5 TintWise POS Intrductin The sftware described in the present manual has been entirely develped by the sftware ffice f Her Eurpe S.r.l, with the purpse f addressing all pssible situatins that may arise, accrding t the experience and suggestins f ur technical assistance service. Therefre new functinalities have been added while trying t keep the applicatin as simple t use as pssible. Nnetheless, reading the present user s manual befre starting t use the sftware is highly recmmended. The TintWise POS (Pint f Sales) sftware allws managing mst HERO dispensers. The sftware features tw main areas: 1. Managing the frmula a. Described in detail further in this chapter. 2. Managing the dispenser a. Described in the next chapter; it differs frm dispenser t dispenser. The TintWise interface is simple and intuitive, very easy t use even fr inexperienced users. TintWise can manage varius lg-in levels, s sme features later described may be accessed nly with the prper lg-in level. 5

6 Minimum system requirements Full cmpatibility is guaranteed with Micrsft windw XP and Vista. Requirements: Screen reslutin: 1024x768 r higher. 1.4 GHz Celern prcessr (2.0 GHz Pentium 4 r higher - recmmended). 256 MB RAM r higher (512 MB recmmended). Operating system: windw XP Hme, windw XP Pr r windw Vista.* Fr ther peripherals (USB, serial prts, etc.) see the chapter abut the dispenser mdel yu are using (recmmended: 4 USB prts + 1 serial prt + 2 PS2 prts fr muse and keybard). NOTICE: every peripheral r external drive (printers, labelling machines, spectrphtmeters, etc.) may need further specific prts. * Nte: The sftware can run under windw 2000, but Micrsft.NET Framewrk 2.0 must be installed (Internet Explrer r higher, windw Installer 2.0 r higher) befre running the TintWise setup. A light versin f TintWise is available which can run under windw 98, but Micrsft.NET Framewrk 2.0 (Internet Explrer r higher, windw Installer 2.0 r higher) and Micrsft Data Access Cmpnents (MDAC) must be installed befre running the TintWise setup. Running the sftware under windw 98 is nt recmmended because f functinalities limitatins. 6

7 Sftware installatins T install the sftware run the Setup.exe file frm the installatin CD and fllw the screen instructins. Picture 1: Select yur language and click OK. Picture 2: Click Next. 7

11 Main windw The TintWise start windw shws the main perating instructins and peratins. Selecting and dispensing frmulas is pssible directly frm the main windw. Buttns and menus give access t all f the ther functinalities. The main windw can be custmized and differ frm user t user (Title, Lg, etc.) accrding t the installed database and the current lgin level (see Managing Lgins). Exit: exits the applicatin Right side buttns frmula management: Delete Frmula: delete the selected frmula (nly fr custm frmulas) Print Label: prints ne r mre labels fr the selected frmula. Edit Frmula: changes the selected frmula and pssibly save it as a custm frmula. Manual Frmula: creates, dispense and saves a new frmula. 11

12 Frmulatin can be accessed frm the fllwing sectins in the central area: Standard: standard frmulatin cannt be changed with TintWise POS. Database Upgrades can be made with the TintWise LAB sftware. Custm: custm frmula, as edited in the New/Edit windws. Search: advanced search fr a standard frmula thrugh the clr cde. Prductin queue: if a prductin queue has been created, a sectin is added t manage it. T view the inf n the desired sectin, click the crrespnding vice. 12

13 Selectin and dispense f a standard frmula Depending n hw it is created, frmulatin can be divided n varius selectin levels. TintWise will shw a grid fr each level. In the Picture belw (Picture 10), frmulatin is viewed by Cllectin and Prduct. By clicking n the crrespnding vice, the selectin field is expanded. Picture 10: Cllectin selectin. 14 Picture 12: Frmula selectin. Selecting is pssible either by duble clicking the chsen line r by writing the instructin in the text field n tp f the grid and pressing ENTER t cnfirm. Aut-cmpletin will suggest varius ptins as yu write. Clicking the Zm icn pens a new text field, in which filter instructins are displayed as entered. In Picture 13 the filter is set n 70, s nly the vices cntaining 70 are displayed in the grid. 14

