3 INTRODUCTION TO MINDMANAGER SERVER WITH SHAREPOINT MindManager Server gives cmpanies utilizing Micrsft SharePint the ability t view and display Mindjet map (.mmap) files directly within the SharePint envirnment, withut requiring any prprietary sftware installed n the individual user s lcal cmputer. In additin, yu can cnfigure the SharePint server t let users edit maps directly frm SharePint lists and embed map Web Parts in yur SharePint sites. MindManager Server adds five distinct capabilities t yur SharePint envirnment: 1. View maps: Allws users with SharePint access t view any map stred in a dcument list. Users can select View in Brwser in the dcument list t pen the selected map in Mindjet Mindjet All Rights Reserved Versin 2.0, September 15,

4 2. Edit maps: Allws users with SharePint access t edit any map stred in SharePint. Users can select Edit in Brwser t pen and begin editing a map. 3. Interact with SharePint items: This allws users t bth search and create SharePint tasks frm the map. 5 4. Create new maps frm SharePint: SharePint users can create new dcuments frm the dcument library. A template library is installed n each site cllectin and SharePint Administratrs can add templates that they wuld like users t have access t. 5. Viewer Web Part: Allws a user with page edit privileges t add a Web Part t a SharePint page that displays a Mindjet map. 7 DEPLOY WITH SHAREPOINT 2010 Nte: if yu have installed a versin f the Mindjet MapShare n yur SharePint server, please use the uninstall instructins frm Uninstall Mindjet MapShare (page 15) t remve the applicatin frm yur system MindManager Server prvides integrated map supprt t yur SharePint 2010 envirnment by adding the fllwing functinalities: View & Edit: View and edit any Mindjet map (.mmap r.xmmap file) stred in a dcument list frm the brwser. Viewer Web Part: Display a specific map (.mmap r.xmmap file) in a SharePint page. Create New Maps: Frm a dcument library, create new map files. The prduct cnsists f tw Windws Slutin files (WSP) that can be installed int SharePint using basic Stsadm peratins. WINDOWS SOLUTION FILE (WSP) SHAREPOINT VERSION FEATURES Mindjet.SharePint.2010.wsp 2010 Viewer & Viewer Web Part Mindjet.SharePint.FileTypeAssciatr.wsp 2010 Mindjet file assciatin What Gets Installed When yu run the aut-installer, the fllwing SharePint slutins are deplyed: 1. Mindjet.SharePint.<SharePint Versin>.wsp adds: The Administratin screens; A handler reference t the applicatin web.cnfig (Nte: this change will cause an applicatin reset); ISAPI service handlers fr the SharePint 2010 server; A Mindjet flder t the Layut directry fr Mindjet-specific files; SafeCntrl t web.cnfig fr the applicatin Mindjet All Rights Reserved Versin 2.0, September 15,

8 2. Mindjet.SharePint.FileTypeAssciatr.wsp adds: Branded icns fr Mindjet file types t the DOCICON.XML file. Installatin MindManager Server has the fllwing requirements fr installatin: That yu have administrative privileges fr the server(s) hsting SharePint That Stsadm.exe is available n yur SharePint server. The default lcatin fr this utility is: C:\Prgram Files\Cmmn Files\Micrsft Shared\web server extensins\14\bin\ Add the MindManager Server Slutin Package t yur SharePint Farm 1. Cpy the WSP file int a flder n the Applicatin server f yur SharePint server. Example: C:\Mindjet. 2. Open a cmmand prmpt windw n Windws Server 2008, make sure yu pen the cmmand prmpt as Administratr. 3. Change the directry t the lcatin f yur Stsadm utility flder. 4. Add the Viewer/Viewer Web Part slutin package (WSP) by executing the fllwing cmmand: Stsadm.exe addslutin filename C:\Mindjet\Mindjet.SharePint.2010.wsp Nte: If yu d nt have SPTimer activated, yu will see the fllwing message after executing the cmmand in Step 4: The timer jb fr this peratin has been created, but it will fail because the administrative service fr this server is nt enabled. This will be addressed in the next step. 5. Run execadmsvcjbs t immediately prcess timer jbs t cmplete, adding the slutin t yur SharePint server by executing the fllwing cmmand: Stsadm.exe execadmsvcjbs Deply the MindManager Server Slutin Package There are tw ways t deply the MindManager Server Slutin package: via SharePint Central Administratin 2014 Mindjet All Rights Reserved Versin 2.0, September 15,

9 frm the cmmand line Each has its wn benefits: The Central Administratin utility allws yu t easily deply the slutin package t all SharePint servers in a multi-server envirnment. The cmmand line apprach allws administratrs t write scripts. The fllwing installatin prcedure uses the Central Administratin utility t deply MindManager Server. Fr infrmatin n hw t deply a WSP via the cmmand line, please read the fllwing Micrsft TechNet article: 1. Open the SharePint Central Administratin page by selecting SharePint 2010 Central Administratin frm the Start Menu. 2. 11 The Deply Slutin page will appear. The default settings will deply the WSP t all SharePint web applicatin servers immediately. (T deply nly t specific web applicatin, please see yur SharePint dcumentatin.) 6. Click OK t deply the Mindjet.SharePint.2010.wsp package. (Select the web applicatin that yu wuld like t deply t.) When this step is cmpleted, yu will return t the Slutin Management page. File Assciatr Installatin T install the Mindjet.SharePint.FileTypeAssciatr.wsp, cmplete steps 1 thrugh 6 abve using the Mindjet.SharePint.FileTypeAssciatr.wsp file instead f the Mindjet.SharePint.2010.wsp. 12 Deply the slutin t yur farm. License and Administratin After deplying the Slutin, yu must use the MindManager Server Administratin page t prvide yur Mindjet Administratin and yur license key. 1. Open the SharePint Central Administratin page. 2. Click n the MindManager Server Administratin link. 3. On the next page, enter yur license key and yur Administratin address Mindjet All Rights Reserved Versin 2.0, September 15,

