2 Intrductin The fllwing article explains hw t dwnlad mail frm Island Barn s hsting accunt using Micrsft Outlk. The prcess is explained fr the 3 ppular versins f Outlk: 1. Outlk Outlk 3. Outlk Express Befre embarking n this prcess yu will need t cntact the Website Editr ([email protected]) fr the fllwing infrmatin. Island Barn Address Mail Server Username Mail Server Passwrd Incming Mail Server Outging Mail Server NB fr advanced users The fllwing prtcls are supprted by the mail server: Supprted Incming Mail Prtcls: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS) Supprted Outging Mail Prtcls: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS) Incming Mail Server: (SSL) Outging Mail Server: (SSL)

3 Outlk In Outlk 2007, frm the Tls menu, select Accunt Settings. 2. On the tab, click New.

4 3. Select Micrsft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, r HTTP and click Next. 4. Check Manually cnfigure server settings r additinal server types and click Next. 5. Select Internet and click Next. 6. Enter the requested infrmatin: Yur Name: yur name Address: the address the messages will be sent frm Accunt Type: POP3 Incming Mail server: mail.dmainname.xyz Outging Mail server: mail.dmainname.xyz User Name: the full address Passwrd: the passwrd fr the address

5 7. Click Mre Settings. 8. On the Outging Server tab, check My utging server (SMTP) requires authenticatin. 9. Select Use same settings as my incming mail server.

6 10. On the Advanced tab, set the Incming server (pp3) t: 110 and the Outging server (SMTP): t Click OK 12. Click Test Accunt Settings t verify everything is cnfigured crrectly. 13. Click Next and then click Finish.

7 Outlk 1. In Outlk, frm the Tls menu, select Accunts. 2. Select Add a new accunt and then click Next.

8 3. Select POP3 and then click Next. 4. Enter yur infrmatin: Yur Name: yur name Address: the address the messages will be sent frm Incming Mail server (POP3): mail.dmainname.xyz Outging Mail server (SMTP): mail.dmainname.xyz User Name: the address used t lg int the webmail interface Passwrd: the passwrd fr the address 5. Click n Mre Settings and select the Outging Server Tab. 6. Check My utging server (SMTP) requires authenticatin.

9 7. Select Use same settings as my incming mail server. 8. On the Advanced tab, set the Incming server (pp3) t: 110 and the Outging server (SMTP): t 26

10 9. Click Ok. Click Next. Click Finish.

11 Outlk Express 1. In Outlk Express, frm the Tls menu, select Accunts A bx will appear. Click Add and select Mail. 3. Enter yur name as yu want it t appear n yur s and click Next.

12 4. Put in yur address, which cnsists f a user yu set up in webmail and then click Next. 5. Set the server type as POP3. 6. Fr incming and utging mail servers, enter mail.yurdmain.xyz (where yurdmain.xyz is yur dmain name and extensin such as.cm). 7. Click n Next. 8. Enter yur address fr the Accunt Name. Enter the passwrd yu set fr this accunt.

13 Nte: D NOT check the bx "Lg n using Secure Passwrd Authenticatin". 9. Click Next and then click Finish. After yu click Finish, yu shuld see the fllwing windw. If nt, g t the Tls menu, and click n Accunts. After clicking Accunts the windw will appear. In this windw, click n yur dmain until it is highlighted, then click n Prperties. 10. When the next screen appears, click n the Servers tab. Under Outging Mail Server, check the bx next t My server requires authenticatin. Nte: Yu MUST d this

14 step s yu can send mail frm yur dmain. 11. On the Advanced tab, set the Incming server (pp3) t: 110 and the Outging server (SMTP): t Click Ok 13. Nw, yu're ready t send and receive mail. T set up multiple accunts, fllw these steps again.