15 Picture 13: Example f filter Once the frmula is selected, it is pssible t select the desired fill level. Depending n the installed database, different fill level can be btained accrding t the prduct and the base selected fr a specific frmula. 15

If it is nt amng the available nes, a custm fill level can be selected by duble clicking the red can icn Custm. Base quantity: the frmula is re-edited n the actual quantity f base present in the fill level. Finished Prduct: the frmula is re-edited n the finished prduct, that is base + clring. 16

17 After selecting the desired fill level, set the number f cans t dispense, click dispense (r press F2 n the keybard) and fllw the instructins. If custmer management is available, yu will be asked t select it (if nt already selected). The Keep it fr next dispenses ptin will allw yu t keep the chsen custmer valid fr next dispensing t. It s pssible t reach the same windw clicking the related buttn frm the main page. 18 Picture 18: Running dispensing By clicking Stp, the dispensing is immediately interrupted. During the clr mixing an animatin is displayed. At the end a cnfirmatin message will pp up. 20 Selecting and dispensing a custm frmula Custm frmulas are stred with many keys, s that inserting mre infrmatin and selecting peratins can be easier. The number and descriptin f thse keys can be edited in the Sftware Optin windw, later discussed. 21 Advanced search The Advanced Search tl allws selecting a frmula by its clr cde, thus ignring any previus selectin. T use the tl a search functin must be created, either thrugh the TintWise LAB sftware (see the user s manual), r directly frm TintWise POS. An apprpriate lgin level is necessary t create an advanced search. After the advanced search is created, the Search buttn will appear in the main windw. At this pint the clr cde must be selected first, and then TintWise will display all prducts cntaining the selected cde. Picture 22: Clr cde selectin 21

23 Creating / Editing a frmula It is pssible t edit and/r save a custm frmula frm an existing ne ( Edit buttn in the main windw) r create a new ne ( New buttn in the main windw). In bth cases the same windw will be accessed; if editing ccurs, the selected frmula data will be shwn. The windw can be used bth t manually edit and save a custm frmula. Picture 24: New/Edit frmula As with the standard frmula it is pssible t set the varius selectin levels, the fill level and the base quantity set fr the frmula. By disabling the Recalculate quantity (lwer left crner), it is pssible t change the fill level while keeping the frmula unchanged. T edit a frmula just enter the dsage quantity in the prper clrants text fields and click Dispense. By clicking the Save buttn, a cnfirmatin n the search keys will be required t save the custm frmula. 23

25 Canisters windw The Canisters windw can be accessed directly frm the main windw by clicking the crrespnding buttn. It als pps up autmatically whenever a filling-up is needed befre a dispense, as previusly discussed. Depending n the lgin level, the windw will shw mre r less ptins. At Operatr level, nly filling-ups and purges can be made, besides mnitring the present levels. Mst Her dispensers can t determine the levels autmatically, s the values must be updated manually if a filling-up is needed; if a scale is cnnected t the dispenser, an autmatic setting will manage the peratins abve n the basis f a theretical r real value. NOTICE: the prduct dispensed with manual cmmands will nt be taken ff autmatically. Picture 26: Canisters windw The windw lists: 1. The canister number 2. The cde and descriptin f the assciated clr 3. 26 If the filling-up buttn is red, then the crrespnding canister is belw alert level (Picture 26, canister 3), when it is yellw, then it is belw warning level (Picture 26, canister 4). When the purge buttn is red, then the crrespnding canister is n red alert, because it was nt used recently and a purge is needed befre using it. Alert and purge mdes depend n the parameters described later in this chapter. Buttns: Purge all: all canisters are purged (except the empty nes). Purge canisters in alert: all canisters in alert are purged. Start agitatin: allws agitating the clr in the canisters, very useful especially after fillingup. Agitatin will stp autmatically after a few minutes, but it can be stpped manually at any time by pressing the prper buttn. Exit: exits the canisters windw Click the filling-up buttn, enter the fill-up quantity and press Add. 27 By clicking the scale icn an autmatic filling-up can be dne, and TintWise will determine the filling-up needed by cmparing the weight f the canister befre and after use. 30 Picture 35: Change assciatin A clr can be assciated t mre canisters. This functin is called multi canister. Depending n the dispenser, varius ptimizatins are run n the dispenses in rder t increase its perfrmance. Multi canister can bth increase the available capacity and reduce dispense times when mre dispensers wrk tgether. Canister data can be accessed and changed in the detail windw. 30

