2 Who We Are ibridges is all about networking and education ibridges is an open, inclusive and collaborative initiative which aims to empower a worldwide high-tech entrepreneurial community, focused on those of Iranian descent, to exchange knowledge, best practices, and innovative thinking. The ibridges community is committed to nurturing individuals who build and accelerate the growth of an Innovation Economy everywhere. Entrepreneurship At ibridges we believe that the promotion and development of entrepreneurial capacities is key for any community to elevate its social condition. Entrepreneurship opens minds. It enables people to shift their perspectives from seeing themselves as mere consumers, to operating as active producers, contributors and creators of their reality. In particular, high-tech entrepreneurship, leveraged by high-speed broadband, enables game-changing dynamics and new forms of engagement that promote diversity and global citizenship. It celebrates merit-based achievement, advocates participative management, and fosters shared ownership. These three elements are vital to establish a Global Innovation Economy. 2

5 Our ACTIVITIES Local activities for a global audience ibridge Conferences ibridge Conferences are three-day events held at major startup cities around the world. We bring American, Asian and European entrepreneurs together to explore the role that a high-tech entrepreneurial ecosystem can play in economic development and diversification. PITCHFEST & SHOWCASE We provide an opportunity for the startups to participate in PitchFest, an international pitching contest for early stage high-tech startups. Entrepreneurs can also showcase their company in the Exhibits area. Startups with at least one founder of Iranian descent are eligible to apply. Mentorship To achieve our educational goals, we connect entrepreneurs and startup founders with experienced investors and successful entrepreneurs. ibridges provides a dynamic platform for a 1-to-1 mentoring relationship. MATCH Match is a series of facilitated networking sessions to reach and connect all conference participants. Think speed dating for entrepreneurs! 5

6 Berkeley Berlin Barcelona Our Timeline ibridges evolution ibridge Berkeley ibridge Berkeley was a one day sold-out conference held at the University of California, Berkeley on September 6, As a groundbreaking event, it brought together over 700 attendees, thought leaders, and seasoned entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley and Iran to explore the opportunities and challenges of high-tech entrepreneurship in Iran and their impact on the country s ongoing economic development. Introducing Iran s high-tech startup players to Silicon Valley entrepreneurs ibridge Berlin ibridge Berlin was a threeday event held June 4-6, 2015 in Berlin, Germany. It brought together more than 1000 entrepreneurs from 35 countries to explore the role that a high-tech entrepreneurial ecosystem can play in Iran s economic development and diversification. The event included keynote speeches, panel discussions, and breakout sessions, as well as visits to local incubators in Berlin. Introducing entrepreneurs around the globe to Iran s high-tech entrepreneurs ibridge Barcelona ibridge Barcelona is a three-day event to be held December 8-10, 2016 in Barcelona, Spain. It will be the global meetup with hightech entrepreneurs of Iranian descent who come from across the world to share experiences, challenges, and success stories with colleagues, potential investors, and corporate partners.
