1 Title: Remte Access Via Internet Date: 12/21/2011 Versin: 1.1 Prduct: Hikvisin DVR Actin Required: Infrmatin Only The fllwing steps will guide yu thrugh the steps necessary t access yur Hikvisin DVR remtely via the internet fr yur iphne, ipad PC and Andrid device.. Befre prceeding, please cnnect yur DVR t yur ruter and use a cmputer that is cnnected t the same ruter. And make sure that yur cmputer can access the internet. After prperly setting up prt frwarding n yur ruter, yu will be able t access yur DVR thrugh Internet Explrer and ur client sftware. STEP 1: Obtaining Yur Netwrk Settings Open a cmmand prmpt n the cmputer Windws Vista and 7 users Lcate the Windws Icn in the bttm left crner f the task bar. In the Search bx, type cmd r cmmand t lcate the cmmand prmpt. Fllwing the available prmpt, type ipcnfig and press Enter. Windws NT, 2000, and XP users Lcate the Windws Icn in the bttm left crner f the task bar. Click Run. Type cmd r cmmand and press enter. Fllwing the available prmpt, type ipcnfig and press Enter. This will bring up a display f yur netwrk settings. Make sure t write dwn the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway. This will display the address f yur ruter. 2 Nw check fr an pen address n the netwrk, make sure t use an address that is in the same subnet. (Example: if yu re gateway is yu want t check fr an address available like r , and s frth.) Optin 1 (Static IP Address): Yu can check the address availability by perfrming the Ping peratin. T d this, in the cmmand prmpt, type ping If there is a reply the address is already in use. If there is n reply (request timed ut) the address is available fr use. Yu have fund an available address in the same subnet, yu can assign this address (Static Address) t the DVR. 1. Enter the Netwrk Cnfiguratin interface f the DVR. 2. Access Main Menu by right clicking n the mnitr using a muse and enter the passwrd at the prmpt. 3. G t System Cnfiguratin >> Netwrk Cnfiguratin. Enter the available static address Subnet Mask ( , etc.) Enter Default Gateway address yu made a nte f earlier. Optin 2 (Dynamic IP Address): Yu can enable the DHCP checkbx in the DVR Netwrk Cnfiguratin interface. 1. Enter the Netwrk Cnfiguratin interface f the DVR. 2. Access Main Menu by right clicking n the mnitr using a muse and enter the passwrd at the prmpt. 3. G t System Cnfiguratin >> Netwrk Cnfiguratin. Check the DHCP radi bx, and click Save. Rebt the system. Return t the Netwrk Cnfiguratin t check what the current IP address is. It will be listed under Current Cnfiguratin >> IP Address. 3 STEP 2: Cnfirm yur DVR Cnnectin Open the Internet Explrer brwser. *Nte that Internet Explrer (64-bit) is nt currently supprted. Type the IP address f the DVR in the Internet Explrer address bar. Internet Explrer will prmpt yu t install the ActiveX cntrl. Click and install the ActiveX cntrl. The user lgin interface will be displayed as shwn: Input the crrect user name, passwrd, and prt. The default manufacturer lgin infrmatin is: user name: admin passwrd: prt: 8000 After successful lg in, the fllwing interface will appear. Chse yur display cnfiguratin (in red) and Duble click n Embedded Net DVR. Yur cameras will ppulate live view. Hikvisin Digital Technlgy C., Ltd.

4 STEP 3: Prt Frwarding Yur Ruter By default, Hikvisin uses: HTTP Prt: 80 Device Prt: 8000 Enabling Prts t be frwarded t a device n yur lcal netwrk will give users remte access t the device frm the internet. (Fr mre infrmatin abut Prt Frwarding, refer t Prt Frwarding.pdf and Prt Frwarding n a Netgear Ruter.pdf) Once yu have accessed the ruter successfully, fllw the steps t guide yurself t the prt frwarding interface. Once in the interface frward the fllwing prts: http prt and client prt. By default, Hikvisin uses: HTTP Prt: 80 Device Prt: 8000 Every mdel f Ruter is different. A very helpful site is: r refer t yur ISP prviders and ruter manual. *Helpful Tip: - If yu are unable t access the default ruter address, use the Default Gateway address. - A rebt and reset f the default ruter settings may be necessary. STEP 4: Cnfirm yur DVR Remte Cnnectin Open an Internet Explrer brwser and prceed t the website: This tester will prvide yu yur external IP address and a prt s status. 1. Enter 80 (r yur http prt) in the Prt number field 2. Click n the Check buttn. If yu re prt is frwarded successfully, yu status will be shwn as pen. Hikvisin Digital Technlgy C., Ltd. L-call:

5 3. Repeat step 1 and 2 fr prt 8000 (r yur client prt). 4. If bth prts are frwarded prperly, use the external IP address t cnnect remtely t yur DVR frm utside the netwrk. 5. T test this, have smene cnnect t the external IP address via Internet Explrer ff site, yur lgin infrmatin will be the same as the DVR nce cnnected.
