. AT&T maintains a current list of authorized personnel. AT&T maintains all keys for cabinets and cages in a lock box on site. Customers are not allowed in managed spaces. Site Monitoring: 24x7 monitoring is performed on site and remotely. Building Description: The Web Hosting Facility is located in a three story building which originally functioned as a research and corporate data center, which has been totally re-purposed for data center use, (no corporate data functions remain). The building was constructed in The building has structural steel moment resisting space frame construction with cast-in-place concrete floor slabs.