31 Picture 36: Levels detail Picture 36 shws hw t change alert and warning levels, the present level and the canister capacity. Sme changes may nt be pssible withut the apprpriate lgin level. Ntice: the dispensing will be stpped if the clr level in the canister is belw alert level; the warning is used t tell the peratr that the prduct is running ut, but it desn t stp the dispense. 31

32 Purge parameters Purge parameters can differ frm dispenser t dispenser. In the next paragraph the basic features shared amng all Her dispensers are reviewed. Picture 37: purge parameters Purge settings can be custmized fr each canister. That allws managing the purge peratins in mst apprpriate way fr every different clr. Tw different purge settings are available fr each canister: nrmal and advanced. TintWise autmatically selects the setting type depending n hw lng the circuit was unused. The advanced purge settings apply t canisters unused fr a very lng time, as define in the vice Alert time. In the example in Picture 37: If the circuit was used ver the last 12 hurs then it is nt in purge alert, s dispensing is pssible. 32

33 If the circuit was unused ver the last 12 hurs, then it is in purge alert, and purge befre dispense is necessary. If 12 t 72 hurs have passed since last use, TintWise uses the nrmal purge settings. If mre than 72 hurs have passed since last use, TintWise uses the advanced purge settings. Sme dispensers feature a clumn called Run-in. Data inserted in that clumn will replace the nrmal purge settings during the first stage f the pump s activity. All parameters can be edited by duble clicking the crrespnding vice. Quantity: set the purge quantity dispense. Speed: set the engine/pump speed fr purge. Unlck cycles: number f unlck cycles. An unlck cycle is the dispensing f small quantities befre the actual purge starts, t facilitate the pump r valve unlcking. Unlck quantity: set the dispense quantity fr the unlck cycles. In sme dispensers, the quantity is nt set in ml, but in number f steps frward and reverse. Unlck speed: set the unlck cycle speed. Alert time: set the purge alert time. Fr further infrmatin n the purge parameters settings, please refer t the chapter dispensers. 33

34 Lgin levels management Tw lgin management mdes are available in TintWise: Level mde A different passwrd can be set fr each level. By default, three levels are available. Operatr: n passwrd is set. Only basic peratins are pssible. This is the sftware starting level. Technical: n passwrd is set. Only maintenance and calibratin peratins are pssible. Service Tech/administratr: passwrd is Prducer. Cmplete access t all f the available features. Operatr mde An peratr list can be added t each level. Operatrs lg in with their name and a custm passwrd. By default n peratr is set in TintWise. Click the Lgin buttn t access the lgin windw. If peratrs are set, the peratr lgin will pen, therwise the level lgin will pen. These windws can als be accessed frm the main windw (File-Lgin). 35 Picture 39: Change passwrd The current passwrd must be entered nce; the new passwrd must be entered twice. NOTICE: N passwrd can be set fr the starting level. Lgin rganizatin: Depending n the lgin level used t access the sftware, mre r less functins are available. The cnfiguratin can be changed frm the main windw: Tls-Organize lgin. Frm this windw is it pssible t: Add/Remve/Change a lgin level. Add/Remve/Change an peratr. Change the passwrds. It is pssible t change nly the settings f lgin-levels lwer than the current level. 40 Sftware ptins The sftware ptins windw can be accessed frm the Tls-Optins menu in the main windw, where TintWise can be custmized accrding t the different user's needs. The windw is divided int categries. Mre r less sectins might be available depending n the lgin level. General parameters: Picture 48: General paramters Language: select the display language fr TintWise. Shw creatin date: if checked, nce the frmula is selected, it will be pssible t view the creatin date, the list f clrants and their quantities in the detail windw (see picture 49). Shw base quantity: if checked, the base quantity will be shwn in the frmula detail. Shw frmula ntes: if a frmula has ne r mre ntes, they will be shwn during the frmula selectin. Shw frmula ntes cnfirmatin windw: if enabled and if a frmula has ne re mre ntes, TintWise will shw a cnfirmatin windw befre t start a dispensing. 40

