5 Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito THE CAUSE Every child needs a safe place where they feel welcomed and loved. We provide many children that place to call home through offering quality programs and scholarships. Last year alone, over $387,000 was allocated towards after school and program scholarships for the children who needed us most. We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that serves over 20,000 youth in north coastal San Diego. Our seven locations offer exceptional diverse programs ranging from afterschool and summer camp programs, to aquatics, athletics, middle school sports, our Montessori school and a Youth Arts Academy, and the Center for a Healthy Lifestyle. Through our wide variety of programs, we instill a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence and competence in our local youth. THE OPPORTUNITY Each year, the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Dieguito s Chip-In-For-Kids event welcomes new sponsors and in-kind donors who share in our mission of providing POSITIVE activities to local youth. 6 Chip In For Kids Golf Tournament 2015 Ace Title Sponsor $50,000 Sponsor the Summer Camp Program at the La Colonia Branch The La Colonia Branch, situated in the predominantly Hispanic community of Eden Gardens, Solana Beach, provides after-school and summer camp programs for 110 at-risk local youth. All 110 kids and teens come to our program at no cost to their families. Kindergarten through 12th graders attend camp free of charge from the middle of June through the end of August, Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm. During summer camp, staff focuses on athletics and team building, field trips, and other fun developmental activities for the program participants. Children are able to participate in many activities such as: going to the Del Mar Fair, bowling, ice skating, laser tag (teens), Magic Mountain (teens), Chuck E Cheese (kids), Sea World s Aquatica Water Park, San Diego Padres games, and an end-of-summer trip to Disneyland. They also participate in library story time and events, beach days, mobile arcades, and participate in healthy cooking, science activities, games, sports, and arts & crafts. The staff also spends time with both age groups brushing up on school skills, helping complete academic workbooks, and tutoring the teens in math during the long summer break from school. Your $50,000 sponsorship would ensure that all 110 members that attend the after school program at the La Colonia branch have access to a summer camp program that will enable them to grown as caring productive citizens, learn needed skills, and have fun while in a safe environment. 8 Chip In For Kids Golf Tournament 2015 Eagle Sponsor $25,000 Sponsor 15 local kids for the RSD Swim Team The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito s Rancho San Dieguito Swim Team (RSD) offers high quality, year-round competitive swimming with a dedicated and professional coaching staff. We emphasize stroke technique, training, and instruction for young athletes of all abilities. Our athletes range from beginners as young as six, through college aged swimmers. The RSD Swim Team has more than 20 years of history successfully serving the community by developing outstanding competitive swimmers. Children who do not attend after-school programs are almost three times more likely to skip classes and use marijuana or other drugs. Invest in 10 children who would not otherwise be able to attend one of our seven branches after school during the critical hours of 2-6pm. Our after-school programs provide diverse activities that meet the needs and interests of all young people. Core programs encourage activities with adults, peers, and family members that enable kids to enhance self-esteem and fulfill their potential. Thousands of local kids benefit from these programs daily. Youth learn life lessons to help them succeed as they grow into productive, caring citizens. With your $5,000 sponsorship, you would provide funding for branch specific programs like our College Nights at the La Colonia Branch located in the Hispanic community of Eden Gardens, Solana Beach. During this program, teens are able to engage in College Nights every Monday night where guest speakers inform teens about attending college and the importance of their college decisions. Mentors also help with financial aid and scholarship applications, and prepping for the SAT s. In addition, teens make several trips to local Southern California colleges throughout the year to get familiar with college campuses and experience what college life has in store for them. For many of the teens attending this program, they will be the first in their family to graduate high school and attend college.
