2 The Marda Gras Street Festival is an annual, fun-filled, family-friendly event that attracts over 35,000 visitors from all over Calgary. This year marks the 32 nd year of this free, public event. On Sunday, August 14 th from 10 AM to 5 PM the streets of Marda Loop will come alive with this New Orleans themed Festival! The sights and sounds of New Orleans; purple, green and gold pageantry; a variety of high quality cultural performers, dance groups and musicians; outdoor activities; and a wide variety of delicious cuisine draws kids of all ages to this popular street festival every year. The Marda Gras Street Festival is organized by the Marda Loop Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ). We are a non-profit organization that works in partnership with the more than 130 businesses in our community, many of which are independent and exclusive to our area. We promote and support local businesses; beautify and enhance the pedestrian realm; maintain a clean, safe and functional environment; as well as encourage local shopping within the area through a series of special events that we host throughout the year the largest of which is the Marda Gras Street Festival. Each year, a portion of the proceeds from the festival go towards local community improvements. The Marda Gras Street Festival is free for participants and we rely on Sponsors to help make the festival a success. There are a variety of sponsorship levels available and we are happy to work with you and your business to create a sponsorship package that meets your specific needs.