41 Shw frmula clr: if the infrmatin abut the finished clr f a frmula is stred int the database, it will be shwn during the frmula selectin. Selectin grids: autmatic filter if nt fund: if enabled and during a selectin yu write a nt recgnized cde, pressing enter it becmes autmatically a selectin filter. Otherwise an advise message will be shwn. Shw Remve the can message: if selected, the message will be shwn at the end f every dispensing. Manage custmers: if selected, yu will see the custmer selectin buttn in the main page. Always shw custmer selectin befre dispense: if selected, the custmer selectin page will be shwn befre every dispensing. Manage frmula percentage: enable/disable the frmula percentage management (see the nte here belw *). If disabled, the related buttn will be never displayed. Allw typing f randm percentage: if enabled, it will be pssible t type the percentage, therwise it will be pssible nly t use the percentages frm the list. Shw frmula percentage icn n main page: shw the frmula percentage buttn in the main page, t use it directly n standard and custm frmulas. If disabled, the buttn will be displayed nly n New/Mdify frmula windw. Standard frmula selectin mde: Default: the selectin f the frmula cde is dne n the last selectin level, s after selected all ther infrmatin (prduct etc.). On level [x]: the selectin f the frmula cde is dne n the selected level. Fr selectin mdes different by Default, TintWise will use the advanced search indexes, if they dn t exist, TintWise will autmatically ask t create them. Grid selectin mde Duble click Single click Using the buttns it s pssible t custmize the clr f the text and the backgrund in the frmula detail fr every selected item. The custmizatin will happen by the fllwing windw. 41

43 Units f measurement: Picture 51: Unit f measurement The units f measurement listed in the drp-dwn menus can change depending n the crrespnding details. See paragraph Units f measurement. It is pssible t custmize the units f measurements used t view data by: Cmpnents: views the quantity f clrants in the frmula, add frmula frm the New/edit windw. Base: views the quantity f base in the frmula. Canister level: views the levels in the canisters windw. Filling-up: adds filling-up quantity. Capacity: views capacity in the canisters windw. If a fractinal measurement unit fr clrants is selected, it s pssible t set the maximum number f fractins t be viewed in frmula view. This kind f displaying is quite useful when using manual dispensers. 43

If the duble price management is enabled fr the database, in this page yu will have the pssibility t insert tw different VAT and tw different markups (bth fr clrants and bases). 47 External frmula: Picture 55: External frmula TintWise can imprt frmulas frm a text file r an external frmulatin r clr management sftware. TintWise must be instructed n where the file is stred. Use external frmula: imprting frm external sftware is enabled. External frmula file name: the path and flder where the frmula text file is stred. Entire flder: if checked, all files in the flder will be read and added t the dispense queue. External frmula file name: name f the swap file (if Entire Flder is unchecked). It must be used when the external sftware replaces the same file again and again. Mst frmulatin and clr management sftwares wrk this way. Add external frmula in Dispense queue: if checked, the external frmula is nt laded and dispensed, but added t the dispense queue. Frmat: the swap file frmat. Select the crrect frmat by clicking the Change buttn. Frmats may change depending n the prgram in use. 47

