1 Job title: Data Manager, NCS Employing Organisation/Department: NYA Education / NCS Line Manager: Operations Manager, NCS Accountable For: Data Analyst, NCS Contracted Hours: 0.5 FTE (17.5 hours per week) Salary: Job Summary: circa 30,000 (pro rata) National Citizen Service is a national personal and social development programme for young people aged vinspired Education and NYAE have been awarded a multi-million pound contract to deliver NCS across the North East of England from Autumn 2015 Summer The post holder will ensure that NCS delivery in the North East uses data driven approaches to inform all aspects of planning, delivery, and innovation, and be accountable for providing up to date and timely data for funders and Directors. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will lead on the management and development of the NCS data strategy. This will include implementing and reviewing our use of the NCS CRM system alongside our subcontractors, to ensure a cross organisation approach to data processing, data analysing, and reporting. You will also be responsible for ensuring our office and those of our subcontractors are fully ISO compliant. Dimensions: vinspired Education and NYA Education are jointly delivering this contract as an equal partnership. The post holder will be employed by NYA Education and work within a matrix management system, being accountable to the Contract Director and line managed by the Operations Manager (both employed by vinspired). Specific Duties: Develop and deliver an effective data strategy to prioritise and build data collection into existing and future activities Manage the integration of the NCS database (Salesforce) with central NCS functions, to include: o o Designing and processing regular MI and compliance reports for funders, subcontractors and Directors, ensuring consistently timely delivery Dealing with queries and issues brought up by subcontractors, liaising with Salesforce administrators to seek a quick resolution
2 o o Maintaining the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the data throughout our supply chain Meeting ad-hoc data requests efficiently Lead the strategy for developing and implementing data across our NCS delivery, making sure past issues are taken into account to increase effectiveness Gain and maintain our ISO accreditation, ensuring physical and digital records are secure while giving the team easy access to necessary data Maintain our secure server and be responsible for the protection of data on fixed and mobile IT hardware Manage our relationship with the NCS Trust CRM/Data team Line manage and direct the work of the Data Analyst to achieve agreed team and individual targets and objectives Undertake performance reviews and develop your direct report Use data analysis and predictive modelling to inform and add value to management decisions, progress against key KPIs and marketing activities Provide data selections and build data forms to support our supply chain Train and support staff across our supply chain to successfully utilise the CRM in their dayto-day work, maintaining quality of data Work with the Compliance Manager and Conversion Team Leader to ensure payments made by parents are secure and we comply with data protection legislation Manage budgets and resources as required Act as the Data Protection Officer for the North East offices and offer guidance to other staff in this area Contribute as required to the wider work of the team Act in a manner that is in keeping with the charity s values Undertake any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post. Youth led approach One of the factors which makes vinspired and NYA s approach different is our belief in the value of youth insights and input to guide our work. The post holder will be expected to understand youth involvement and be an advocate for youth involvement in NCS. Confidentiality The post holder will have access to confidential information and is expected to ensure that the highest level of confidentiality is maintained at all times. Office base Based in the our offices at Cobalt Business Park, Tyneside (Office location is subject to change at any time).
3 A flexible approach to work including willingness to take on tasks outside the normal remit, to work irregular hours and undertake significant travel. Overnight stays will be required. Weekend and evening work may be required.
