2 ABHI MedTech Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia 1 The Mission ABHI, in conjunction with UKTI, is planning to run a Medical Technology focused Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia, taking in both and Jeddah from the 29th September 4th October We would like to invite companies to register their interest with us. To book your place please complete and return this expression of interest to Liz.carrington@abhi.org.uk and she will forward on a booking form to be completed and returned for the closing date which is Wednesday 18th July Healthcare in Saudi Arabia continues to be a thriving sector as the government continues to finance health services for a rapidly growing population of 28 million, which is growing by more than 3 percent per annum. It is the largest market for medical equipment and healthcare products in the Gulf and Middle East. Market sources valued the medical equipment and supplies market in the Kingdom at 250 million in 2006, predominantly supplied through imports. Of this figure 69% accounted for medical equipment. This is expected to grow to 400 million by In 2011 UK exports of goods to Saudi Arabia were 3.1 billion, and services 2.9 billion (in 2010) giving a combined total of 6 billion. 3 ABHI MedTech Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia 2 The Programme Day 1 - Sunday : Sept 30, 2012 () 0610 Arrival of Delegates at Delegates reach Hotel Introduction/Welcome meeting at the Hotel A Visit to a well-known Hospitals (details to be provided later). (Format of the meeting: Introductions and round table discussion) 1315 A visit to a well-known hospital/saudi healthcare company (details to be provided later). (Format of the meeting: Introductions and round table discussion) 1900 Networking Reception. The reception will be at the Embassy s Amenity Hall. Each UK company will have a desk and they would be expected to have trade literature/laptop presentation to discuss partnering with Saudi companies. Present will be decision makers from the healthcare sector. Canapes and drinks will be served during the event Delegates depart for the hotel. Day 2 - Monday: October 01, 2012 () UK companies follow their own programme. Meetings with the prospective buyers/agents identified in their OMIS reports. Please note that the delegates need to start setting up the appointments atleast 2 weeks prior to their visit to Saudi Arabia Travel to the airport 1800 Flight to Jeddah

(Format of the meeting: Introductions and round table discussion) 1100 Meeting with a leading medical supplies company (TBC) Meeting with a leading healthcare company (TBC) Networking Reception. The reception will be at the British Consulate. Each UK company will have a desk and they would be expected to have trade literature/laptop presentation to discuss partnering with Saudi companies. Present will be decision makers from the healthcare sector. Canapes and drinks will be served during the event Depart Consulate for the Hotel Day 4 - Wednesday: October 04 th, 2012 () UK companies follow their own programme. Meetings with the prospective buyers/agents identified in their OMIS reports. Please note that the delegates need to start setting up the appointments atleast 2 weeks prior to their visit to Saudi Arabia Travel to the airport 2100 Flight to and onwards to London Heathrow ** Please note that the programme laid out above is subject to change **

You will be contacted by ABHI to process the payment in due course. As part of the package ABHI will be commissioning from UKTI a group OMIS on behalf of the UK delegation to help assist with the provision of meetings with buyers and distributers for the attending companies. Companies will be responsible for the cost of all meals, travel to individual meetings and subsistence. Companies must ensure that all staff are properly insured and have the appropriate documentation to travel. The closing date for applying for the mission is Wednesday 17 th July 2012, but you are advised to book as soon as possible. Please do not book any travel until we confirm your place. Further information on travel, logistics and a full programme will be sent to you once your place on the mission has been confirmed. Please note that for the mission to go ahead ABHI require a minimum of 10 companies to commit to attending and that ABHI reserves the right to cancel the mission should participation fall below this number.