50 Lg: Picture 58: Lg The main page lg (upper right crner) can be custmized with a persnal/business lg. Infrmatin are later displayed in the?-infrmatin windw. 50

51 Advanced: Picture 59: Advanced Check maintenance at startup: check t shw/hide the maintenance request at sftware startup. Start with last selected frmula: n startup, the last selected frmula is shwn. If unchecked, n startup the first level f the standard frmula is displayed. Enable AutDetect fill level: the fill level is autmatically detected with the scale cnnected, by weighing the can and the base already present in the can. If checked, the AutDetect fill level vice is added t the frmula selectin. A scale is required fr this feature t be active. Always ask fr cnfirmatin: ask fr cnfirmatin nce the fill level is detected. Threshld: tlerance threshld fr the fill level detectin. Change custm database fr each cnfiguratin: if different cnfiguratins are used, it is pssible t chse whether t keep a custm database shared amng the cnfiguratins. Clumns in New/edit windw: if lng descriptins are required fr the clrants, viewing the windw New/edit frmula by gruping all clrants n a single clumn might be very useful. 51

52 Custm frmula keys: edit the number f the memry keys t be used in the custm frmulas. Custm frmula key descriptin: the keys descriptin can be edited. The descriptins are shwn in the clumn headings in the custm frmula sectin. Dispenser: the dispenser driver currently in use. 52

53 Prices management Prices can be in the standard database r can be added/mdified directly frm TintWise. Prices depend n sme data/settings: Clrants prices: price/liters r price/weight. Base price: price/liters r price/weight. Can price: the abslute can price. The can is intended fr a defined selectin, s its price will include the previusly weighed base already added fr a specific prduct. If can price is checked, the price n liters r weight will be ignred because it is already included. Fixed price f a frmula: if a fixed price is set fr a specific frmula, all ther data are ignred. TAX: added t the final price (see Sftware ptins). Markup n base: value added t the base price (see Sftware ptins). Markup n clrants: value added t the clrants price (see Sftware ptins). Set the number f lines first, and then define each line by selecting it n the grid, and then the text t be printed and its fnt. Up t 5 fields can be added t every line. All text present in the text fields will be printed as typed. If a vice is selected frm the drp-dwn menu, the infrmatin text will depend n the selected frmula. 66

Send yur request cde t HERO t receive yur activatin cde. Activatin is necessary n every PC running the prgram. T prceed with the activatin the fllwing data are required: request cde, type and dispenser serial number. T activate fllw the menu?-activate. 80 Dispensers Instructins differ accrding t the dispenser in use. The cmmn pages are listed belw. TintWise can manage the fllwing dispensers: Archimede Eureka Newtn Te Sme features (like dispense strategy, vlumetric calibratins and cnnecting a scale t the PC) are cmmn t all types f dispensers, s they are discussed at the end f the present chapter. Archimede/Eureka Sftware peratins in Archimede and Eureka are the same, s they will be discussed in the same chapter. Bth machines are available in a sequential and simultaneus versin, but the difference is clear during TintWise peratins. Nte: the wrd speed refers t the speed necessary t start a circuit. That speed is always shwn in percentage f the highest speed limit. 0% means the lwest pssible speed. Basic system requirements Besides the requirements listed in the first chapter, the fllwing are present: cnnectin t the dispenser Up t a 16 canisters: 1 USB prt. Abve 16 canisters: 2 USB prts. cnnectin t the scale 1 serial prt (a USB t serial prt cnnectr can be used if the prt is nt available but in this case ne mre free USB prt becmes necessary). Setup The PC cntrls the dispenser thrugh the USB crd (2 crds fr the versins with mre than 16 canisters). As always, windw requires installing the prper drivers fr the USB prts. When the new device is fund, windw infrms the user that New hardware fund and start the driver setup. Click Install after inserting the TintWise installatin CD t autmatically cmplete the drivers setup. 80

