4 Definitin Billing Transactin Cdes When linking diagnsis cdes t transactin cdes, ICD-10 cdes can be selected frm the Psting Tab in Transactin Cde Definitin. Nte: The Supprt ICD-10 Billing Parameter must be enabled befre ICD-10 cdes can be selected in Transactin Cde Definitin. See the Parameters Sectin f this manual fr mre infrmatin. T view the ICD-9 cde that was riginally linked t the selected Transactin Cde, click the Switch t ICD-9 Link. Diagnsis Cdes ICD-10 ICD-10 cdes can be added, changed, and deleted frm the ICD-10 Diagnsis Cde Table. Nte: The ICD-10 Diagnsis Cde Table is pre-ppulated frm CMS when the Practice is updated t the latest versin f the Origin Practice Suite. Page 3

5 Highlight an ICD-10 cde in the table and then click the ICD-9 Buttn t view the ICD-9 cde that is linked t the selected ICD-10 cde. Nte: Frm the ICD-9 Diagnsis Cde Table, click the ICD-10 Buttn t return t the ICD-10 Diagnsis Cde Table. Click the Insert r Change Buttn t access the ICD-10 Diagnsis Definitin Windw. Page 4

6 PQRS Measures (frmerly PQRI Measures) ICD-10 cdes can be selected in the PQRS ICD Detail Definitin Windw. Nte: After enabling ICD-10 billing, all PQRS measures with assciate diagnsis cdes must be redefined with ICD-10 cdes. Click the Switch t ICD-9 Link t view the ICD-9 cdes that were previusly linked t the PQRS Measure. Parameters System Wide Defaults System Click the Supprt ICD-10 Billing Checkbx t enable the apprpriate ICD-10 fields in Transactin Cde Definitin and the Psting Area. Click the Supprt ICD-10 Clinical Checkbx t enable the apprpriate ICD-10 fields in the Charting Area. If a date is entered in the ICD-10 Live Date field, charges created prir t this date will nt require ICD-10 cdes. Page 5

7 Nte: If this field is nt ppulated with a date, ALL charges in the Suite will require an ICD-10 cde in rder t be saved, regardless f when the riginal charge was psted. This will include resubmitting charges. Patient Definitin Insurance Sectin Patient Case Windw 8 diagnsis cde fields are available when creating and editing an insurance case. The entered diagnsis cdes default accrdingly in the Psting Area and the Suspense Area. Click the Switch t ICD-9 Link in the Patient Case Windw t view the ICD-9 cdes that were previusly listed. Nte: When viewing ICD-9 cdes, click the Switch t ICD-10 Link t return t the Patient Case Windw with the ICD-10 cdes listed. Status Sectin The Status Sectin displays eight (8) available diagnsis cdes fields. Page 6

8 Click the Switch t ICD-9 Link t view the ICD-9 cdes that were listed in the diagnsis cde fields prir t enabling ICD-10 billing. Inquiry Sectin Transactin Explsin The Transactin Explsin Windw displays the eight (8) diagnsis cde fields available fr ICD-10 billing. Click the ICD9/ICD10 Link t lk up ICD-10 cdes that are linked t an ICD-9 cde and vice versa. Fr charges psted using ICD-9 standard billing, click the Switch t ICD-9 Link in the Transactin Explsin Windw t view the ICD-9 cdes that were riginally psted with the transactin. Page 7

9 Activities/Frms The fllwing reprts and frms reflect ICD-10 diagnsis cdes: Patient Receipt Submissin Histry Listing Referral Tracking Radilgy Flash Reprts Patient Chart Prblem List Sectin ICD-9 and ICD-10 infrmatin frm charted prblems is saved t the Prblem List Sectin f the Patient Chart. T view the ICD-10 infrmatin, pen a prblem and click the blue View ICD-10 Cdes Link. Nte: This feature requires that the ICD-10 Clinical Supprt Parameter be enabled. Prblems charted prir t the parameter activatin will nt display ICD-10 infrmatin. Psting Charge Psting The Charge Psting Windw displays the eight (8) ICD-10 required diagnsis cde fields. Transactins with up t eight (8) diagnses can be psted. Nte: The Supprt ICD-10 Billing Parameter must be enabled fr the additinal diagnsis cde fields t display. Page 8

10 Nte: The Diagnsis 1 - Diagnsis 4 Fields must be filled befre the user may tab frm Diagnsis 5 Field thrugh Diagnsis 8 Fields. Switching Frm ICD-10 t ICD-9 Billing in Charge Psting The ICD9 Link t the right f the diagnsis cde fields can be clicked t pst charges using ICD-9 standards. T switch frm ICD-10 t ICD-9 billing: 1. Click the ICD9 Link t the right f the diagnsis cde fields. Nte: Only ne methd f billing can be used at a time. If the ICD9 Link is selected, the ICD10 Link is grayed ut and visa versa. 2. Once clicked the fllwing message windw is displayed. Click the Yes Buttn t display the Transactin ICD Selectin (ICD-9 Preferred) Windw. Nte: If the N Buttn is selected, the user will be returned t the Charge Psting Windw with ICD-10 billing still enabled. Page 9

