2 First Annual Kids at Heart Dinner Event Information When: Saturday, April 6, :00 p.m. Cocktail Party and Silent Auction Dinner, Program and Entertainment to follow Where: Children s Museum of Phoenix 215 North 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ Why: Proceeds from the Kids at Heart Dinner directly support the Children s Museum of Phoenix. The Museum provides a safe, creative, engaging space for children to gain mastery over their bodies, develop their minds through sensory play and acquire skills that help them grow into healthy, productive and happy adults. In addition to housing award-winning exhibits, more than 300 educational programs and activities are provided each year to 6,000 participants. The proceeds will help buy items such as musical instruments, games, costumes, paint and other arts and craft supplies, as well as cover the administrative costs and instructor fees. With your support, the Children s Museum of Phoenix continues to engage the minds, muscles and imaginations of children and the grown-ups who care about them. 3 About the Children s Museum of Phoenix Mission To engage the minds, muscles and imaginations of children and the grown-ups who care about them while promoting cooperative interaction, fostering cultural understanding and enhancing parenting skills. Vision The Children s Museum of Phoenix is a place where children play to learn, and grown-ups learn to play. 4 Museum Programs Art Studio & Artists-in-Residence Art in the Museum inspires young visitors to think in new ways. Parent-to-Parent Families in domestic violence and transitional shelter programs build peer-to-peer networks which support their healthy development. Every Child Families facing financial, emotional or other challenges enjoy free or reduced admission to the Museum. Partners include Title 1 Schools, Section 8 housing developments and nonprofit agencies. Brain Time for Babies and Toddlers Using stories, songs, rhymes and one-on-one parent/child playtime, parents learn how early experiences impact the wiring of a child s brain. Award-Winning ASU Partnership Graduate students from the College of Nursing and Health Care Innovation teach children a broad array of age appropriate health topics Snapshot 300,000 visitors 402 groups and school field trips Nearly 55,000 visitors admitted free of charge or at a reduced rate through the Every Child program Partnered with 7 community agencies to provide Parent-to-Parent support Art Studio offered 138 activities to children and families
