Tony Fagan from Where to from here Tony s focus as a consultant to many RTOs, is to take them from thinking about compliance, towards operating in a quality management environment with one eye always on business excellence. He is a strong advocate of the concept that the principles of quality management underpinning sustainable business. Tony has worked in Vocational Education and Training for over 20 years in many roles including RTO Management, auditing, instructional design and training and assessing. The session will explore simple changes you can make within your organisation that will help you find the balance. Maciek is the Director of RTO Management Group as well as the Editor of RTO Management Magazine and has been working as a consultant in the VET sector for over a decade, focusing on the development of training within RTOs. Maciek holds his Lead Auditor Certification and has professional membership with the Australian Institute of Training and Development, the Institute of Learning Practitioners, the Institute of Learning and Development and the Vocational Education and Training Industry Group. Maciek is also a member of the Entrepreneur Organisation and earlier this year was appointed as an approved ACPET RTO Health check consultant.

Ray Wallbank operates Go Wild Reptiles and operates within Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI) and Animal Ethics Committee (AEC) Approval. Demonstrators Permit, Damage Mitigation Permit, Rehabilitation Permit, Spotter Catcher Permit and Recreational (Specialist) Permit and will demonstrate snakes and the use of the PIT bandage.

5 DAY TWO (continued) Epilepsy and convulsions Yvette McMurtie from Epilepsy Queensland 1.30 Cardiac arrest survivor story Louise Owen First aid trainer Since 2006 as a client service officer. In 2010 she was appointed as Client Services Coordinator, leading a professional team of four consisting of counsellors, teachers, nurses and disability support workers. Epilepsy Queensland s vision is to bring epilepsy out of the shadows and to optimise life for people touched by epilepsy. Louise was 26 weeks pregnant and at work when she unexpectedly suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest in front of her Year 9 students. Louise had trained the students in CPR and they were very quick to respond to her situation. CPR was applied and the ambulance was called. Louise made a complete recovery and has since received a heart transplant. Louise has spoken at International Conferences, appeared on television and has had her remarkable story written in newspapers and magazines across the country. She continues to deliver the message of the importance of CPR, defibrillation and organ donation at every opportunity Project information Completion of project work and paperwork requirements Remote Indigenous training and the associated LLN issues. Martin Evans from Remote Area First Aid Martin will share his experiences delivering courses to the outback communities.
