1 NCE AND SEE INTERPRETIVE GUIDE Prgram Administratrs may access summary scre reprts fr bth the Natinal Certificatin Examinatin (NCE) and the Self-Evaluatin Examinatin (SEE) via the NBCRNA website. The summary reprt will cntain the results f all currently enrlled students r graduates f the prgram within the last five years. Students and graduates may nt request prgram summary r individual NCE r SEE scre reprts. The infrmatin cntained in this guide is intended t prvide assistance in interpreting NCE and SEE test takers scres. The scre summaries cntained in this dcument are based n test taker perfrmance in FY2016 (9/1/15 8/31/16). NCE Prgram Administratrs: The Prgram Administratr summary reprt is in Excel frmat. The reprt cntains the Persn ID, student name, test date, exam number, ttal scaled scre, result (P/F), and cntent area scaled scres. The cntent areas are described in detail in the test cntent utline f the Natinal Certificatin Examinatin (NCE) Candidate Handbk. T calculate the first-time test taker average fr the ttal scaled scre and each cntent area scre fr yur students, simply srt the Excel spreadsheet by exam number (1 fr first-time takers) and sum the candidate scres fr yur prgram, bth fr the ttal scre and fr the cntent area scres, and divide by the number f candidates fr yur prgram. Refer t the NCE Example f Calculating an Average that appears n page 2.that appears belw. These averages can be cmpared t the natinal NCE means (ttal and cntent area scres) in Table 1 n page 2. The scaled scre is listed fr the ttal test and each f the cntent areas. The scaled scre is a transfrmatin f the examinee s demnstrated ability measure. Yu can cmpare yur individual r yur students perfrmance with ther students fr each f these cntent areas by finding the apprpriate heading. If the student s scaled scre n this cntent area was 405, yu wuld lk dwn the first clumn n the cumulative percentage table fr Anatmy, Physilgy, Pathphysilgy, Anesthesia cnsideratins until yu fund the scre range f The next clumn t the right, labeled Year 1 Cum. %, lists the crrespnding cumulative percentage f 59.3 fr all 1 st year examinees. The 52.7 in the next clumn is the cumulative percentage fr all 2 nd year examinees. The 59.0 in the next clumn is the cumulative percentage fr all 3 rd year and beynd examinees. The crrespnding cumulative percentage f 55.1 fr all examinees at that scaled scre value is listed in the far right clumn labeled All Cum. %. This means that with a scaled scre f 405 n Anatmy, Physilgy, Pathphysilgy, Anesthesia cnsideratins, yur student scred higher r equal t 55.1% f all examinees n that cntent area. Students shuld use these tables in the same manner as Prgram Administratrs in rder t interpret their individual SEE perfrmance acrss the cntent areas and ttal test. 5