Fr each dispense the dispenser will run the fllwing peratins. 1. Clrant dispensing 2. Waiting time 3. suck back After every dispensing a drp always remains within the nzzle. Waiting is necessary fr the drp t be stabilized (a shrter r lnger time depends n the prducts used), then the suck back can be run, in rder t suck the drp back int the nzzle. The ability t repeat a dispense effectively strngly depends n the waiting time and the perfrmance f the suck back. The waiting time is the time it takes the drp t becme cmpletely still in its psitin befre the suck back starts. The suck back brings the drp 1 mm back int the nzzle. These parameters can be custmized fr every circuit (see paragraph Calibratin). 82

83 If the dispenser is cnnected t a scale and set t wrk alng with it, the dispense prcedure is mre cmplex. Fr the necessary weight t be reached, sme dispenses will be made while keeping the scale under cntrl. T achieve a higher precisin level, the final part f the dispense shuld be dne drp by drp. Calibratin Calibratin is the prcedure necessary fr a series f dispenses vlumetric and t set the parameters fr the suck back. The calibratin parameters can be viewed in the canisters windw, under the Calibratin sectin. Ntice: We highly recmmend perfrming sme tests befre setting the calibratin, in rder t evaluate the quality and settings f the suck back. The parameters that can be changed manually are: Quantity f suck back: General sectin Waiting time: Threshld sectin (line by line editing). Fr further infrmatin n the parameters abve, please see the fllwing sectins. A scale is always needed t run a calibratin. TintWise can cnnect t mst scales n the market. Nnetheless, data can be added manually, but the calibratin prcess will take much lnger. 83

Quantity: quantity f a drp in ml. Autmatically determined during calibratin. Drp settings: Speed: the pump speed during the fine drp dispensing. Threshld: belw this value a fine drp dispensing is required. Waiting time: waiting time between n drp and the next during the fine drp dispensing. Last drp waiting time: waiting time after the last fine drp dispensing, befre the suck back starts. 85

Advanced: 4 rtatins. threshlds: start calibratin f the parameters frm the threshlds sectin. Fast: One 50 ml dispense, which influences all the threshlds. Use the quick calibratin nly t fix an existing calibratin. Advanced: the selected threshlds are calibrated. Use the advanced calibratin befre a dispenser calibratin. It may be avided nly if data frm a previus calibratin (frm a dispenser with the same cnfiguratin) have been installed. Press the Calibrate buttn and calibratin will start autmatically. At the beginning yu will be asked t enter the capacity f the can yu are using, s that the dispensed quantity can be cntained in that can. If the calibratin is dne with a lw end scale, it is necessary t set the can capacity s that the lw end is never exceeded. Cnfirmatin instructins are required nly in case f: drp calibratin: cunt and enter the number f drps prduced during the calibratin. Filling-up the canister r replacing the can when necessary. During the calibratin a graphical preview f the current test is shwn n the right side f the screen. At the end, a cnfirmatin message is displayed. Only cntrl: dispenses are vlumetric, but a reprt with the quantity dispensed will be viewed at the end f every dispense. Gravimetric autcalibratin: enable gravimetric dispense with gravimetric autcalibratin. Gravimetric dispense: tlerance: the dispense stps when it is within tlerance level. T be within tlerance, the errr margin frm the target value must fllw bth a percentage and an abslute parameter. Examples in Picture 108: 100 ml percentage tlerance: 1% = 1 ml abslute tlerance: 0,5 ml. The dispense will be in a tlerance range between 99,5 and 100,5 ml. 1 ml percentage tlerance: 1% = 0,01 ml abslute tlerance: 0,5 ml. The dispense will be within a tlerance range between 0,99 and 1,01 ml. Ntice: if the errr is lwer than half the minimum dispensable quantity (drp) as calculated during calibratin, the dispense is validated within tlerance. threshld: aut calibratin starts belw this threshld. With the aut calibratin the dispense is split int tw parts; the secnd half will be calibrated nce the first calibratin is ver. Usually the aut calibratin is nt necessary, s we recmmend setting this value quite high, at abut 50 ml.