11 3. Select the apprpriate ICD-9 cdes in the ICD-9 Selectin Clumn t the left. The linked ICD-10 cdes display in the ICD-10 Selectin Clumn t the right. 4. Click the OK Buttn t view the selected ICD-9 cdes in the Charge Psting Windw. Page 10

Switching frm ICD-9 t ICD-10 Billing in Charge Psting Fr transactins entered int a batch using ICD-9 billing, the ICD10 Link can be used t switch t ICD-10 billing. T switch t ICD-10 billing: 1. Frm the Charge Psting Windw, click the ICD10 Link t the right f the diagnsis cde fields. The fllwing message windw displays: 2. Click the Yes Buttn t display the Transactin ICD Selectin (ICD 10 Preferred) Windw. Page 11

13 3. The previusly entered ICD-9 cdes are listed in the ICD-9 Selectin Clumn. The linked ICD-10 cdes are listed in the ICD-10 Selectin Clumn. Additinal ICD-10 cdes can be entered in the ICD-10 Selectin Clumn as needed. Any linked ICD-9 cdes are displayed in the ICD-9 Selectin Clumn t the right. 4. When finished entering the necessary ICD-10 cdes, click the OK Buttn. The selected ICD- 10 cdes are displayed in the Charge Psting Windw. Nte: The diagnsis cde fields are nw read-nly and will remain s until a different patient is selected. T make changes, click the ICD10 Link again. Page 12

14 Batch Verificatin ICD-10 cdes are verified in Duplicate Check, Cde Check, and the Batch Verificatin Detail Windw. Transactin Update When utilizing the Update Diagnsis Feature in the Transactin Update Windw, the Suite will lk t the ICD-10 cdes n the Status Sectin f Patient Definitin. PQRS Wrk List (Frmerly PQRI Wrk List) Nte: After enabling ICD-10 billing, PQRS measures with linked diagnsis cdes must be re-defined with ICD-10 cdes. The PQRS Psting Windw displays the linked ICD-10 cdes. Suspense Psting The Suspense Psting Windw displays the eight (8) ICD-10 required diagnsis cde fields. Transactins with up t eight (8) diagnses can be psted in Suspense. The Diag 1 Clumn in bth the Suspense Wrk List and the Suspense Wrk List - All Errrs Windws display the ICD-10 cde linked t the transactin. Switching frm ICD-10 t ICD-9 Billing in Suspense The Switch t ICD9 Link can be clicked t pst charges using ICD-9 standards. Nte: Only ne methd f billing can be used at a time. If the ICD9 Link is selected, the ICD10 Link is grayed ut and visa versa. Page 13

17 All Suspense Transactins Reprt Scheduler Patient Appintment Windw ICD-10 cdes can be selected frm the Diagnsis Field. Click the Switch t ICD-9 Link t view the ICD-9 cde that was previusly linked t the selected Appintment Type. Nte: When viewing ICD-9 cdes, click the Switch t ICD-10 Link t return t the Patient Appintment Windw with the ICD-10 cde listed. 7 additinal diagnsis fields are available in the Additinal Diagnsis Cdes Windw. Nte: The Additinal Diagnsis Cdes Windw is available frm the Activities Menu within the appintment. Page 16

18 EMRge Orders ICD-10 cdes can be added t an rder. Als, when searching fr an ICD cde frm the Orders Windw, the ICD-10 Definitin Table displays. Nte: This feature requires that the ICD-10 Billing and Supprt Clinical Parameters are enabled. ICD-10 cdes display in the Print Preview and n the printed requisitin. Nte: If ICD-9 and ICD-10 cdes are used, bth will display in the Print Preview and n the printed requisitin. Charting If the selected ICD-10 is linked t multiple ICD-9 cdes, the user is prmpted t select the desired cde. Charge Capture When the ICD-10 settings are enabled, ICD-10 cdes can be linked t CPT cdes in rder, making them available in Charge Capture/E-Superbill. Nte: This feature relies n bth the Enable CPT/ICD9-ICD10 linking in charting Parameter and the Enable CPT/ICD9-ICD10 linking in charting Parameter. Hspital Runds Hspital Runds Definitin 8 diagnsis cde fields are available in the Hspital Rund Definitin Windw. Page 17

19 Click the Switch t ICD-9 Link t view the ICD-9 cdes that were previusly linked t the Hspital Rund. Radilgy The Prcedure Detail Windw displays the eight (8) diagnsis cde fields. Nte: Fr prcedures entered prir t enabling ICD-10 billing, the diagnsis cde fields are blank. Click the Switch t ICD-9 Link t view the previusly entered ICD-9 cdes. Page 18
