2 WHO WE ARE:, Northwest Arkansas s professional Theatre for Youth, is an innovative arts non-profit that empowers youth to forge deep connections s with themselves, mission is their to empower community youth and to forge the world by seeing, deep participating connections in with and themselves, learning through their community theatre. and was the founded world by by seeing, our Executive participating Director, in Kassie and learning through theatre. Misiewicz in 2008 because she saw a need for quality youth arts programming in Bentonville. We are a resident theatre company of Walton Arts Center, are annually supported by Walmart associates, the Walmart Foundation and in 2013, received a sizeable three-year grant from the Walton Family Foundation to further develop our NWA programming. To date, Trike has served over 40,000 people throughout our region and throughout Arkansas with: Theatre for Youth productions Outreach & Community Partnerships Academy Classes, Camps & Youth Theatre. is a 501c3 charitable organization founded in 2008 and based in Bentonville, Arkansas. We are a resident company of the Walton Arts Center and are supported by Walton Family Foundation and Walmart Foundation. Your sponsorship helps us strengthen and expand our educational programming that enrich the lives of children and families in Arkansas. We believe in a 360 theatre experience that empowers young people and families. The 360 theatre experience is s DNA - the lense through which we view and program everything. It is reflected in our three programs (Theatre for Youth, Academy and Outreach). And in each of those programs, participants will See, Learn and Do. THEATRE FOR YOUTH In Theatre for Youth, professional artists perform for youth and family audiences. Deeper connections are made thru pre-show interactive lobby experiences, family play guides and post-play discussions ACADEMY/Youth Theatre In Academy classes, camps and youth theatre productions, students dive deep into the creative process, building their dramatic, social and academic skills. We connect what they learn in Academy classes to the professional world of theatre. OUTREACH In Outreach, professional teaching artists partner with community organizations and use theatre strategies that forge connections to core subjects or skills.

3 Education Opportunities 2015 TRIKE THEATRE THEATRE FOR YOUTH Tomás and the Library Lady (a bi-lingual play in partnership with Walton Arts Center and The Jones Center) Dates TBD Based on the true story of the Mexican-American author and educator Tomás Rivera, a child of migrant workers who went on to become the first minority Chancellor in the University of California system, this inspirational story offers an opportunity to spot light our own immigrant spanish speaking community and celebrate their stories. ACADEMY /YOUTH THEATRE Digital Storytelling: Theatre & Technology (6-week afterschool class in the Bentonville Public Schools.) Pilot at four schools Winter/Spring 2015 and fully implement in the Fall 2015 In this STEAM program, students strengthen acting and playwriting skills while creating an original short movie. Program is free to students and a partnership with BPS. Scholarships for Camps/Classes/Youth Theatre (Trike receives over $5,000 in scholarship requests each year.) Students ages 4-18 learn life skills through stage skills at Trike Theatre s Academy classes/camps/youth theatre productions. We strive to ensure that these opportunities are accessible to everyone and are reflective of our increasingly diverse community.