13 The MindManager Server Administratin page allws a SharePint administratr t view the fllwing: MindManager Server Administratr address this address is displayed in errr messages sent t users, s that they can cntact the Administratr directly. Warning messages relating t license key expiratin r license nn-cmpliance als cntain this . License Key if the Administratr des nt enter a license key int the prduct during installatin, the installed system will be a trial versin f MindManager Server. Trial versins expire 30 days after the installatin date. If yu purchase additinal user licenses r extend yur subscriptin term fr MindManager Server, yu will be given a new license key. After the Administratr enters the new license key, the number f Licenses Purchased (see belw) and/r the Cntract Expiratin Date (see belw) will be updated within the prduct t reflect yur purchase, and will include the ttal number f user licenses allwed during yur new subscriptin term. Ntificatins and Reminders the ntificatins will be displayed t users as pp-up messages. Subscriptin expiratin messages are displayed if the crrespnding checkbx is selected. When n mre seats are available fr users, new users will receive a ppup message when they try t edit the map. License Cntract Number each SharePint server farm installatin will have its wn cntract assciated with it. If yu need t purchase additinal licenses, yu must reference this License Cntract Number when yu call yur sales representative. Licenses Purchased this is the ttal number f user licenses that have been purchased fr the server farm installatin Mindjet All Rights Reserved Versin 2.0, September 15,

14 Licenses Used when a user saves a map int SharePint frm MindManager Server, they are cunted as a Licensed User. (Nte: users wh view maps and/r edit maps withut saving the changes back int SharePint are nt cunted as Licensed Users.) Yu can cntrl the number f users wh will be cunted as Licensed Users by setting map file permissins in SharePint t read-nly, s that the user (r user grup) cannt save changes back t the SharePint lcatin. Users are cnsidered Licensed fr 90 days frm the date they last saved a map frm Mindjet int SharePint; if a user des nt access the applicatin fr 90 days, they are n lnger cnsidered a Licensed User. When the number f licenses used exceeds the number f licenses purchased, any additinal users (thse nt already cunted as Licensed) wh attempt t save a map frm Mindjet int SharePint will receive a warning message cntaining the Administratr address. Nte: these un-licensed users will still be able t save the map they are wrking n when they receive the ntificatin; they simply need t clse the errr message first. Installatin date The MindManager Server license expires after the license perid lapses. Cntract Expiratin date tw weeks after the Cntract Expiratin date, users will receive a warning message when they use MindManager Server advising them that the license has expired. If the administratr has entered an address in the SharePint Administratr address field, this address will be displayed in the warning message s that users will knw wh t cntact. Licensed Users this displays the names f users wh have saved maps int SharePint and the last date they have saved a map. Enable the MindManager Server Web Applicatin Feature 1. Under Applicatin Management, click Manage web applicatins. 2. Highlight the web applicatin t enable Mindjet functinality. 3. In the Web Applicatins tab, click Manage Features. 4. Find "MindManager Server" in the list f features and click Activate. 5. Wait fr the status t change t "Active Mindjet All Rights Reserved Versin 2.0, September 15,

15 Activate MindManager Server Templates 1. On the site cllectin where Mindjet Templates are desired, g t Site Actins > Site Settings. 2. Under Site Cllectin Administratin, select Site Cllectin Features. 3. Find the Mindjet Templates feature, and click Activate. Activate and use the Web Part Activate the Web Part in the Site Page 1. In the upper left crner in the Site Actins menu, click Site Settings. 2. Click Site Cllectin Administratin, and then click Site Cllectin Features. 3. Scrll dwn, select Mindjet Viewer Web Part, and then click Activate. Yu shuld nw see a Mindjet categry in the Insert Web Part menu n yur SharePint site. Use the Web Part When yu insert the Web Part n the page, yu must mdify it t indicate the map yu want it t display. 17 Install the IFilter Nte: The IFilter must be manually installed and stred n every Indexing server in the SharePint farm. The installatin steps: 1. Cpy the IFilter aut-installer t all SharePint Search server(s). 2. 18 UNINSTALL MINDJET MAPSHARE T uninstall Mindjet MapShare frm yur SharePint 2010 envirnment, fllw the steps belw. Remve All Instances f the Mindjet MapShare Web Part 1. Lg int the SharePint site using yur brwser. 2. On the page that cntains the MapShare Viewer Web Part, click Site Actins, and then click Edit Page. 3. Right-click n the Web Part, and then click Delete. 4. Click OK, and save the page. Nte: Yu will need t repeat this prcess fr all the sites that cntain the MapShare Web Part. Remve the Mindjet MapShare Web Part frm the sites cllectin gallery 1. Lg int the SharePint rt site using yur brwser. 2. Click Site Actins, and then click Site Settings. 3. Under Galleries, click Web Parts Mindjet All Rights Reserved Versin 2.0, September 15,

19 4. Select the MindjetViewerWebPart and click Edit. 5. In the pp-up windw, click Delete Item. 6. G back t Site Actins, and then click Site Settings. 7. Under the Site Cllectin Administratin, click Site cllectin features. 8. On the features page, if the Mindjet Viewer is still active, click Deactivate n the right. Undeply the Mindjet MapShare Web Part Slutin Use the Central Administratin utility t undeply Mindjet MapShare thrugh the Deply Slutin page.
