1 LiveAtlas User Guide Octber 2014 Intrductin The LiveAtlas ffers a cmprehensive picture f early childhd develpment, as well as infrmatin abut sci-ecnmic status and resurces, fr cmmunities and subcmmunities in Alberta. Ten interactive maps have been develped and gruped int three categries Bundary maps shw varius administrative bundaries fr Alberta, including schl authrity, health zne, municipal, prvincial riding, Family and Cmmunity Supprt Services (FCSS) and Reginal Child and Family Services (CFS) bundaries. These will help yu t rient yurself and interpret data. The data itself is analyzed at the cmmunity and subcmmunity level. Bundaries fr cmmunities and subcmmunities were established by early childhd develpment (ECD) calitins t vercme the lack f existing cmmn bundaries acrss the prvince. Data maps prvide infrmatin abut ne type f data, including Early Develpment Instrument (EDI) results, the sci-ecnmic index (SEI) and cmmunity resurces. Multi-data maps display tw types f data: EDI results and SEI data, EDI results and cmmunity infrmatin and cmmunity infrmatin and SEI data. This makes it easier t explre pssible cnnectins and relatinships between different data sets, such as EDI results and SEI factrs, fr example. These instructins can als be accessed by clicking n Hw t use frm the main landing page ( r the Hw t buttn within each f the interactive maps. This map shws hw cmmunities and subcmmunities rank in their SEI scres, by gruping scres int six intervals. SEI scres are prvided fr each cmmunity and subcmmunity, alng with bar graphs that shw hw the five factrs that make up the SEI cntribute t the SEI scre. The five factrs are: ecnmic stability (E), scial mbility (S), cultural similarity (C), vulnerability (V) and child care (CC). High scres indicate a high sci-ecnmic status (SES), except fr vulnerability where the reverse is true.
